Time to sit down an take notes...I have exactly those issues of 'unreasonable' bloating. Something to consider btw, for anyone thinking about trying a keto or carnivore style diet - even just temporarily. Be aware, that while the latter especially, is an instant fix for digestive distress (well some people apparently experience diarrhea in the beginning, but I never had that issue), it will change your gut microbiome. And if you ever decide to go back to a high fiber diet...well. It's not fun, let's put it like that.
@DorianWilson3 жыл бұрын
This is a main point I try and make in the food section. Cutting these fermentable foods out for a while will bring shot term relief, but may create an even worse situation if/ when you go back to even the smallest amount.
@raraavis77823 жыл бұрын
@@DorianWilson Yeah, please keep making that point - I don't think, many people are aware of this. I'm about halfway back to normal digestion, I'd say (and I'll definitely look into probiotics to help things along), but in the beginning...everything with fiber would bloat me. Everything. It was not fun and not worth the couple pounds I lost on keto. Could have done that counting calories (though admittedly, keto is easier). If I had known, I would at least have eaten as many veggies as possible, while staying in ketosis instead of going ultra low carb.
@DorianWilson3 жыл бұрын
@@raraavis7782 Look at the probiotics, and the prebiotic vegtables, like asperagus and leek :) Also try and test oatmeal (also called poridge) , starting with smaller amounts and see how you handle it!
@DorianWilson3 жыл бұрын
@@raraavis7782 Another thing to think about is, even when in Keto, if something like Asperagus is being fermented, its really then fueling you as SCFAs, which are actually kinda similar to ketones! So these vegetables aren't even anti keto the way most people might think they would be.

It's crazy that the standards for agriculture are so much higher, atleast in Europe, yet the food is also so much cheaper than here. Organic food here is a joke. The standards we have on it is pathetic. Yet we pay twice to 4x more for it. Makes you wonder how much they'd jack up prices if we had Europe's standards and that is even sadder. You have to be rich to eat healthy. If your poor you get poisoned by the food you eat and then can't afford Healthcare to fix the problems caused by the horrible food.

What happens in dysbiosis is, that because of the loss of scfa producing bacteria, the colon's ph decreases which causes bad bacteria to proliferate. You want to have good levels of scfa producing bacteria to maintain a low ph to prevent dysbiosis. The elephant in the room is alcohol and sugar intake. If you have severe dysbiosis, then you probably need to accept a life of clean, healthy eating. Reversing dysbiosis takes a long time and returning to old habits can make dysbiosis return.

@chrisgiles56533 жыл бұрын
Although I have no formal qualifications in this field, I have been following the science of probiotics and prebiotics for over 20 years, and this video is an excellent introduction to the topic. However, I would caution anyone thinking of getting stool sampling done that the accuracy and repeatability of the results is highly suspect. I remember reading that someone sent samples from the same stool to different labs and the results that came back were very different. Also repeated testing done on the same individual on successive days often shows a huge variation in species' prevalence, probably depending on what they ate the day before. So, take your stool sample results as a broad brush picture of your microbiome at one point in time, not as a finely-detailed description of an enduring bacterial population profile. Finally, I recommend the book The Good Gut by Sonnenburg.

I tried a few probiotics and thjbgs seemed to work great (bloating issue) . After seeing the video, I can say that the two strains mentioned is listed in my 60 Billion product! I double dosed it a few times and the stomach seemed to appreciate evident by lack of bloating. As far as tests, I did do one but they got shut down. I hear most give yiu different results so, it's kind of hard to trust another testing company especially after the one I selected got closed down for their fake technology work and false claims. Please let me know if anyone tried more than one company and saw good/matching results. Awesome video! Long video but loved the explanation and shared it with many friends.

I've always been rather fascinated by the gut microbiome and have been wanting to optimize it for health and longevity. But tbh information is hard to find if you aren't a person that reads scientific research on the regular. Thanks for making this information digestible (puns!)

We consume specially cooked food that needs to be consumed the next day, on a special day each year. This helps to maintain our microbiome. The real western problem is that people there don't cook their own food at home. Instead consume processed foods.
@randomcracka33 жыл бұрын
In America, even the food cooked at home is processed. Unless you grow and hunt your own
@dalekmasterblaster5853 жыл бұрын
The main problem is that us Americans usually add some other condiments to simply add more calories and taste. Nice healthy salad with chicken and rice. Add some ranch to the salad and a soda, and you immediatley ruin a good meal.

Found out when I was young I can never over indulge on singular types of food. First it was gluten (had well over 10x the amount an adult would of gluten in my system), then it was dairy (can eat processed cheese just fine but a sip of milk will cause me to vomit). Add in the extremely bad acid reflux (once melted a plastic trash bin) and moderate Ulcerative Colitis and I've had to greatly restrict my diet. For some reason certain gluten/dairy products are fine (fresh French bread, saltines, mass produced ice cream, processed cheese) while small amounts of others (Gelato or extra toasted cheeze its [about 5 is enough to cause a severe acid reaction]) can drop me in minutes. So I now basically stick with fruits, vegetables, and meat. Overall, I've felt so much better using simple recipes and hope one day to deal with the terrible side affects of the internal bleeding due to the UC. PS: Took months to fine tune my meals so that the gas wasn't so crippling and honestly that was the most annoying one to deal with. Am now taking turmeric twice a day and probiotcs have helped immensely.

We have very similar issues. For me, its citric acid and sugar that triggers my acid reflux. Processed foods are horrible. I just cook at home. Makes life much easier.

This video was in my recommended. I am a 20 year old with a weight of 45 kgs, my stomach is normally flat every morning after I wake up and it starts getting bloated after I eat breakfast until going to bed. Then I wake up again with a flat stomach. It seems like every time I eat, my belly expands 2-5 inches more (5 inches when I get "gerd attacks"). I stopped exercising but I think I should do it again. Thank you for the video. I'll come back here one day when my stomach stops bloating.

For anyone suffering bloating, stop eating wheat (check ingredients also) and this could be the answer. As someone who suffered from bloating for years it completely disappeared when I have up wheat, my excessive flatulence also stopped. Good luck.

I had the same issue while eating wheat in the USA. When I went to Europe or India, I had no issues eating wheat there. Now, I eat NON-GMO wheat here, and bloating is down to 90% when I do that.

I've already been doing this. Since Dr's kept giving me pills muscle relaxers and more. I just wanted my problem fixed or controlled. So I took it in my hands and brought it to auto immune . Which I seen keto or carnivore diet helped that and ended up working to fix my stomach biological system. I ate healthy clean and made sure everything was balanced to what I need. Now I'm almost their.

Thanks for the recommendation. Excellent video quality. I don't have a bloating problem. My stomach stays small and shredded.

You left out a major cause of bloating. It is dehydration. When hydrated adequately, much of the gas created in the gut is absorbed into water This water is constantly moving back and forth between the gut and blood stream. In the blood, the gas can be breathed out. Gut gas is primarily hydrogen, CO2, and methane. All are odourless.

I have never searched for bloating and I rarely watch videos on that sort of subject. Earlier on, a friend told me (over Viber) that she saw a doctor because of bloating. The next thing I know, I get this video as a recommendation. Viber is supposed to be encrypted, yet this seems like more than a coincidence.
