I used to drive semi trailers in Australia in my younger days. Have to give you credit for your patients and driving skills. Had many challenges myself in tight streets. Driving in your country looks even more of a challenge with very tight streets and estates.

My pet peeve is on show.Luke you have done a nice job strapping the load down but you have all your ratchets on the same side of the load. Now it may look pretty but you are pulling the load in the direction of the ratchets. You need to put the ratchets on opposite sides to balance the forces out and help keep the load stable. I drive 7.5 tonne and 3.5 tonne flatbeds not 30 plus tonne but the same things apply across the weight scales.

@@BlueSquad00 The difficulty is okay, it's just different than passenger cars. We must focus much more on reliability and the high amount of variety makes it tricky. I think that we have something like 28.000 different configurations the customer can pick from. In the passenger cars they usually have just a few hundreds.

Serious props for taking that big rig into a small residential community with a one-way dead-end street, and backing up all the way out with a fifth wheel! Seriously impressed! I have seen many other trucker videos where the driver (even with a commercial drivers license) has troubles just simply parking in the truck stops or backing up to the warehouse bay doors! Very nice work!

I absolutely loved driving HGV's mate and the sense of achievement driving huge vehicles on very challenging roads. You can see so much from a high cab and the number of arrogant and ignorant car drivers that will not give you an inch. Unfortunately UK roads mate and the ever increasing demand on drivers and the ruination of driving jobs by agencies has ruined any chance of a rewarding and enjoyable career. Everyone takes HGV drivers for granted, great job mate, keep trucking.

I wonder sometimes whether car drivers on estates come out on purpose to make it awkward for you. I live on a cul-de-sac estate (only small). We have a few lorries, usually carrying skips or even as large as yours bringing in stuff what people have ordered, and none of us bother. The neighbours always lets us know what's happening, so we are prepared, no problem

Hey Luke justva suggestion, when i carry loads that i think will move, like timber or metalwork i always put 2 straps going to n.side and a central strap going to the o.side so the pull against each other to keep the load in place, defo use some kind of edge protecor on those road plate ie some rubber slip mat or old bits of carpet and sometimes give the ratchets an extra tweak with a bar.
