Ok people this is a fabulous movie. No killing, no bad words, just great acting and the best baby in a movie. I could watch this again. Much much better than the movies they make now. This is the perfect movie the way it should be. Between teacher, baby, pupils and boss. A man caring and showing love for a child without any predators, racism, brutality, just love of a child. Great acting! Thanks to the people that take care of these old movies and preserve them for our children’s children to enjoy. A must watch movie for those who like to watch these kind of films. Thank you for the upload. Enjoyed it very much.

The Italian sitter is a lil "off". But aside from that? No meanness or cruelty. There's a Chunky girl and there are no jokes at her expense. Just people trying to do their best The students even correct and learn. Showed this to my teenage BOY and he got a tear in his eye.🥰

With the cutest baby! Oh, my golly, what a precious set of twin girls playing baby boy, Chum. The facial expressions and vocalizations are an absolute delight. Modern CGI magic could not have produced a cuter or better version of the baby than these two darling little girls. Just delightful!

Same here except I had nowhere to go and no money to do it. Low paying jobs were all you could get in my town. So I married a man that cheated on me all the time. I raised the kids alone, worked, and went to school. I remarried, but this one hasn't been a bed of roses either. He needed a cook and housekeeper too. My grown children don't speak to me and my daughter-in-law and son won't let me see my grandson. There have been good times, but mostly bad. I'm 68 with multiple health problems and don't feel like I'll be around very much longer. I would just like to see my grandson again.

The actress that was the baby was played by a girl (or girls) "Baby Quintanilla" born April 22, 1939. She is still with us today 12-17-2020. Age 81..She was a twin, Barbara and Beverly. I noticed that the baby did not look exactly the same at times, I think that both the twins were used in this film. Credited as one (Baby Quintanilla).

It's May 30, 2020 and people have been rioting all over the country these past few days to protest the death of George Floyd. Curfews have been instituted in cities and now the National Guard has been called in. I decided to escape for a bit and happened upon this movie. What a blessing! I wish everyone in our country could watch this tonight to remind us what brotherhood (or shall I call it sisterhood in this case? - pun intended!) is all about. This movie is full of decency, heart, humor, tenderness, good old fashioned kindness and love. It's everything our country stands for. I cried at the ending because it was so sweet, but I'm still crying...or am I crying out...for our country right now. God bless us all this night, may the Lord keep us safe, and may we view each other with eyes of full of compassion, trust, and love.

Eddie Cantor and Will Rodger came from the Zigfield Follies. Both were beloved by all Americans. The movie was cute, contrived but made so believable It brings tears to my eyes at 91. The Eddie Cantor radio show was cancelled because Eddie was not going to put anything in his show tobelittle the German people or make fun of Hitler as he was ordered to do. He just wouldn't commit himself to speak unkindly about anyone. I still remember his his sign -ff song, "It's been so lovely to spend and evening with you. Definitely a gem of a film. So much to comment on: (1) Eddie Cantor reminds me a lot of Mr. Rogers and further his performance here was very endearing. (2) Busby Berkeley had to have been a good director (as well as choreographer) to get such performances from the players, especially the baby. (3) That baby -- so perfect in every scene and so adorable. (4) I'll mark this one to recommend to my friends at Christmas. From the very first scene it is such a feel-good movie, and without even mentioning the word Christmas it expresses in so many ways the true spirit of the season. Many thanks to Films by the Year for a most enjoyable time, an evening well spent. 7/2018

a bit of movie trivia: the girl who plays Marcia (Diana Lewis), married mega movie star William Powell in 1939 and quit acting to devote herself to being his wife full time. He called her "mousie" because she was so petite. He was recovering from the loss of his previous very famous girlfriend , the sex symbol Jean Harlow. Diana Lewis and Powell had no children. They lived quietly in Palm Springs. Powell died at the age of 97. Diana Lewis remained active in charity events, etc.

What a lovely, funny and emotional film. I got tearful nearly throughout the film. My Late Mother was born in late 1937 and she was adopted by a my loving Late Grandmother. There is so much to be thankful for that one does not realise it. I had a much older Mother and I don't understand my generation. The pain is unbearable, I wish I could have lived in those happier times even if life was harder.

This starts off very depressingly, then you think it's going to be a corny musical. But after those first two scenes, the movie gets going and is cute, interesting, funny, different, and a joy to watch.

The first time I saw this movie, it got my eyes glued on the TV screen instantly. I forgot the title, but thank Google! I typed in a lot of keywords and finally found it after 7 or 8 years!!! I'm so happy. 😍

Amazing. Hollywood wouldn't celebrate a baby boy or being a father - let alone motherly instincts NOW. Quite the opposite. This was a pleasure.

What a perfectly beautiful movie and the ending brought me to tears. I just wonder how the get the babies to act the way that they do. Not only this movie, but I’ve watched them in other movies acting that way. I hope that the parents get royalties for allowing the to act in those movies. And I too, love the professor’s kind attitude and love and understanding of others. At👌👌👌❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰

Men of that period were built just like Eddie Cantor. My father certainly was. There were no hormones injected into their food, like today. My father even dressed like that - hat & all. Dad was born in 1907 & this could just as easily have been him.
