So I completely love this game. It's so, SO good. ThunderScott agrees, so I decided to ask him to lay down some spanky bass groves and rhythms for this track. When it was all arranged it reminded me a bit of something I'd hear from ToxicxEternity's band Singularity, so I also bugged him to shred out a solo for this thing as well. The result - as you can see - is pretty fuckin' brutal. Plus it was awesome gettin the #sp00kycrew back together :')

I might have gone a bit overboard on this cover (again); I think this has more layers than any other cover I've ever done. My computer was struggling a bit towards the end there, and it even made Reaper crash once. THAT NEVER HAPPENS, REAPER DOES NOT CRASH. When I was getting close to being done, I had the idea of shooting at one of Grand Rapid's local chapels or cathedrals to accent the gothic / victorian vibe of the game and settled on the Fountain Street Chapel in the video. Shout-outs to the folks at the chapel who let me dick around like an asshole in their fucking immaculate building for a few hours. Also apparently my answer to looking spooky is to wear one of the two hoodies I always wear anyway BUT THIS TIME PUT THE HOOD UP

I love that "ringing convergence" heard between 3:37-3:43. It acts as an awesome mini-crescendo within the tail end of the song and evokes the feeling of the cleric beast's tortured scream. I hope that makes sense.

+Daniel Gavin good news is I usually release my covers for free if I can help it! some companies that hold rights to stuff I cover will demand royalties regardless of whether or not I'm making any direct sales from it, so I'll be forced to sell it at least enough to cover that cost. This is phenomenal! I'm also a huge fan of this game. I'm new to the "Souls" series, but I beat this game (all optional bosses as well) a few days ago. Cleric Beast was my first ever "Souls" boss and I nearly had a heart attack when I finally slaughtered it. This cover PERFECTLY captured that fear of death you have when you play this game. Mad props dude. I got Dark Souls II yesterday and I'm ready for a world of hurt. :)
