I remember a few years ago considering one of those shoe boxes. The reason I considered it was because I couldn't find another place (rental crisis). The shoe box (actually more like 3/4 of a shoe box as the room was more a triangle *single bed in the corner , small tv and that's about it*). Of course it was well overpriced as well. I would have had to put everything in storage and downgraded my bed. Thankfully I didn't.

But you get used to it.. however I had a new experience about 2 months ago, I was redoing all of the sewer lines in the basement of a house and all the lines were above my head.. PVC cement and primer, mixed together, when I was pressing a 4 inch T-fitting together, a nice big blob of it drip into my eyeball. I just had to deal with it and hold the fitting together until it cured. So the fitting didn't push itself apart, and then I have to redo it all, over the years I've gotten a lot of things in my I probably the worst one was when I was welding hot BB fuzzed itself to my eyeball. That was an emergency room visit. Chunk of metal scraped off my cornea, fun stuff, but the PVC cement glue. I'm used to swimming in freshwater not saltwater, so if I had to compare what my eyeball was exposed to I would say salt water and pepper spray.
