Great video! Lots of useful information on your thought process. What would you say is a good example or starting point when formatting a look book document? Does your format change depending on who you present it to? (i.e. directors, investors, etc.)

It is all driven from emotion and reading that script. I try to put myself in the characters head space and light and lens and move the camera based on this. When these thoughts come I start to look at imagery that will best deliver the emotion on each scene

Quick question, when you are dealing with so much mixed lighting what do you set the color temp as in camera? Do you have a consistent key (Large Source) thoughout the entire scene that fills when the colors fluctuate?

I love this idea and I'm definitely going to use it. But do you use the directors vision input at first or is it something you create from your own vision?

I create this from my own vision and present it to the director. We then decide what looks work and which one's don't. It's essential to have this look book to give a general idea reference of what you want the film to look like.

Way before getting into all the movie engineering stuff I thought everything was done in "1 take" but obviously we know Most films are never done in 1 take. The dirty dancing scene copy was cool.
These movies used simple lighting techniques
