Exactly, you can't claim to be part of the covenant of Israel when you neither have the faith of Abraham nor the works of the Law. We Christians have both in Christ. God has always operated based on covenant with his people, not based on genetics. He instructed the recipients of the Sinaitic Covenant in Deuteronomy that if they were faithful to his word, then they would be blessed in the promised land, but that if they were not, then they would be cursed and expelled from the land. The majority of "Israel" were not only unfaithful, but habitually and generationally unfaithful throughout the Old Testament. Nevertheless, God looked on those who remained faithful and called them the remnant. That remnant was bolstered by the plentiful Gentile additions upon the installment of the New Covenant with Christ. The benefits of covenant with God have always been conditioned by faith and faithfulness throughout time. There is no special promise for those now who claim mere descent from Abraham because there never has been. If you believe so, then you believe God makes distinction between Jew and Gentile as Paul expressly rejected, clarifying that all have sinned. They are in need of a Savior, who is currently available through only one covenant, namely the one established by Christ. If you submit to the terms of that covenant, then you are promised certain things. You cannot falsely claim allegiance to other covenants be they defunct or active, hoping to inherit God's blessings.

The United States should end military aid to Israel... 1. Israel can pay for its own military. Israel has a strong economy, an excellent international credit rating, and runs frequent budget surplus. Israel ran an annual surplus of more than a billion dollars six out of the last ten years. 2. Military aid to Israel is a security risk. Israel is a major supplier of military technology to China. These sales have been instrumental in the modernization of the Chinese military. Israel developed the Lavi fighter from American technology with 1.5 billion in American subsidies. Israel sold the Lavi fighter to China. It is now called the J-10 and is the mainstay of the Chinese Air Force. Israel has also sold China missile guidance systems,, advanced radar systems and targeting systems. 3. Israel is a diplomatic liability. 4. I think sometimes we overlook the fact that the first Christians were of Jewish roots. We tend to neglect the importance of the Old Testament. It is vital that we read and soak up an understanding of what God was doing in the world before Christ began His ministry, that is, God's interaction with the Jews in particular but also with their neighboring nations. This understanding lays the groundwork for a deeper understanding and admiration for the mission of Christ. God refers to Israel (the Hebrew people) of the Old Testament as his wife. She was to bring forth a special child, a son who would crush the head of the serpent, also called Satan, the archenemy of God.. Sadly, Israel had a tendency to be unfaithful to God. Nevertheless, when the time was right in God's plan. this child was born, He was named Jesus, and this is where the New Testament begins. In my opinion, the Old Testament is the foundation on which the New Testament and the work of Christ are established, and it is essential to a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Christian faith. To God be all Glory forever and ever. His wisdom is beyond our comprehension. Let every knee bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is LORD!!!

My respect to you for discussing this topic. Of all the prominent people (who aren’t banned or arrested) who have expressed an opinion, you are the least objectionable. I would contend a few things with you. First many of the promises made to Abraham and passed onto Jacob/Israel are to their seed, ie their genetic line/race. So to say that Ashkenazie (excuse the spelling if wrong) genetics is irrelevant because of Covenant is misguided. It should also be pointed out here that non genetic conversion first took place in the book of Esther and became a real problem during the rise of Rome when non Israelites were labelled Jews and converted and placed in rulership roles. This is why Herod was particularly upset at the coming of Christ. Herod also saw to the corruption of the Levite order installing converted “Jews” into positions of authority in the Temple. I also call your attention to the return to Jerusalem after the Babylon captivity when they cast out all the interbred mixed race offspring from their ranks. As well as Deuteronomy where it is forbidden to marry from any tribe that is an enemy of God, even unto the 10th generation. Christ in John’s vision in Revelation 2:9 says He knows the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews but are not, but are the Synagogue of Satan. They existed in Christ’s time on Earth and they are almost nothing but today. My own perspective on Jews as a group is “love thy enemy”. Two things matter here. First don’t go out of your way to do hateful things to anyone regardless of who they are. Second, we still have enemies!! In regards to “good Jews”, well there are Good Samaritans too, but at the end of the day a Good Jew still prioritises the well-being of Jews above non Jews. AS THEY SHOULD! You put family before strangers, but we should be under no illusions of who the majority of their family is. Not just people who reject Christ, but whose faith and history is one of actively hating Him and wanting to destroy everyone who worships Him or comes from a society based on His rule.

Affection for Ancient Israel is certainly a requirement of a believer. But I would love some clarification on the "covenant" that you are referring to when you say that gentiles such as the alleged kingdom of the Khazars can join a covenant. Are you saying that the old Covenant that God made with Abraham is available to anyone today, as long as they become Jews, even through a forced political process? I doubt that is what you are saying, but it seems to be.

Even America's Grand Wizard of antisemitism, David Duke, has jettisoned the stupid Khazar thesis, admitting that Ashkenazi Jews share paternal DNA that goes back to the Levant. That there are those who became Jews by covenant rather than bloodline is clear from Scripture: “Do not abhor an Edomite, for he is your brother. Do not abhor an Egyptian, because you lived as an alien in his country. The third generation of children born to them may enter the assembly of the LORD” (Deut. 23: 7-8). “‘Shout and be glad, O Daughter of Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you,’ declares the LORD. ‘Many nations will be joined with the LORD in that day and will become my people’” (Zech. 2:10-11). After the Jewish exiles returned from Babylon, aliens were counted as native-born Israelites and receive their allotments among the twelve tribes: “‘You are to distribute this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel. You are to allot it as an inheritance for yourselves and for the aliens who have settled among you and who have children. You are to consider them as native-born Israelites; along with you they are to be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel. In whatever tribe the alien settles, there you are to give him his inheritance,’ declares the Sovereign LORD” (Ezek. 47:21-23).

History isn’t over. The completion of our Christ-likeness isn’t here yet, but it will be at the resurrection. What is going to happen between now and then? How will this be completed? As Paul seems to indicate, God isn’t done with Israel, or at the very least we should honor the physical descendants of Abraham, since they were entrusted with the Oracles of God. The Gospel came to the Jew first. Further, those Oracles of God were not penned in some sort of “spiritual language.” They were recorded in Hebrew and Koine Greek. This demands our recognition of the legitimacy of both the Jew and the Gentile.

@@joshhoodrat451 Ultimately we don't know in detail how it will play out, but I was reading answers to some objections regarding certain non-dispensational eschatology, particularly as regards the future of Israel. The position (for reference Sam Waldron writing from an Amillenial perspective) was that the promises we see in Romans regarding the future of the Jews in God's purposes don't necessitate a full mass conversion to Christ at the end of the world, but may instead indicate a promise that, in every generation from now until the end, that Jews will be converted to Christ.
@ManassehJones2 жыл бұрын
The Elect sons and daughters of God are spiritual Israel. Clearly the "seed of Abraham" IS the faith OF Jesus Christ, as Paul says, they are not all Israel who are of Israel." The promise is to "all families of the earth," meaning of every kind of people. The Elect, the "seed of Abraham," which is the faith OF Christ, is the "righteousness of God" imputed to Elect men from all nations and tribes, both Jew and Gentile, for "there is no difference." To pray for "the chosen people" is to pray for the Elect, both Jews and Gentiles, NOT the physical seed, but the spiritual seed, which is the faith OF Jesus Christ, whom God has chosen before the foundations of the world.

Jews at least have the old testament and then we cannot deny that miracle after miracle through the ages they have been guided to where they are now. Blessing and wrath of God brought them to today. Even the 2 main wars fought in 1967 and 1973 were a miracle that they won. Impossible in the natural. God said he would scatter them and the sword would follow them and then he would bring them back.
