he is talking about Diuretics, the water expelling pills. However, as an avid follower of health issues, as I am also suffering from high blood pressure, I would say to differ from what Dr Bhurji is saying about advocating only about Diurectics, which are very old , and used to be first line of treatment. A Harvard health study on BP medications has advised for adoption of low dosage combo drugs, as combo drugs at low dosages do not cause any side effects. However, all other suggestions of Dr Bhurji are notable; like doign Yoga, non smoking, abstinence from Alcohol or doing Yoga for weight loss and especially decreasing the waist circumference, as the middle obesity leads to metabolic syndrome and which later progresses to High BP or a fatty liver and later into other cardiac issues or more serious liver issues. Here it must be said that current BP medicines aim not only at controlling the BP rather these prevent the progression of serious heart diseases as well. Therefore, to suggest only diuretics may be an outdated advice.

VEER JI I think u must contact with some other doctor n show him your whole BP history I mean tell him from starting very properly n clearly because he took further step according your history of BP n it's medicine. I think new doctor will change your medicine. MA sirf guess kr rha ha bcoz mere mother ke sath bhi same problem thi but after changing medicine she is feeling very well n she is 75 yrs old.
