Blood Brothers tells the extraordinary and ultimately tragic story of the friendship between two of the most iconic figures of the 20th century: Muhammad Ali, the greatest boxer of all time, and Malcolm X, the Nation of Islam’s - and black America’s - most incendiary and charismatic leader.
This was the unlikeliest of friendships - the brash Olympic Champion who spoke in verse to the amusement of the white press and the ex-con intellectual-turned-revolutionary who railed against the evils of white oppression and dismissed sports as a triviality. But their bond was deep, their friendship real.

@Nutbox Deliverer absolutely 100 percent true. Heck, even if he doesn't take care of his wife and kids, we can't judge. BUT. HOWEVER. if said man preaches to others about being faithful, having one wife etc, but does not do it, well hell, we must judge. E.g people murder innocent people every day, but imagine if a cop murdered innocent people. We would all lose our shit. Why? Because of what the cop preaches.

I wonder if this Netflix film will show the truth - how they both left the Nation of Islam after realising Islam has no skin colour & muslims are brothers regardless of race & ethnicity - Malcom x saw this in Makkah first hand. @@pfunk42 I will repeat my comment from before: No, the Nation of Islam took a legitimate religion and bastardized it to all hell. There are very strong and legitimate reasons why Malcolm X left the Nation of Islam by the time of his death, and why the Nation of Islam is associated with his death. Malcolm X is a hero of many, myself included. Do not ascribe his deeds to Elijah Muhammad or the Nation of Islam. He is much more than that.

@@wlee9888 Define a "legitimate" religion? Who makes it "legitimate"....you? It was the enemies of Jesus @ Antioch that called those that followed him Christian, but Jesus himself never used that name ...is Christianity "legitimate"? Martin Luther in protest against the Roman Catholic church began the Lutheran faith....are they "legitimate"? What about Charles T. Russell, who began the Jehovah's Witness? Today 8.7 million people claim to be Jehovah's Witness...are they "legitimate"? Malcolm Little was a bank robber, petty thief and in prison, before he met Elijah Muhammad...that's a fact. Cassius Clay was just another boxer until he refused to be inducted into the army, following the example of his teacher Elijah Muhammad who traveled the same path nearly 30 years prior and served 5 years in prison for refusing to serve in WWII. Did you know that? Stop repeating stuff you've heard and become a critical thinker and do your own research. You judge a "legitimate" religion by its actions and the fruit it bears. Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali are two of the biggest Black men in the 20th century neither were raised in the Christian Church and both were taught by the same man. Is that a coincidence? Ali converted to Sufism later and rejected the cult teachings too. But this film is again abou there relationship IN the cult.

Yes it was also popular in the Early 90's too remember Malcolm X movie came out in 1992 by Spike Lee that's when everyone really started wearing the X hat's and t-shirt and the African necklace all of that was from the late 80's & early 90's.

I read Malcom X’s autobiography when I was young, outstanding book, not only to understand the man, but the stories of life in that era are absolutely fascinating. He goes into detail about the crazy process he used to straighten his hair and the nightlife back then, and it’s pretty wild stuff. Highly recommend the read.
