I think the team that made this film are genius with sense of humor. They expressed the cruel and boring life in the way so that people who have seen it can see their own life from different perspectives and with optimistic attitude. It’s really a great work. This film provides a good example of how a studio provided opportunities for someone to become a star. In 1939, Rita Hayworth played an important part in Howard Hawks' highly successful "Only Angels Have Wings." A year later, Columbia studio boss Harry Cohn gave Rita this amusing role as Joan Forrester, the woman who made Blondie Bumstead jealous. This was more good publicity for Rita because though the Blondie movies were "B" movies, they were cash cows for Columbia for a dozen years. After the "Blondie" movie, Cohn lent her to other studios for important films like "Strawberry Blonde" and "Blood and Sand" until he could put together dancing films for Rita at his own studio. After she danced with Fred Astaire ("You'll Never Get Rich" and "You Were Never Lovelier") and Gene Kelly ("Cover Girl"), Rita Hayworth was a superstar. But Blondie helped her, too

I did not approve of the way that Blondie talked to Dagwood. I also thought it was strange that an America family did not attend church on Sunday.
