Cool beans! My 2019 tuned Arteon runs 4.8 0-60. It’s transmission is nothing but lazy. Took me a long while to figure out how to manipulate it. On a roll it’s the best sleeper I’ve ever had. Paid it off in 2022. Refuse to sell it though. It’s a fantastic cruiser for trips. ✌️

The OEM Potenzas on the IS500 are junk. I always swap to Michelin Pilot Sport 4s (Summer's) & the make such a huge difference from a dig.

Great video, Sam! very different cars and yet so similar. But we all know the M340i was going to kick everyone's rears. Xdrive, turbo plus more HP than claimed, makes it the benchmark in that segment and it's currently unbeatable (and I'm a Mercedes Benz fan). Those V8 never stood a chance. I guess their owners wouldn't trade speed for that V8 growl. Good stuff!

There's no way that 340i is putting out 382BHP...it basically did a quarter mile in the exact same time as an RS3 and it's supposedly putting out 382 HP 🤔 Not to mention that in the roll races that Lexus should've taken that 340i without even so much as a sweat. Good marketing strategy by BMW though, gotta hand it to them. Under promise, over deliver especially with those figures.

Amazing car but won't be a classic and in the same shape as say an IS500 in 10 years.. but I agree it's the benchmark for the price in terms of ICE performance.. One could argue in straight line performance, a Model 3 Performance is the best value. So, I guess it depends on what a person likes. If it's sound and feeling then maybe the Dodge with the old school big block... wait, did I just say that?? Resale and Japanese cool factor IS500.. Everybody likes something different. I have a tuned G70. Best bang for the buck IMO but much less $$ than these cars.

It’s called being conservative. They measure power when the engine is completely heat soaked, high altitude, and at the wheels. Thus, ensuring the consumer that the vehicle will make the advertised hp number whenever and wherever possible.

The roll race is a clear cut of just those numbers aren't nearly true...the RWD cars should've taken that AWD with "less HP".

BMW commonly makes their hp numbers very close to the wheels. That b58 inline six is right around 400 to the wheels. I had one. American cars are always quite a bit less to the wheels. Plus the bimmer has AWD. The m340i is the ultimate mid level luxury sports sedan and it’s been proven that engine can handle 1,000 hp with a turbo and fuel system upgrade. It’s an all aluminum block that’s built like a diesel.

I heard that AG1 was started by some scammer from New Zealand, who fled the country due to a real estate scam which hurt a lot of people there. Something's wrong with the Lexus. AutoTopNL measured the LC500 Convertible (so the heavier version of the LC which is also heavier than the IS500) on the german autobahn and with the racebox they did 10.7 seconds from 100 to 200km/h. And the same guys measured the M340i xDrive and the best result was 10.6 seconds. So how the hell IS500 is slower than the M340i ? PS: the old first gen IS-F did 9.9s 100-200. And it had like 420hp and 100kg less than the IS500
