In this video I try to cover a major part of how I see A Song of Ice and Fire ending and what I think Bloodraven is actually up to. Is the 3 eyed crow's plan going to lead to the end of the world and Ragnarok? Is a song of ice and fire an end times tale straight out of Norse mythology? Was Euron a former student of Bloodraven? Is he currently a student of Bloodraven? Is Euron Crow's Eye secretly a Crow's puppet without knowing it? These questions and many more will be covered today as we try to make some predictions about how A Song of Ice and Fire will end.

Great. Bran was the only character from the "5 that will survive" from George's original outline that I was still 100% convinced that it would survive until the bitter end if the books ever get finished (altough Tyrion still very likely to survive, just not that certain). Now you convinced me that he is actually very likely to die.

I think theres another entity at play in their dreams. When Bran meets BR, he calls him the 3 eyed crow and BR responds "Crow?" like he has no idea what Bran is talking about. BR came to Bran as the tree in his dream but I think the crow is someone else entirely. Euron alludes to having had a flying dream like Bran had too but theres no weirwoods in the Iron Islands. If this wasnt BR, then who was it? None other than Leyton Hightower with his Mad Maid daughter, books of spells, and most likely a glass candle too. Most speculate Euron is going to destroy Oldtown. I think he and Leyton are going to form an evil union of Master and Apprentice. The name Leyton stems from the word "latent" as in hidden. So why would George hide this mysterious yet extremely powerful man in a seemingly magical tower for the entire series only to kill him off just he is introduced? He wouldnt. The true baddie of the story is about to make his entrance.

Even in The Hobbit/LOTR, the fact that Bilbo finds the ring, is theorised by Tolkien scholars to have been part of Eru Iluvutar's great plan (Eru Iluvutar being the "Main creator God" of the Tolkien universe). So even in the "original" Epic Fantasy, there is precedent set for a god manipulating things to cause the destruction of the Great evil of the world
@monkeyboy275bobo8

@@monkeyboy275bobo8 yeah from what I remember it was Eru who revived Gandalf in to Gandalf the White, and gave him access to more power than the other Maia were given access to in Middle Earth in that process. As when the 5 wizards (istari) originally came to middle earth, they were sent with only a fraction of their power they could access when in "spirit form". So the Valar and other Maia didn't end up having a Morgoth 3.0/Sauron 2.0 on their hands, as the valar felt that if they were able to access most of their power, they'd end up being able to hold extreme amounts of power/even more sway over the realms of men than was safe to have.
@pokeman5000

Honestly that just goes to show that Sauron was WAY more dangerous than Morgoth. Eru himself had to intervene basically twice to destroy the one ring. Once to send Gandalf back and another to trip Golem into the cracks of doom. Either that or Tolkien kinda wrote himself into a corner and had to bail himself out by saying "god power get rekt scrub". Morgoth may have been far more powerful but Sauron was far more dangerous. Morgoth corrupted people's form but Sauron corrupted people's hearts.
@eddymercan7487
@eddymercan7487 8 ай бұрын
@@pokeman5000IDK about that. Morgoth and Sauron operate on different levels, where much of what Sauron does builds on a base laid by Morgoth. Numenor goes full death-cult because of Sauron, for instance, but he only does that because Morgoth poisoned the idea of death in the minds of humans as something evil and horrifying that must be avoided. Morgoth also rather famously did corrupt a lot of good intentions along the way. Other than raw power I think the main difference is goal and methodology rather than how dangerous one or the other is. Morgoth wanted to own or destroy the universe and everything in it, and hated everything that wasn't "his". Sauron ultimately wanted to eliminate inefficiencies and optimise the universe in line with his own vision. Morgoth preferred brute force, Sauron preferred to work through treachery and deception - but ultimately both were highly capable in either. For example, the only people that overpower Sauron or force him to yield or flee either target him when he's very weakened, gang up on him (often while being some of the greatest and most powerful people to ever live), or are just that amazing. Meanwhile Morgoth poisons the Noldor against the Valar, corrupts humanity and many ainur, and leave lasting curses and ill-will behind him that lingers well into the 3rd Age.

If you love these fan theory videos, it's really no stretch for you to imagine reading a fan created, vouched for and incredible series of writings that finish the series. Even if George never does finish the my story, the world he first saw in his mind continues to be seen and experienced in all our minds and we may even ride a better rollercoaster that the communal asoiaf hive mind creates if the first man to visit that world can't finish telling it. I doubt anyone will finish telling stories in Gerth as they haven't stopped telling stories in the star wars or middle earth worlds

24:50 this comparison is even better, if you add, that the first line of the standard version of the epic, reads: "He who saw the Deep, the foundation of the world, and who knew everything, was wise in all matters, Gilgamesh." Like, replace Gilgamesh with Bran, and you have the powers and experiences that are expected for Bran to have in the future. A little correction is that, the order of events is. First, Enkidu dies, Gilgamesh realizes that, since his equal has died, he will die too; that's why he starts his search for eternal life.

Good Point, but ASOIAF doesn't only borrow from Norse Mythology, it also borrows from Egyptian Mythology. The Whole Story of Death and Rebirth is also prominent in the Story of Isis and Osiris and Seth and their Son Horus. This is why I think some images in the Books are actually Hints about who will play what Role in the Story. For example, I think that the Sphinx is an Image and a Hint towards working together for Survival, just like the Harpy in Essos is a Hint towards fighting together against Dragons. And it actually connects very well with your theory about ending the old way and starting a new Way. But some things of the Old ways have to die first, like Dragons and the Weirwoodtrees. Some things must be reborn and some things have to die forever. And the Sphinx is a Hint towards those People who will be important in this Process. The People with a lot of Bird metaphors and Imagery, like Sansa, Bran and Jon will be crucial for survival because they are also strongly connected to the food shortage issue. Sansa lives in Kings Landing where it comes to the Bread-riots, she overhears how Baelish talks about the abuse of the Food-Shortage to gain more Power and Money, At the same time, she is called Bird-names, goes on a Falcon-Hunt with Margery, etc. Jon is the same just with food shortages at the Wall, and he starts to negotiate with the Iron Bank for Credit for their fur to buy food in Essos. At the same time, he is called a Crow, that's what the Free Folk call the brother of the Night's Watch, Bran is nearly starved to death, etc. So there is a Connection between Birds and Food and how to solve that. The Lion in the Sphinx is probably a Hint towards the Death of the Old Ways. Lions and Cats were strongly connected with Death and War. We not only have a Family whose Banner shows a Lion, but there is also a version of the Egyptian lion god (Osiris had a Lionheaded God in his Judgement in the Afterlife, during its Peak Ancient Egypt had 49 Judges in the Court of Osiris, ask Wikipedia, you will get more Information about it) in the House of Black and White, here it is called the Lion of the Night and is a personification of Death. Also, the Lannisters have the most name-dropped killed family members, Stafford Lannister, Willem Lannister, Tywin Lannister, Kevan Lannister, Tyrek Lannister and we could also count Joffrey Baratheon into the Mix because he has the Name Baratheon but only Lannister Blood. And the Lannisters have also the highest Body count after Daenerys. Not to mention that Jaime is called a Kingslayer, Tyrion is a Kinslayer and Cersei is also a Kingslayer, Also Daenerys gets the Fur of a Lion and after that, she kills her Son to save her Husband, kills her husband to end his suffering, kills Miri Maaz Duur as Revenge, during her Conquest in Essos she kills Masters in the Slave cities of Slavers Bay, etc. So the Lion and the Death are also highly connected and probably point towards the People who will be crucial to ending the Old Ways. To restart Society you need to understand the old ways, you need to know what was wrong to avoid these Mistakes, and for this Knowledge stands the Head of a Human in this Sphinx. But the Head of a human is not a picture that can be found in the Story, but a Metaphor for the Head can be found. As Tyrion said "A Mind needs Books like a sword needs a grindstone" so People who like to read and are shown to read and surrounded by Books are probably who will be important here, so for sure Sam will be important in this Way. I should mention at the End of this long Comment, that the People in these possible Scenarios don't need to survive the Story, you can be important even if you die. I even expect some of those Characters to die before the End, without Ressurection.

I think D&D botched this in the show. In order for me to keep "Bran" as a character in my head, I truly believe that the "3 Eyed Crow" couldn't pass the Wall, which explains why Bran is still "Bran" while he was talking to half-dead Benjen while they were about to cross back through the Wall. And as soon as they do, Bran is now a complete robot. But D&D botched it. Smh. Also. GRRM points out multiple times that a crow and a raven are not the same thing (obviously), and yet so many people just jump to Blood *Raven* is the 3 Eyed Crow. Even though Bran has a dream where Blood *Raven* and the 3 Eyed Crow are in it at the same time. With Blood *Raven* calling to Bran as a Weirwood Tree while the 3 Eyed Crow is messing with him.

Thanks for the content, it really is thought provoking! I have a theory about Euron which is similar to yours, as far as BR’s manipulation goes. I am almost convinced that Euron went mad because of BR ( the three eyed crow). I think Euron was one of his choices to be the next greenseer, but saw hunger for power in him and never taught him how to actually fly. This may explain why he is addicted to the shade of the evening which has similar powers (and taste) as the wierwood paste Bran had to consume.. he is using the shade of the evening to “see” and “fly”. Plus he has the Dragonbinder, and he needs someone to blow it. Mind you, that the glyphs are said to be valyrian, and when the hoen is blown the glyphs glow in hot RED and hot WHITE! These colours connect the horn to the wierwoods and albinos such as Ghost, BR, Ghost of Highheart, etc. So I think that the dragonbinder is the horn of Joramund. It is also possible that the horn of Joramund is the other horn of the same dragon that the dragonbinder was made of. Euron is after Daenerys’s dragons, he wants to bind them to his will, and like you said in the video essentially become a god. The problem is that he is made of the sea, and dragons are made of fire, so they won’t like each other naturally. If the dragonbinder can make the dragons obey him, then they will obey him when he tells them to tear the wall down. Remember, none of the known dragons have ever flown over the wall before. So, he may as well bring it down. If Bran is the last greenseer, and the greatest wargs of all time, I think that he will be the only one who can stop Euron. Bran might be able to command the army of the dead and the white walkers. Especially if Jon becomes one of them. Since Jon is dead, probably warged himself into Ghost, the white walkers may want to bring him back as a whight. Melisandre’s magic could play at hand when Jon is coming back as a wight, that somehow Jon can warg himself back to his own body, thus becoming a fiery white walker (a son of ice and fire). And as such, he can also become the King of Winter. Under his and Bran’s command the whole north, including the Children of the Forest, and the white walkers, the wights and the wildlings, may be able to crush Euron. But I don’t think that Euron can bind Dany’s dragons to his will, maybe just one of them and not for long. Viserion is most likely to betray Dany, because her brother Viserys had betrayed her too, so if any of them, Viserion might the one that will obey Euron. If anyone can blow the dragonbinder it’s going to be either Jon, or Melisandre. Since Ser Beric Dondarrion is dead for good, these are the only two candidates who are not exactly humans anymore. I highly doubt that Ser Robert Strong would be willing to blow it, but if he obeys to commands, then he can be ordered to do so, so he is also a possibility. But why would he obey Euron’s orders? We have a slight idea how Cersei will turn out in the books, but we don’t know if she and Euron will ever cross paths. We shall see 🤓 This theory of course only stands if we see BR as a positive character, but there are theories where BR is the evil mastermind behind everything, so in this case Euron’s thoery changes a lot. If the three eyed crow is the main villain, then Euron becoming as mad as he is may as well come in handy. BR can reach out for Euron whenever he feels like, so it literally takes a dream or two to call him to the wall. With whatever forces he has. It is also possible that his madness is the doing of the three eyed crow this is why he is so convinced that he can always win. He wants all the magical items one could find in the world, dragons, valyrian steel, shade of the evening, because he is under the influence of the three eyed crow and he wants to “fly”. If this is the case, then when he goes to the wall to tear it down with whichever force he has

Geroge kinda makes it apparent that the Ragnarok theory really isn't a Westeros only problem. The Five Forts in Yi Ti essentially mirror the wall in function and there are multiple retellings of the long night from different cultures (the old Maester in the show explains this as well). The Mazemakers likely constructed Lorathi Labyrinths to confuse the Others and "break up" hordes of wights for easier ambushes. For the purpose of the story its surely going to be Westerosi's perspectives but there are clear indicators that the first long night was a global problem.

Bloodraven is ABSOLUTELY manipulating events. He is an "ends justify the means" type of character. I believe that he and Aemon would have had many conversations about prophecy while at the Wall, and that it is also possible that the "three-eyed raven" is a role rather than a character. Meaning there has been one controlling the Greenseers for as long as the Wall has been around. Why else would he need a replacement? Perhaps he thinks his work is not yet complete, and he won't survive to finish it, but his personal ambition is nothing compared to protecting the Greenseers from the corruption in the weirwoods. And why would he think to journey off into the wilderness if not called by the one he would replace? Bloodraven wasn't stupid.

It just takes a bit to get to the point where it starts to make sense. The 2 sentence version of any of the ideas will make people who are familiar with a lot of other theories go "wtf are you talking about and why would you think that??" But then the longer spelled out versions have a lot of hints and foreshadowing you can't unsee.

So essentially, Euron is Gollum? I find myself hesitant to fully embrace it, though I would agree it doesn't make sense and seems likely. In the last video Disputed Lands did, she made a reasonable argument that Euron will light a green fire at the top of the Hightower. As I pointed out in my response, it is very likely because the book is an interwoven set of 5 narratives that reflect eachother. For example, Quent was burned by the green dragon and now rests at the top of the pyramid in Meereen. A green burned sacrifice. So it would make sense for Euron to make something narratively similar to a green burned sacrifice in the Hightower. My issue is that I worry BR is being given too much credit. I actually prefer your argument the 3eyeCrow is Bran. I think BR is also being equally manipulated. As the narrative is a set of roughly 5 streams it may make more sense for BR to be playing a role similar to 4 other people rather than playing the same role in all narratives. This is my main issue with LmL. He's incredibly good, but he still sees the story as a single narrative with many echoes that reinforce themes. What he sees as echoes are parallels. There were 5 heroes in the original and likely 5 this time too. Each one just as important and going through a template journey in their own unique way. I really like your work. Perhaps some day I'll get the chance to speak with you.

Euron being Gollum does line up pretty well. The one who is obsessed with the power and ends up accidently destroying it in his attempt to take it. I do also kinda prefer the ending where future Bran has been manipulating Bloodraven who is manipulating young Bran. It gives Bran a lot more agency in his story and I do think his ability to send dreams to the past would allow him to be the one in charge of it all. I will have to check out the video about the green fire. That is interesting imagery as GRRM certainly does like his color symbolism. Thanks for all the comments on the vids and such.
@BeteBlanc
@BeteBlanc 9 ай бұрын
@@michaeltalksaboutstuff This is purely a thought exercise based on GRRM's previous work. A character called Dr. Weird, and his appreciation for Forbidden Planet. Dr. Weird was a character that managed to travel back in time and was shot and should haved died in the past. But for "reasons" his spirit couldn't actually die before he was born and acted as a hero until he reached the point of his birth. In a GoT sort of scenario, that "might" work as Bran actively having his spirit/awareness in the past and loosing connection because the tree was killed or he was separated in the present. This would force Bran to exist as a skinchanging spirit that couldn't "die" or enter the weirnet because he wasn't born. For example, he might skinchange the dead to have a body (perhaps Coldhands). He may be waiting for the moment Bran disappears in the past to return to his own body without having to share it. Kid Bran is gone and a Bran that's thousands of years old may replace him. It's not the young Bran stumbling around making changes, it's the older Bran knowing exactly what he's doing. It also deals with the "All Brandons are Bran theory." Again he doesn't go back, he's moving forward in something similar to what many theorize Roose Bolton does. You can probably take that in several other directions. BR sending him back in time with the knowledge of how to build the Wall and how and why to crucify Others to the trees perhaps. I think it works with Coldhands saying "your monster Brandon" if Coldhands is in fact an older version of Bran. It borrows from Forbidden Planet.

From what George has said, we expect the resolution of the conflict with the Others will NOT be the result of simply stabbing all of them with dragonglass, but will instead result from choices made by Jon Snow, Daenerys, Bran, etc.. It therefore makes sense to prefer a weaker Night's Watch and chaos in the south because it develops those characters & gives them power. If the Night's Watch was stronger it's less likely Jon becomes Lord Commander. If the chaos in the south doesn't happen it's less likely Daenerys births the dragons & less likely Bran goes north of the wall. Everything basically had to happen this way to prepare the major players, at the cost of fewer (useless?) rank and file.

When the Billy Joel song bubble popped up...I lost my fucking mind lol! THAT shite was hilarious! When Bran and co. {prolly did} eat people-they were in a very different situation. I really don't think the paste is Jojen. I am not sure Jojen is going to die-not yet. I think they plan on wrapping him into a tree, like those sad husks in the down-deep that Bran found on accident. Leaf isn't worried about Bran getting lost in an efing cave system that her people have been in for a 1000x1000 years. WtF. I do not give a fuck if he wanders for 3 weeks. They know THAT much of THAT fucking cave lol. I really do not think he was meant to find those husk-root peoples. I AM SURE though that Bran is going to loose his shit completely if he feels his friends lives are threatened. Especially once he reflects upon the Oaths he and the Reeds exchanged. Bran LOVES all of them-Bran LOVES Meera. He LOVES Jojen. He loves Hodor and Summer-this is WHOLE world right now. This is only going to be compounded by his shared crush on Meera with Hodor and his warging ability. If ANYTHING happens to Jojen-shit man. Honestly-I can see Bran and Meera and Summer and Hodor killing every living being in that cave. The way it is reading to me, I am not sure Bran will even be able to help it. Crow's Eye/Euron is difficult. Is he a Blood Raven broke-ass brain-child, or was he a Drowned God sea-seer originally? He talks about crows-he dorwned and went mad-I can't get away from how he compares to Patchface to me. Euron and Patchface-were both interfered with by Blood Raven, and driven "mad?" And why hasn't Euron sent anyone to look for Blood Raven? Dude has been to Valeryia-and lived. I don't think anything really stops Euron from going to GET Blood Raven if he had any idea how to find him. If Euron really knows that he is a living being that can be taken, he WOULD take him, wouldn't he? MoFo has Pyat Pree, etc. Don't get me wrong, I can see the CLEAR Euron-Crow's Eye/Blood Raven connections. But Crows and Ravens are different for being the "same." To tell them apart in a pinch; the Crow shines greenish while the Raven shines blueish. "Says the Raven to the Crow" is one of the coolest things said, on so many levels. I don't kow man-I feel like Bran is going to lose his shit when he follows where that "singing" is coming from. I feel like BR has underestimated Bran and it is Blood Raven who is about to get schooled.

He knew he would be sent to the Wall, it was part of his plan and he never protests his sentence to our knowledge; arguably expecting it by packing up Dark Sister and bringing along his Ravens Teeth archers to freeze and scheme with him. Blackfyre was already missing by this point so Dark Sister was the only remaining Targaryen family sword and should’ve been returned to the Crown or retrieved by Aegon V. His company of archers committed no crime and we aren’t lead to believe they’re complicit in his crime, but they take the black all the same.

That makes sense, often so much was added to the show for the drama but based on what happens in the books. We never see what happens at Hardhome but something happens, and we see Jon go to it in the show. D&D could’ve easily seen notes about Bran going near Craster’s and decided to write the scene where Jon almost runs into Bran there 14:11 . I’ve started to use the dragon show as almost this hobbled spine of what the books will become. Arya may not slay the Night’s King but maybe she will deal the true killing blow to the Heart of Winter. 15:48 ok is it me or does the description of Blood Raven here sound like the Emperor of Mankind. I’m still convinced there is a connection between Tywin and Lion El Johnson. 27:24 More are more I begin to see story moments from asoiaf pop up here and there throughout other media. Bran is the master of Summer after all, and with that what if Azor Ahai’s flaming sword is summer itself?

19:56 I wonder what your thoughts would be on Chett actually being the one to bury the cache with the horn he was Amens steward before Sam took that roll. He also plans staying beyond the wall and if he'd heard these things give protection or would fetch significant value to wildlings it might encourage him to bring it with him encase he gets a chance to break from the nights watch. The reason I say this is because around this time Chett and his mean have been caching supplies everywhere. One of the men starts making alot of noise about the snow covering there caches of food and other supplies and that they are dead now if they cannot find there caches. What are the odds that a random third party also dug a cache in this area at this same time. Why would George include this information of Chett caching supplies all around the fist of the first men. Thoughts ? Also if you look up golden cup or golden chalice flowers which are one of the flowers Chett gives the women he murders before killing her when she refuses sex. There is some very fascinating stuff about the real world lore behind it. The other flowers seem like abortion tonic when mixed together. I thought it interesting he spends all day finding certain flowers that seem to be used as a medical birth control or abortion medicine. Which seemed like him having this as a way to say hey you won't have a baby by me you sleep with everyone no risk to you. She refuses he kills her because not even with that as a bonus she still refuses him but says yes to everyone even without them having this. Anyway wonder what you think as why geroge put this in could it be chett or this is a misdirect

I think a big hole in this whole theory is the idea that Old Gods faith is somehow wholly revolving around human sacrifice, when we know it isn't true, at least not in the modern day in the books. Yes you can argue that the whole abandoning babies and Ned's cleaning his sword in the godswood it something alike sacrifice, but if the "Old Gods" were truly manipulating northern society as much as you say, don't you think they'd hold human sacrifice in much higher regard? After all, the notion isn't alien to Westeros: Drowned Priest perform human sacrifices also. I do agree that maybe Bloodraven could seek to end the Greenseers somehow, or at least fundamentally replace them at some level, but the idea that the whole system is tied together by blood sacrifice when such a thing is so hush hush doesn't track to me.

Who led Bran to the window in order to insure that he couldn't go off to war and get killed like all the Brans since the Night King have done? Blood Raven's father is never mentioned, but Brendyn is a bastard. The House he hails from is quite close to the North...and so many members have names like Starks. So the Night King Bran makes sure the new Brans go to war and never become Green Seers...but one bastard slipped by with a slightly disguised name, and now one cripple, eh?

Unfortunately this leaves out entirely Azor Ahai, dragons, and the Faceless Men. Dragons might be seen as mobile magic batteries which would oppose the stationary trees' anti-magic shells (they disrupt warging, after all). That's simple enough. Arya still needs to be sent by the Faceless Men to "free" the tree slaves who are not being allowed to die. A fire version of this was done at the doom of Valyria. Arya, not Bran, needs to return to the story to do this and take down the weirwood network. Azor Ahai - whomever that is - may be nothing more than the conductor of the symphonic orchestra that puts this whole thing in motion and brings it to a close at the end. But still, they have a significant fighting hero role to play that wouldn't necessarily be the story we expect from Bran or Bloodraven. While I like the idea that Bran has a role to play, I don't think we can simplify it to make him the kingpin for the ultimate change. There are too many other parts in play that aren't Bran related.

Agreed this isn't the entire story of how it will all go down. Bran is a main part but not the only part. The role of some other characters including the dragons, Dany and Jon and all the Azor Ahai stuff will be coming in a video soon. Hopefully when people see the next few major vids in the series they will understand why it's taken a minute to get together haha but don't worry it is coming. There might be a smaller video or two in the meantime, but my main mental efforts are going toward a major video that all revolve around a lot of the things you bring up that are missing from this one. Turns out tho there is a lot of research I have had to do to make sure I have everything in order and can make the most compelling case.

This reminds me a bit of Ender's Game where a child of the next generation is manipulated into unwittingly solving a humanity-scale problem. It would be interesting to see some parallel in Bloodraven not just physically/magically lacking the power to break the system, but his mindset from years past corrupts what he sees as the solution (and Bran has to be the one to concoct the ACTUAL solution - think Bloodraven trying to destroy the Others, whereas Bran might "kill" the others by letting them return to the greater hivemind/salt sea/weirweb) or following Bloodraven's plan through to its end is what reveals the true nature of the problem and leaves our heroes to come together and right humanity's wrongs (like Ender going off with the formix queen - note i didnt read the rest of the enders game books)

I think another, perhaps better example of the story than Harry Potter might be The Lord of the Rings which Martin has taken great inspiration from. The Nazgûl are basically men who were afraid of death and wanted more power and essentially became immortal bound to the One Ring. Generally a lot of interpretations of the story of LOTR is about death and cheating death. Going as far as making the One Ring a narrative symbol of death. Also: In the world of The Lord of the Rings originally two trees would light up the world and give it light and warmth. When Morgoth, the main antagonist, together with Ungoliat tries to destroy the trees elves created the Silmarils, magic gems which captured the light in them. And also at the end of the story we see Frodo and Sam are using the phial they got from Galardiel which has part of that exact light in it, it made their goal possible in the first place. Edit: Should have just waited 20 seconds before writing the comment lol.

That is an interesting question, there is always something it would seem that awakens the powers. I don't really have a good answer for what in Euron's past it could be, but that would be something worth looking into. Although I do think if Euron is just being manipulated he could be sent dreams without some trauma but he does seem to be more than that. He appears to have very strong powers and might even be warging his crew. Which if so he is crazy powerful. He has his one messed up eye, maybe something happened with that eye but I really don't know.

Meera was right... Bran "died in that cave" but I think he "was in Hodor" and then tried to go back to his body finding he could not as Bloodraven was now in it. Bran has to animal hop to get to Jon and warn him that the Brynden Rivers (Almost a Brandon, but very flexible, morally, like a river, and unstoppable and compared to time) is now on the throne and is not just "not him" but confirming Millisandras vision that Bran, Bloodraven, The Children and the Others are indeed all working in concert, though Bran did not know it. This would also confirm the "Blacked out" section of his drafts which describes Jon having to face off against "Evil Bran" for the throne.... Which would mean that Everything up til Season 8 was all "prequel" to the actual long night which they did not actually win at all. It seems clearly that there are many people and or gods all playing games with literally everyone... Is Rhellor Bran trying to fix things? Are the "Old Gods" that seem to come from space and be associated with certain objects that fell previously not be also involved? Or were they knocked out of the game by Bran the Builder, still stuck in Winterfell's heart tree down in the crypts and battling the children and their magic, his last adversary... He was likely the Three Eyed Raven from the books who woke up Brans powers initially before he was lead north by Bloodraven... Also why does Dawn not corrupt like other bloodstone objects? The killing of old Bran could rebirth new Bran as you predicted, but new bran is then tasked with making summer happen and lead the new age from the old ways. In fact, the expression "There must always be a Stark in Winterfell"... This passage, when read with your insight suggest there is a King down there, but also that Summer, Fenrir, wants to kill the tree/or Bran such as when Odin hangs and gains wisdom... "Summer stalked out in the echoing gloom, then stopped, lifted his head, and sniffed the chill dead air. He bared his teeth and crept backward, eyes glowing golden in the light of the maester’s torch. Even Osha, hard as old iron, seemed uncomfortable. “Grim folk, by the look of them,” she said as she eyed the long row of granite Starks on their stone thrones." Interestingly, several main images form from this.... All regarding Odin's long list of names... "Hooded One" combined with Grim indicates the Grim Reaper, Death and of course, Winter... "Enemy of the Wolf" means much more especially if that wolf is named "Summer". "father of men (or of the age/world)" That is Bran the Builder in the Stone Throne... and lastly..." Flaming Eye, Shifty Eyed" which may also back up the claim that OG Bran the Builder is Rhellor. 'Bale-Worker' or Evil Worker or Evil Deed may be directed at him... As could "Lord of the undead"... Also, as an aside, the names of the Stark Direwolve's also seems to denote the end of the characters.... Jon's is Ghost, for he becomes dead. Sansa's was Lady, since she becomes Lady of Winterfell... Bran's is Summer for he becomes Garth of the new age, Nymeria is an in game warrior god. Please feel free to steal any and or all of this. (a hat tip would be nice, but I'm not married to it :P )

Also, it just occurred to me that Bloodraven inside Bran tried to call "Jon snow" "Jon Sand" because he's actually a dornish bastard (making Denarys want to kill him like all bastards in line for the throne are often killed...) And then Samwell seemed to surprise Bran in that scene... Like.. Which is why Bloodraven had to go LOOK to see the marriage and realized, to his horror, that Jon is actually legitimately the rightful king and that this might be a problem, but it's too late to change his plan now. We would know he has to know WHAT to look for. A well kept secret never spoken of with most parties dead is literally hard to stumble upon.... Perhaps this was Bran the Builder's plan to get his body back and make Bloodraven think he won.

Also... What if keeping Bran "innocent" was not for his benefit but for Bloodraven's? It was not to keep Bran pure, it was so that he was shielded from these horrors because the truth and trauma would make him a more difficult "Hodor" to skinride. Hodor's innocence and willingness to trust made him the ideal person for Bran to skinride, and the only HINT that Bran even felt was not on the up and up was when he was in Hodor in the caves. If Bran saw them take out his friends brains and shit he would never see these guys the same.. Just as if Bran had grown a bit more before falling and became a dick 13 year old to Hodor... Hodor would not have been so trusting and open to Bran's mind... Look how "polite" he is when he takes over.... Hodor is an obvious Bran symbol....

Also, since you mentioned it, Euron/Auron refers to the Gold and or the Sun, Beauty, and Poetry.... He wears a full suit of Valeryan Steel Armour and Is directly pursuing Dany. As Established, Dany is the moon. She will wrap herself around him and I assure you when the time comes he will stab her right through the chest. He may not be the main character but the vision provided to him will put him on course to kill Dany, much like her absolutely terrible "luck" in finding the only "healer" who hates her guts killed her first Sun and the Stallion Who Mounts the World, it becomes foreshadowing to Euron killing the moon by the Sun, but this time her desire to "break the wheel" and free the World, is killed. "Euron does not want to marry Daenerys as his end or share rule with her. He wants her power, which goes beyond the dragons. His purpose in gaining Daenerys is ritualistic. Marriage is likely part of the ritual, but it is a means. The end is to gain her power through ritualistic sacrifice as a key element in his ascent to godhood. "

If the others are essentially a magical spell of mist that is projecting some life force like shadow babies are with fire/shadow then I could see a situation where basically like the dragon glass piercing the barrier of that spell could just break the magic because it is an opposite type of magic. Sort of like a balloon that is popped but only gets popped by the right magical knife. Basically if you stab them with something normal it wouldn't have an effect because it is breaking the ice but not the magic spell, but if the thing that stabs them can break the magic they are formed with all it takes is one stab and they melt away. Admittedly that is fully speculation but hopefully that makes sense as to why these fire magic things would break the others. Because they aren't like full ice people, they are projections of people made of magic and mist.

@@michaeltalksaboutstuff I can see that. One other thing that might be interesting to consider is the idea presented in the show of dragonglass being part of what "makes" the Others and being part of what can "unmake" them. I think there's something poetic about ice magic morphing into fire and vis versa (frozen fire and ice that burns) that feels satisfying and links to the idea of all magic coming from the same source or "root" if you will :) A linked idea (potentially) applying to fire magic beings could be Torrhen Starks' brother's idea to use weirwood arrows on Targaryen dragons. Not sure how the weirwoods would be related to the making of dragons though. One similar idea I can think of is that both weirwoods and dragon eggs turn to stone when not live or "possessed" by a single consciousness or hive mind. On the symbolism side, Norse mythology links Ygrassil/weirwoods and Niddhogg/dragons as they converge to bring about the Ragnarok/end of the world through Ice and Fire and its subsequent rebirth, as you've brought up multiple times. Specifically, Niddhogg, the dragon is trapped by Ygrassil's roots (much like you're saying the weirwoods trap society into worship of them) and the dragon knaws on the roots of Yggdrasil to free itself and bring about Ragnarok and the rebirth of the of the world (with Bloodraven playing the symbolic role of the root-trapped dragon bringing about Ragnarok). Again - LOVE your videos! They really make sense of the endgame and the fact that I thought of the whole paragraph above after reading your reply (and it makes sense, at least to me), makes me feel like you're onto the true endgame. Interesting, I admit I am no scholar on Norse mythology and only really know the basic levels stuff I have read over the years. Keeping in mind GRRM takes inspiration from places like this and doesn't directly copy them, I basically think the wall on some level is supposed to be like Ginnugagap and separating the icy realm to the north with the others and the fiery realm to the south with the dragons and dragon kings. When it falls they meet and the destruction and renewal play out in a cycle. I was under the impression the whole Norse mythology thing was also a big cycle so I kinda figured the ice and fire realms meet each cycle. Maybe I was just wrong on that but even still that might be a thing GRRM is doing even if the mythology doesn't quite play out that way. Does that kinda track with the way GRRM has things set up? I do assume many people in the comments are much more familiar with this than I am and always appreciate the insights.

@@michaeltalksaboutstuff Well, my interpretation was always that the myths depict the balancing act between order and chaos (and/or creation and destruction), which can very directly be symbolised with ice and fire. And the last line of Voluspå is indeed that chaos (Nidhoggr who gnaws the roots of Yggdrasil) too has survived into the new world, and thus the wheel will keep turning.

Can't have it be only ice destroying the old world in the song of ice and fire, it's likely both

It really doesn't make sense that bran can't warg his legs and learn how to walk again. Really seems like that should be in the power set, even if it's difficult

12:18 that scene that people believe Bran wargs or tries to warg Meera where he is in Hodo and thinking how he should tell Meera he loves her then she runs off. I believe that she runs off because she hears the children firing up there ritual sacrifice of Jojen . Jojen is missing in the scene we know her hearing and sight is far better then everyone else's. Shortly after her running off down the cavern Bran begins to hear the chanting singing of the children from below. The next scene we get with Bran is Jojen paste. We also do not see meera again once she runs off to I believe stop the sacrifice of Jojen. I feel like Bran is going to find Meera locked up being bread with since Nimble Dick says squishers eat male children breed with the females. I think this will be what gets Bran to discover the evils of the children and get him out of the cave. Obviously everything after Meera running of is speculation but what are your thoughts do you think this is why Meera ran off.

Baldur, starts out dead, in Norse Mythology hides out in the underworld, under the World Tree and survives Ragnarök. Bran the Baldur, I mean Builder probably "survives" as Bran the Builder reincarnated. The Once and Future King.

You combined the two different sections of the Gilgamesh myth as we understand it. Gilgamesh was the king who built the walls of ur. He was 1/3 god and 2/3 man he was tyrannical to his people, though. Enkidu was 1/3 man and 2/3 beast and he was terrorizing people in the wild. Gilgamesh fought enkidu for 8 days and then they became friends. Gilgamesh takes enkidu to the city and there he pays for Enkidu to know the pleasure of a woman. Enkidu knows the woman for about a week straight and is civilized when he and Gilgamesh meet again. Gilgamesh then decides to go to the Cedar Wood and fight Humbaba, prince of the forest. Enkisu comes with Gilgamesh and they traveled far to cedar mountain, but as they approached Gilgamesh had dreams that terrified him, like being gored by a bull, but Enkidu pushes him onward with words of confidence and comfort. They find Humbaba the prince of the forest, a monster of terrifying visage with entrails for it's face and a snake for a groin. They fight and kill humbaba and thus are able to bring the cedar home. But Humbaba was precious to Utu, the sun so the Bull of Heaven was sent to kill Gilgamesh for killing Humbaba. During the fight, Enkidu sacrifices himself for Gilgamesh, and gilgamesh defeats the bull of heaven. Now that Enkidu is dead, Gilgamesh thinks of his own mortality so he goes to find Utnapashtim who is the oldest man, and lived through the flood. Utnapashtim gives Gilgamesh a series of tasks that Gilgamesh is certain each time that he can complete, but each time he fails, finally Gilgamesh realizes that though he isn't immortal, the walls of Ur will last for many generations, and- Gilgamesh built the walls of Ur.

Yeah that is for sure the darkest thing he does but also he has no idea how taboo it is among wargs, we learn from Varamyr it is like one of the main rules and he is breaking it without even realizing how messed up it is.
