Interesting take from James regarding the lack of celebration after Leota’s try. It felt more to me like they were just locked in on getting the ball back and going again. You look at Cleary’s face after that try and you’ll never see someone with a more locked in look on their face.

As a life-long Panthers fan, it made me so unbelievably happy to see the Peach get a premiership ring. The three-peat is insane too, and Cleary was brilliant, but the Peach was one of my favourite players some years ago and to see him finally have a premiership to his name makes me happy. What a season.

It’s been a pleasure and I’ll continue to spread the word on your work. (Nothing to do with this podcast) conversely, I’d like to highlight how disgraceful gordon tallis has been on post GF last night on 360, and the entirety of last week with relentless barbs and one sided views. Love the poddy Kempy and my thanks and appreciation for how many hours all of you blokes put up over a season. The Dylan Edwards of podcasting churning out the numbers week in & week out! Gotta say though I think the championing of the Broncos is a tad high on this one. Credit they dug in. Absolutely. Credit they produced some mad individual moments. 100%. But, all in, they played well for about 25-35 mins of a GF in my opinion and that's just not good enough, albeit a compliment to see they can go so close without really delivering for the majority of the game. I personally don't think you can say 'If only they'd made 4/5 less errors and they'd have won'. Because the easy instant comeback is 'If Cleary just misses two less tackles the Broncos have 12 less points'. So glad you gave Leota & JFH the credit you did, and the subsequent championing of Carrigan & Haas (Haas in particular) is more than fine. BUT, I believe the score when Leota & JFH are on the field is 26-0. For all the talk of Leota, JFH & Yeo vs Haas, Flegler & Carrigan leading into the game, the result of that particular middle battle was, like it or not, one sided. The drop off to Leniu & Smith was Penrith's main issue on the night in my opinion. Haas & Carrigan are obviously fantastic players so I'm not being a flog, but I feel nobody will come out and say that when they were toe to toe with the Penrith pair that, despite individual stats, the game momentum and flow beyond merely stats shows who dominated without question. In both stints. I'm with Guru that you can talk about them in the Webcke/Petero mould now. Thanks again for another season of podcasting to all of you fellas, love your work and grateful for how many listening hours you put up.

One of the greatest Grand Final games we will ever witness. Just wanted to share my opinion about Clearly, he is becoming one of the greatest number 7's in the NRL era no question at all. Do we think he does what he did if Luai and Yeo don't go off injured? I think if they both stay on the field, Clearly possibly doesn't do what he did because he wouldn't have to do anything special himself if they were still on. Still not taking away his unbelievable performance but something I thought about after the game. Panthers 4 in a row next year 😬 As a roosters Fan... I hope not 🐓🐓🐓

Only question marks I have for the Broncos - it was mentioned its a similar vibe to 2020 Penrith - in the 2020 GF the Panthers almost came back and stole the game - complete reverse here, the Broncs blew a huge lead and lost in the worst way possible. I am interested to see how they respond next year mentally.

The only selection mistake Cleary made was picking Tyrone May to play centre against Justin Olam over Brent Naden who he benched in the Penrith v Melbourne GF. Naden came on in the second half and you could see the difference. Ivan chose a versitile utility to play centres over a specialized centre-winger that has played there the entire year. That selection choice haunts me to this day and i bet it does Ivan aswell.

Worst thing about the game were the Channel Nine Commentators who were so bronco we had to turn their commentary off. Best thing was Cleary and his magnificent last 20 minutes where he showed the broncos how the game was played. Most satisfying moment was when Reynolds, Walters and especially Reese missed the tackle that lost them the game. Jokers, Strokers and Big Game Chokers which will haunt them.

He hasn't got the mungrel like flegler and flegler is alot bigger than fletcher, I've been watching him closely playing for roosters, he's good but we need that mungrel in that pack. Haas isn't that he's the bulldozer that gets through big meters, carrigan is the brains and heart in the pack. Willison is a beast but they're still very young and when it comes to a game like that grand final uo against fisher Harris and leota. You'll see the difference, plus they arnt that mungrel aggressive type which is ok they're going to be great forwards in the future. Arthur's is a gun but herbies work rate is on another level I'm not sleeping on anyone but the stat's don't lie and I don't see any centre in our squad doing it. I've watched mariner play and he's good but he's not putting out what herbie does it's that simple, We'll see next year.
