Thank you for that very interesting and insightful video. How much time do you is necessary in preproduction for a DOP to properly prepare a regular 90-120 minutes feature film? 😊

What's your exact job on this production, and why are you the one doing this light schematic? Your showing something that is out of the directors job.

While this was incredible to see. The whole process of such a shoot, it also felt a bit too methodical. Somewhere creativity and the true purpose of film making gets lost in all this. Just my opinion.

What do you mean? In the high-end professional film industry this is just a basic thing to do and more than necessary to deliver the information to all departments

Yes, the theory of why I did all this is in the emotion on how I shot it and how I delivered the directors vision. Planning things out way in advance only helps you put the most bang for your buck on the screen. Of course you will do audibles when you see something special and serendipity.

No. When you’re spending close to 100, 000 dollars on just gear, this is a must.

This planning is absolutely necessary on this scale of project. The rigging, electric, logistics, and manpower required to execute this require thorough communication. It is not overly methodical; it is practical. Methods and technical skills enable one to be creative, not hinder creativity.
