Theres this religious belief against gold in the western world because USG has been promoting such propoganda at all levels of society since it defaulted on gold standard in 1971. So everybody that grew up in the west since then has it ingrained subconsciously, not just the stock investment crowd. Curious thing is, you will not observe that phenomenon in 90% (non-western parts) of the world.

I'm in my 50s and I'm more interested in investments that could set me up for retirement , I mean I've heard of people that netted hundreds of thousands during these crash, I listened to someone on a podcast who earned over $650K in less than a year, what's the strategy behind such returns?
@FaithAndrada-xo9ou5 ай бұрын
Find quality stocks that have long term potential, and ride with those stocks. I have found it takes someone who is very familiar with the market to make such good picks.

A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.

How can one find a verifiable financial planner? I would not mind looking up the professional that helped you. I will be retiring in two years and I might need some management on my much larger portfolio. Don't want to take any chances.

*Whitney Kay Stacy* is the licensed fiduciary I use. Just research the name. You’d find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment..

Bob needs to show why yield isn't high enough to create demand destruction because right now I see plenty. Most of the rise of inflation today was due to what happened year ago.
@PhilipWong556 ай бұрын
The rise in inflation is caused by a decrease in demand for the US dollar. At the same time, the US is facing difficulties in selling its bonds, leading to an increase in yields. A significant portion of short-term bonds, which are primarily owned by foreign governments, are nearing maturity. If these governments don't reinvest in these bonds, the US will have to sell them to private investors, who will demand higher yields. This, in turn, will perpetuate a vicious cycle of increasing yields.

Our economy is like a flailing fish, fighting for its life. The normal state of the U.S. economy is actually very bad. Because of this it goes into convulsive spasms fighting to grow any way it can out of desperation. Tricks, gimmicks, rule changes try to stimulate the economy and prevent it from falling but they only bring temporary relief to people since, when you factor in inflation we are declining.

People believe their currency has the worth it does because they have no other option. Even in a hyperinflationary environment, individuals must continue to use their hyperinflationary currency since they likely have minimal access to other currencies or gold/silver coins.

Inflation is gradually going to become part of us and due to that fact any money you keep in cash or in a low-interest account declines in value each year. Investing is the only way to make your money grow and unless you have an exceptionally high income, investing is the only way most people will ever have enough money to retire.

The fed, the treasury and government spending are linked. If the government spends 1 billion ever 100 days that is adding to liquidity in the economy- it also devalues the domestic US currency and that is the same as inflation. If the Fed sells treasuries that adds more dollars to the financial system ( treasuries market) and so the fed attempts to use interest rates to manage the continuing devaluation of the currency, ( inflation) THe US economy functions on debt and currently the US government is engaged in a war economy debt spiral. When the stock markets realise this there will be a significant market correction. It would wise to remember that the US stock market and bond market are global- and global investors play a significant role in providing leverage to both.

Coz they are seeing recession on the horizon prolly next yr and thats why they dont care about inflation. This exact same thing happened in 2007 where everyone was worried about 3.5%+- inflation but Fed started cutting rates
