20 dollars and all the pharmaceutical companies make a lot of money and the clinics make even more, a whole round business and those who pay to receive that prescription 😢😢😢

$4,496.35 That is just the bottle of medication that is infused. This doesn't include clinic fees.

Seems like my lack of trust keeps me out of situations like this 😁I would donate live if needed but not to have it stored for future use.alot of people donate sorely for cash

There were multiple blood transfusion scandals in the 80's from aids to hepatitis to later Jacob Creutzfeld disease. Even today blood donors are asked if they lived there and there, received transfusion, had someone infected in the family...no need to feel bad. All those 6 people are glad it helped.

Imagine donating blood & plasma for years then later on in life you need donated plasma but you can't afford it. What a shame these generous ppl aren't given credit in those later years. This is a sad documentary. Happy for those that get needed medical transfusions & sad that they pay through the nose for what was given by donation.

In universal healthcare system insurance pays for blood, components and plasma made drugs. As long as there's enough donors there's no problem. Problem will come as there's less and less young, healthy people, willing to donate.

Best way is to boycot the blood collection. Never given blood, and do not intend to.. if I need it will need to pay for it anyway.. so why give it for free?

I sell my plasma. Its ok, it goes into research, thats good. Nothing wrong with it. Its the individuals plasma, let them decide. As for not getting money, iv always got paid out.

Well, you know the details and are making an informed decision. That's good. Problem is, few people know and most assume all the blood products are given to needy families in the hospital for free.

The document is partially true, I think the industry should come clean but to make plasma donation is exploitation is unfair statement. You don’t donate blood but plasma and paid $50 or so per donation. It’s too bad people who use drug donate without being discovered but the documentary here doesn’t explain what the effect would be. Another fallacy is, donors are drug users, you may find some among many so that but you can paint everyone on same brush. It does help people all around without compromising safety

Nobody is saying ALL bloody donator are drug addicts. However it seem that if you are a drug addict giving blood is easy to do. They simply answer no on the computer screen to question of are you a junky or do you have AIDS !
@anitagorse92043 ай бұрын
Plasma is processed before it's transformed into medicine. Whole blood is not, because blood cells would die. That's why donor screening is much more strict with whole blood donors.
