@@mohdhafidz6268That's such a Desi thing to add the prefix "Haji" once one performs fardh Haj. As Paul was also regularly performing another fardh, Salah(Namaz). Shouldn't he have already been called, Salati(Namazi) Paul? Maybe also Zakati Paul and Saaim(Rozedaar) Paul? Haj is a fardh like other faraaidh of Islam. There's nothing rewarding to add "Haji" as a salutation or prefix to ones name.

@ashraf8773 In Malaysia here, once a Muslimin already completed his/her journey through pilgrimmage/Hajj we gave them the title Haji (for male)/Hajah (for female) as to show respect. Of course there's nothing rewarding to add title around the name but it's to honour the person for what he/she have achieved. Why do we call Muhammad a Prophet then if he is a Prophet through his teachings to us? Why do Allah have 99 attributes/titles to His Majesty and Almighty if He is the Creator? Why do we call ourselves Muslim(one who sumbit to the will of God(Allah) and also a servant? There's nothing wrong with it unless you abused that title or call yourself something that you don't.

Wow, beautifully articulated and presented my dear brother, Paul. I am a Muslim residing in Sydney, Australia, and was debating a Christian colleague back in college many years ago. In the course of studying the Bible, (so I can debate with him) I came across that verse, Mark 10:18 and was astonished by the similarities that particular phrase had with the Quran. It immediately dawned up on me thinking, what the hell is going on here. Apparently, some of the Christian teachings are very similar to Islam. I also read the accounts of Mathew and Luke later and found the discrepancies you pointed out. I knew then that the Bible was corrupted and not because the Quran said so. I did my own studies and came to the same conclusion. It was really an eye opener for me back then and now after watching this wonderful presentation, it has cemented it even further.

I hope I'm not a "misled disbeliever". I am a Christian believer but I don't accept your view that there's "no better way anyone can clarify the truths". I don't intend to be disrespectful toward either you or Paul. But we have to consider that many different scholars ( either Christian or Muslim ) hold to their beliefs for many various reasons. I honestly admit I do have difficulty understanding the correlation of Gospel of Mark 10 with the different versions of the same event in Matthew and Luke. However my lack of scholarship does not point to the truth that the Gospel authors were dishonest or that they "tampered" with the Gospel of Mark. We have to consider which author may have actually witnessed the event in question. And we have to consider the languages used by the authors. Did Mark write in Greek while Matthew wrote in Hebrew? I think those are good questions. By the way, I've never read the Quran. But I respect Muslims. Respectfully from Florida....

If Arius did not lose the political battle to preserve the belief in one God, to his rival in Alexandria who promoted this trinity, we would not have a Trinity today. And god knows best why this happened. Either way, respect to the latter day Unitarians who reject the trinity. Isaac newton was one of the many prominent followers of this creed. It seems to me, that trinity christianity was a state enforced creed for the masses, for it was said by the emperor that no other christian belief would be allowed. And it makes sense as per the closing points, that when Jesus returns, he will say to the trinitarians (or any other deviant sect) “get away from me, ye did not know me” - as per the hadith, which is strikingly accurate given what has happened historically leading up to the councils starting in 325.

Mark 10:17 straight up destroys divinity of Jesus. There is one more thing I would like Christians to realize that when they read into the NT and claim that Jesus implicitly talked about his divinity or in other words said indirectly that he's God they forget that in the OT which is basically Jewish scripture God cleary talked about Himself as being one and only on numerous occasions. He clearly said ''I am your God'' or ''Worship me'' etc. But when it comes to the NT who God is all becomes blurry with all the eisegesis of the text. Jesus never said emphatically or explicitly that he is God in the NT when it should have been the case if he really was God as that's what we infer from the OT when God talked about Himself unambiguously as being one and people should worship Him alone.

Sir, I hope you know that you and your knowledge about comparative religion are light for the muslim ummah. As muslims we always knew our religion was right because of how simple and straightforward it is. But when people from other religions start to make these historical claims about our prophets we don't really know what to say because we were never exposed to extensive history about the previous scriptures. We can answer them from theological point of view but when it comes to history we're just not used to it. May Allah increase your rank and keep you under His provision :)

Regarding the passage in Mark 10, Jesus did not deny he was God in the flesh because he was never asked such a question. The rich ruler knew there was a quality about Jesus which no on else had. No where in the Gospels as (Muslims correctly state) did Jesus declare himself as God and to be worshipped. However, he hinted in several places that he was God in the flesh and therefore equal to the God they were familiar with. His disciples acknowledged he was God in the flesh. Regarding how stories are written, the Quran is a good example of how stories can be changed either unintentionally through misunderstanding or deliberately through conspiracy. The former can be forgiven, the latter not so much.

Many schoolers rely on their own understanding .. the bible tells us who is JESUS ... Matthew 3: 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” ..... Phillipians 2:7 "But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men" being in likeness of men definitely he wouldn't have been in receipt of the praises of praise's of goodness of HIS Father because He was yet to fulfill His assignment of redeeming the mankind after it fell during the first Adam, JESUS before the resurrection He bored the sin of the World ....2 Corinthians 5:21 "For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." So when the youngman fell in His feet He was still carrying our sins and cant be called GOOD except for the WORD (GOD) of which was made flesh in JESUS after resurrection JESUS regained His glory...Luke 24:27 "Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?”

Paul- ALL the following texts are taken from Barclay's Commentary: You will find these passages under John 1:1-14: *"Here was the shatteringly new thing--that God could and would become a human person, that God could enter into this life that we live, that eternity could appear in time, that somehow the Creator could appear in creation in such a way that men's eyes could actually see him."* *"So staggeringly new was this conception of God in a human form that it is not surprising that there were some even in the church who could not believe it. What John says is that the word became sarx ( Greek **#4561** ). Now sarx ( Greek **#4561** ) is the very word Paul uses over and over again to describe what he called the flesh, human nature in all its weakness and in all its liability to sin. The very thought of taking this word and applying it to God, was something that their minds staggered at."* *"It may well be that we are often so eager to conserve the fact that Jesus was fully God that we tend to forget the fact that he was fully man. The word became flesh--here, perhaps as nowhere else in the New Testament, we have the full manhood of Jesus gloriously proclaimed. In Jesus we see the creating word of God, the controlling reason of God, taking manhood upon himself. In Jesus we see God living life as he would have lived it if he had been a man. Supposing we said nothing else about Jesus we could still say that he shows us how God would live this life that we have to live."* The story of the rich young ruler is also found in Luke 18:18, about which Barclay wrote: *"This ruler addressed Jesus in a way which, for a Jew, was without parallel. In all the religious Jewish literature there is no record of any Rabbi being addressed as, "Good teacher." The Rabbis always said "there is nothing that is good but the law." To address Jesus in such a way savoured of almost fulsome flattery. So Jesus began by driving him and his thoughts back to God. Jesus was always sure that his own power and his own message, came to him from God."* Barclay also writes, *"This is the beginning of Jesus' answer to the Jews' charge that he was making himself equal to God. He lays down three things about his relationship with God.* *(i) He lays down his identity with God. The salient truth about Jesus is that in him we see God. If we wish to see how God feels to men, if we wish to see how God reacts to sin, if we wish to see how God regards the human situation, we must look at Jesus. The mind of Jesus is the mind of God; the words of Jesus are the words of God; the actions of Jesus are the actions of God.* *(ii) This identity is not so much based on equality as on complete obedience. Jesus never did what he wanted to do but always what God wanted him to do. It is because his will was completely submitted to God's will that we see God in him. Jesus is to God as we must be to Jesus.* *(iii) This obedience is not based on submission to power; it is based on love. The unity between Jesus and God is a unity of love. We speak of two minds having only a single thought and two hearts beating as one. In human terms that is a perfect description of the relationship between Jesus and God. There is such complete identity of mind and will and heart that Father and Son are one."* Barclay again continues... *"But this passage has something still more to tell us about Jesus.* *(i) It tells us of his complete confidence. He is quite sure that what men were seeing then was only a beginning. On purely human grounds the one thing Jesus might reasonably expect was death. The forces of Jewish orthodoxy were gathering against him and the end was already sure. But Jesus was quite certain that the future was in the hands of God and that men could not stop what God had sent him to do.* *(ii) It tells of his complete fearlessness. That he would be misunderstood was certain. That his words would inflame the minds of his hearers and endanger his own life was beyond argument. There was no human situation in which Jesus would lower his claims or adulterate the truth. He would make his claim and speak his truth no matter what men might threaten to do. To him it was much more important to be true to God than to fear men."* John 5:24 begins, "This is the truth I tell you--he who listens to my word and believes on him who sent me has eternal life, and is not on the way to judgment, but he has crossed from death to life." *And Barclay says, "Jesus says quite simply that to accept him is life; and to reject him is death. What does it mean to listen to Jesus' word and to believe in the Father who sent him? To put it at its briefest it means three things. (i) It means to believe that God is as Jesus says he is; that he is love; and so to enter into a new relationship with him in which fear is banished. (ii) It means to accept the way of life that Jesus offers us, however difficult it may be and whatever sacrifices it may involve, certain that to accept it is the ultimate way to peace and to happiness, and to refuse it the ultimate way to death and judgment. (iii) It means to accept the help that the Risen Christ gives and the guidance that the Holy Spirit offers, and so to find strength for all that the way of Christ involves."* John 5:25-29 states, "This is the truth I tell you--the hour is coming and now is when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and, when they have heard, they will live. For, as the Father has life in himself, so he has given to the Son to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to exercise the process of judgment, because he is the Son of Man" *Barclay comments, "Here the Messianic claims of Jesus stand out most clearly. He is the Son of Man; he is the life-giver and the life-bringer; he wll raise the dead to life and, when they are raised, he will be their judge."*

Assalamualaikum Haji Paul. Thank you Haji Paul for an excellent exposition. It is quite ironic that Islam is growing in the west with many reverts to Islam but in the east many born Muslims face a stern test of faith and many Buddhist, Taoist and Hindus get attracted and converted to Christianity not because of the purity of the faith per se but rather due to the perception that Christianity is a progressive and westernised faith brought by sweet talking white priests and evangelicals from the west. Also, Islam is viewed as a racial religion in that when one embraces Islam it is as if one will have to abandon one’s culture and ethnicity. It has become a racial thing to embrace Islam. Perhaps this is a subject worth exploring in your future talks because of your background being white English Anglo-Saxon former Christian. In my country Malaysia, if Chinese becomes Muslim it is as if they become Malay and abandoning their chinese heritage and Malays also add on to this feeling by somewhat claiming that you can only become Malay if you’re a Muslim. Politics in fact makes it worse. The reality is far from that as race and religion are two separate things but sadly because of this, many Chinese turn to Christianity from Taoism and Buddhism cause by the friendly more accepting nature of the church and also this racial divide. Just a taught.

There aren't that many in the Far East taking up the orthodox Christianity per-se. Most of them are adopting Modern Christian style of worship (Free and Easy, no church) combined with New-Age Theology (Jesus is kindof divine but not God). For the minority who do become orthodox Christian is just swapping Ancestor-worship to Triune-semi-pagan worship. These people don't actually read the Bible, they just attend church for preaching sessions and choir.

In fact, I have trouble understanding what "atonement" means. Anyhow... could you explain a bit more the concept of the "idea of Jesus" in contrast with the "personage of Jesus"? I accept Jesus' crucifixion as a "sacrifice of love" for us. But I often wonder why Jesus had to die on the cross. I know I'm not worthy of anything. In fact, I think I'm like a villain. I'm a sinner who needs help. Can God help us through the beloved Son Jesus ? Who helps the sinner in Islam? I'm not trying to be disrespectful to you or Muslims. I'm just a student of life and I'm somewhat open-minded to correction? If God sent Jesus to us because He loves us, how can we reject Him? I know little about Islam. This is not what most of the eastern or middle eastern christian scholars publicly admit or write about. The multiple strands of Christianity that Paul is referring to near the end of the video is the cause of this continuation of approving the earlier dishonesty. The issue of earlier scholars dishonesty and its impact on the future generations faith deserves more discussion.
