I Thank you guys for uploading this video. I have a 1979 Pontiac Grand Prix that I'm working on and I'm actually working on the roof of it and I had no idea really how to start working on it but, I see that I am doing it right by the looks of this video so I' keep going. I just need a little more then I'll get to work on my front clip, hood and trunk.

For long panel flatning I use a 36” 4” PVC pipe with 2 3/4” sticky back sand paper with a long x crossing pattern of stroke.

Just found this channel. Subbed after 1 video. You guys are legit. Ive been doing paint/body for a long time. I feel i do good work because i never advertise and work finds me. I only do specialized high end custom stuff. I am always a fan of learning new things. I never considered powdercoating an entire vehicle but it seems so much easier and overall better. The parts that don't get painted can just be left in powdercoat vs all the steps involved in Starting from bare metal and building all the layers, starting with epoxy and working your way up to paint......... brilliant! Great work guys!

What are you doing with the bare metal spots after your filler work is done I have the same issue right now before high build. Blend in some epoxy? What are you using for high build VP 2050 or 5300 from TAMCO dtm?

Those 59 wings are crazy for doing bodywork. I did my 58 Bel Air and often thought of doing a 59 but i see the PITA factor of those horizontal fins and Ill pass!

In the 70s 80s and 90s they didn’t know how to use a hammer and dolly. Really? You have to use acrylic blocks. Really? So I guess there have never been any straight show cars until the 2020s when people figured out how to use a hammer and dolly and bought acrylic blocks. It’s not what block you use, it’s knowing how to use it. You need to get out more and stop thinking your way is the only way.

3 wipes on a roof skin suggests metal work wasn’t great .. you also need to wipe filler in with a much larger applicator .

Agreed. Body filler is WAY too thick on this car. Not to mention, they're gonna put polyester primer over top of it. Should have spent more time with the hammer and dolly for sure.

I'm not sure I am at ease with that much filler either. I guess it's all about the intended purpose of the finished vehicle. For me durability is the word.

ya i dont get it why so much body filler? it dont even look like thers any damage lol. thers a rusian on here n he doesnt even use body filler. this dude deals wit so many mashed up cars n straightens them out without any body filler. the dude is magic
