I've been an outpatient in a hospital in hematology department for two years with low WBC. They couldn't figure out what's "wrong" with me and eventually discharged me, just monitoring every six months. I never ever get sick anymore after going vegan and adding vit. D supplements. I was stressed out about it until I found out that I'm actually outside the norm in a good way. Crazy idea - maybe they should teach this in medical school...

You should also check EPA/DHA since some people can't convert ALA to EPA and DHA efficiently.

Thankfully I found this out (low WBC) from Dr Joel Fuhrman years & years ago when he had a Q & A & I asked him about this always "kicking out" on my blood panels, & some med person told me I could be seriously ill. It actually SHOULD be low he said--a sign of health, a body at peace. YAY!!!

Me too I got sent to the Heamatologist for low wbc
@Phil-tn5ny

Did they tell you what they were worried about? We all know white blood cells fight infection and disease and all that from elementary school right? So how come they were worried so unanimously and referred you? Did you ask the hematologist the different possibilities of what this could mean, considering he's the specalist and there are many possible reasons?

@@Phil-tn5ny They send you to the Heamatologist because you’re slightly different than the normal for everyone else. So is it functioning properly? And it’s their job to not let anything go unaddressed. after years for me of the same levels with no compromise to immune function they concluded ‘it’s my normal’ They aren’t at all worried. I also haven’t had a cold in over 2 years. And I’ve never had Covid. As addressed in the video the low wbc is common in vegans .. I guess the wbc don’t need to be there to deal with all the ecoli coming in from chicken and meat. :) and endotoxins. The body can make wbc pretty snappy as required. So generally peoples wbc go up if there is an infection. And if there’s no germs from meat it keeps the levels to what they need to be for day to day function. So less needed than an omnivore. Just because normal is normal in society doesn’t mean it’s optimal health. Same as obese is becoming normal but that isn’t healthy. Slightly Low wbc is associated with longevity also. I hope that helps.

Thanks so much for this one, really interesting and helpful, been wondering why my WBC always seems low. Also think I notice the lower hemoglobin as I live at sea level and haven't been able to adjust as well to altitude as I used to before eating plant based. However, I have been having some skin issues like you talk about towards the end, does that mean my WBC is dipping too low or something?
