@@TotallyTabled I had been waiting years to play this - couldn't get 2nd edition anywhere - so I simultaneously was afraid I'd hyped it it my brain and and also that I might have a bias. Genuinely I was really quite impressed, rarely does a games mechanics and theme fit so well together. The teach is pretty quick, two turns in and you've probably seen most of the rules overhead in play so then it's all really about tactics/strategy. We turned what we thought was a guaranteed loss (number 2 marker on the time track) into an overwhelming win by building up momentum and linking liberations. It was one of the best wins I think I've had in boargaming, really satisfying. I played at 2 with 2 factions, looking forward to getting the full 4 players in a few weeks time. I think over time it'll become a little repetitive but for now I would recommend this to most people, even as a gateway/gateway+ level game. Also, I think there could be room for expansions here, possibly using the liberation cards for different events etc. But again, thanks for the video, super useful and great presentation!

You always explain it so well - I've learned several games from your playthroughs. This game wasn't even on my radar but the theme is so different - it's a purchase. Requesting clarification on using the Reaction Card for Police movement priority... in the rulebook it says "The ID priority specified on the Reaction card at the top of the Reaction deck determines whether the police are currently prioritizing the highest or lowest ID districts." But at 42:11 you used the most recently revealed reaction card, which would technically be in its discard pile. That card showed lowest ID.

At 45:35 you use a 3 to build an occupation on a 4 tile. Unless I've misunderstood something so far that should not be possible, right?

Thank you for the detailed playthrough. The game looks great but I feel like the luck element from the dice rolls is way too high since there's barely any luck mitigation. How would you rate the luck element on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest?

I guess I don't see things the same way you do. This isn't rolling to resolve -- you roll the dice and then determine how best to use the dice you rolled. Some actions work with any number. You can even combine dice to take advanced actions that require specific numbers. And you control where and when you are doing things, so you can take actions in easier locations or push your luck at times. You also get cards that help with actions and acquire additional dice. That's a TON of mitigation. More importantly this system offers great decision making. You need to set yourself up so you can deal with bad rolls as well as take advantage of good rolls. That sort of risk management is part of the strategic element of this game, not a flaw. In other words, the existence of luck is not necessarily a bad thing. I've never felt like I lost this game due to bad luck, only bad planning. Thanks for watching.

@@warever37 Yeah, higher rolls are definitely better, but the good and bad rolls generally even out. Usually you have some high and some low dice, which forces you to react tactically. Sometimes a good roll can be bad because you aren't able to fully take advantage of it. I love all of this, but some people have a different experience with "luck" in games. This isn't Chess or Go. But if you like other popular co-op games, I don't think this one is any more luck dependent than any of those. I hope you enjoy it if you get a copy!

I am always getting random dice, cubes, pawns, etc when I see sales or I need to complete an order to get free shipping. So those came from my collection. I don't think they are anything special. I do like the transparent ones.

Did you use different dice? I got a KS edition 2nd hand and it has black dice.

Yes, I mention in the beginning that I am using larger colored dice for the video to make it easier to follow on film. The game comes with smaller black dice. Thanks for watching, ontrevantable!

Those are very small Super Stackers that I picked up ages ago. They are great for player pieces and tokens.
