As far as I know, nobody performed live on American Bandstand. However, that’s not uncommon on TV performances. They usually tape the performance in a studio and then play back while on stage with live mic to pick up the audience. I once went to a taping of the Johnny Cash show in the 70’s. Kenny Rogers and the First Edition we’re performing a medley of their hits and it took 3 takes mostly because the drummer kept accidentally either hitting a drum or cymbal.

Michael, how old are the Rolling Stones? I completely agree with you. 34 is old for Rock. This is why many musicians evolve but when you're under contract with the devil you sing what the devil says when the devil says while dressed like the devil says. Eva Cassidy under advice from Mic Fleetwood, went to N.Y. to have a meet with the record companies. She walked out. Mic never brought up the subject again out of respect for the FREE will of a great talent. Until the day she crossed the road she sang what she wanted when she wanted and didn't dress like a teenager either.

These poor kids today don't have music. My son loves 70s and 80s music. 60s too. Deborah was so beautiful. A class act, no doubt.

I finally got to see Debbie Harry live performing in Chicago (on a double bill with Devo) in the 1990’s. She was over 60 by then and it was a very energetic performance. Excellent show!
