Alt mentions that Bloodraven might've warged the boar that killed King Robert. If you'll recall, Robert killed it with a knife through the eye, and called it a bastard. Making it a one-eyed bastard like Bloodraven. He even jokes that a god sent the boar. "Drove a knife right through his eye" "I killed the bastard, didn't I?" "the gods sent the boar... sent to punish me,." Also in a Clash of Kings Stannis says, "If someone said I had magicked myself into a boar to kill Robert, likely they would believe that as well." -

That's a great theory. Actually, the age of the three-eyed raven is completely irrelevant if he's capable of time travel and influencing events from the past. He could've been stuck in that tree for 1 year or a 100 years, doesn't change a thing. He's truly horrifying. The show got everything so wrong. I wonder if GRRM regrets doing the show. I believe the story with the Night’s King revolves around his brother killing him actually, it’s a story Old Nan tells Bran about how the Night’s King could have been a Stark and was killed by his brother the Stark King she implies that the Night’s King’s name could have even been Bran. They often portray thin characters as archers. In reality though size and strength are most important with the bow. Power depends on how hard you can pull back and greater size means greater draw length and therefore higher arrow speed. A faster heavier arrow not only has more power but also greater accuracy. English longbowmen were usually the tallest and most muscular people in the kingdom.
@Blackhawk2114 жыл бұрын

@@Blackhawk211 It does. Muscles take up a certain amount of volume so to get more strength you need more muscles. Though there is more to athetlic performance than just raw strength. The number of blood vessels is important for endurance and skill plays a big role. But with archery it's raw strength that's the most important. Also if the choice is between a long lanky person and a short strong one the short and strong one is better. Since a shorter bow can be drawn faster. That and also for archers speed and agility doesn't matter since they are not supposed to directly face their opponent. With melee soldiers agility matters a lot for sneaking in blows, deflecting them and moving around the battlefield. [SPOILERS] 8:15 also in Samwell III, ASOS at the end of the chapter there is a raven that helps Sam and Gilly to escape from a group of wights, here an excerpt: He crept to the door. The air was so cold that it hurt to breathe, but such a fine sweet hurt. He ducked from the longhall. "Gilly?" he called. "Gilly, I killed it. Gil-" She stood with her back against the weirwood, the boy in her arms. The wights were all around her. There were a dozen of them, a score, more . . . some had been wildlings once, and still wore skins and hides . . . bot more had been his brothers. Sam saw Lark the Sisterman, Softfoot, Ryles. The wen on Chett's neck was black, his boils covered with a thin film ice. And that one looked like Hake, though it was hard to know for certain with half his head missing. They had torn the poor garron apart, and were pulling out her entrails with dripping red hands. Pale steam rose from her belly. Same made a whimpery sound. "It's not fair . . ." _"Fair."_ The raven landed on his shoulder. _"Fair, far, fear."_ It flapped its wings, and screamed along with Gilly. The wights were almost on her. He heard the dark red leaves of the weirwood rustling, whispering to one another in a tongue he did not know. The starlight itself seemed to stir, and all around them the trees groaned and cracked. Sam Tarly turned the colour of curdled milk, and his eyes went wide as plates. _Ravens!_ They were in the weirwood, hundreds of them, thousands, perched on the bone-white branches, peering between the leaves. He saw their beaks open as they screamed, saw them spread their black wings. Shrieking, flapping, they descended on the wights in angry clouds. They swarmed round Chett's face and pecked at his blñue eyes, they covered the Sisterman like flies, they plucked gobbets from inside Hake's shattered head. There were so many that when Sam looked up, he could not see the moon. _"Go,"_ said the bird on his shoulder. _"Go, go, go."_

I like to believe that, after learning about Aegon's Song of Ice and Fire and the Long Night Prophecy, in an attempt of stopping it he awakened the powers of Euron (or of someone who took up his body), and started a chain of events that will end up in Euron (the Bloodstone Emperor incarnation) starting the Long Night he tried to avoid in the first place. So, his plan for Bran and John is actually a desperate attempt, guided by guilt, to stop the apocalipse he started.

Just watched the last episode, and could not stop thinking watching this video like months ago. Your analysis is so well thought that it feels like Bloodraven (Brynden Rivers) got what he really wanted by sitting on the Iron Throne at the end of the series. a small example of his master plan is that he is the one who tells Jon Snow, and Sansa (Arya) that he is a Targaryen leading to Dany and Jon off the table for Queen (murdered by Jon) or King (not accepted by the people because of killing Daynerys) at the end. This is an extremely smart move, something that even in your video isn't mentioned since it's so unexpected!! i mean even Martin didnt originally think that Bloodraven is the guy, he should really consider making this theory a reality.

It’s a lot more complicated than that. Einstein had a brain volume that was slightly lower than average. The male brain mass volume deteriorates after age 40, where as a on average the female brain shows little deterioration until much later in life. Women are also or more likely to be better multitaskers, which makes some evolutionary sense in that women had to take care of a multitude of things from, raising the kids, gathering certain types of food, cooking, cleaning, making clothes, doing repairs, dealing with tribal politics, and healing/medical concerns. Where as most of the men normally just needed to worry about hunting, village defense, and their masculinity. You could use the Encephalization Quotient. Brain volume v. Body mass. But that shows that women have about the same, if not slightly higher than average, EQ when compared to men. It also shows that dolphins and some whales have a larger comparative EQ to humans. At best, the brain volume issue might be a general predictor of an individual’s intelligence potential within there own species, if you use the EQ method and factor in a whole lot of other variables. At worse, it’s been a tool used to justify racial and gender superiority. In the end, it really comes down to brain capacity, complexity and density within certain regions of the brain v. age, genetic, education, experience and environmental factors of any given individual as to that individual’s intellectual potential or aptitude towards certain skill sets and reasoning, as opposed to that of their actual overall intelligence only being based on that individual’s brain volume, regardless of gender or ethnicity. So no, a woman’s brain volume on average is near irrelevant as to the way that you’re using it. And no, sorry but, “wamon ain’t stoopid”. Well, maybe just maybe, women are more complicated than men and some of us men can’t handle that. In which case it might be time for society to rethink the patriarchal system, because too many of us men seem to be either regressing or stagnating rather than evolving.

After watching this and not having finished the books, Bloodraven comes off as a total Odin reference, which I somehow didn't realize until now. Odin has his two crows, Huginn and Muginn, who scour the worlds finding secrets for him. Odin also sacrifices his eye in exchange for magic, and is said to see more with his one than he ever did with two. He also sees a prophecy for Ragnarok and tries to prevent it, but ends up setting up the dominoes for his own downfall. Euron seems like he's in a similar role to the wolf, Fenrir, the last thing Odin can see is his own death. Devoured by a great wolf. When it's revealed Loki has three monster children the gods take them back with them and Odin decides their fates. For the wolf child, Fenrir, Odin and the rest of the gods trick Fenrir and bind him with an unbreakable chain. Fenrir tells Odin that he could have been a friend to the gods, but now harbors hate towards them. Eventually when Fenrir breaks loose during Ragnarok, he devours the Sun and Moon as well Odin. This is before being slain by Odin's son, the god of vengeance, Vidarr. I definitely get similar vibes from your summary of Bloodraven to Odin with his whole "long-game stop the apocalypse" thing.

We have had this guy for FIVE EPISODES ONLY in the show, way too little if you ask me (there were a lot of episodes in which we saw Bran & Co. travel (which was interesting to see and I really liked) while there are ONLY FIVE EPISODES where Bran and the Three-Eyed Raven actually interact :S). Ultimately, season 6 left me disappointed concerning Bran Stark's storyline, which was hyped beforehand but turned out to be very underwhelming (things could have been more interesting, at least that's what I hoped for/expected given the long build-up and created hype). Sure we got a couple interesting flashbacks and revelations (and of course the superb episode _The Door_ ) but a lot of questions were left unanswered (or answers were left implicit)... e.g.: Why did Bran have to come all the way up to the Three-Eyed Raven in the first place? What exactly did Bran learn from him and what are his powers now? What was the Three-Eyed Ravens overall plan/goal (concerning Bran and on a larger scale)? Ultimately, he (Bran) became the Three-Eyed Raven but what does this mean/entails exactly? (again, what are his powers/capabilities and what is his overall mission now?) In the end it became slightly more clear to me due to reading online/watching KZbin videos, but based on the show itself it is rather confusing. So, let's hope Winds of Winter will be more interesting/insightful in this regard.

few more interesting questions : - why did TCOTF needed BR for ? what did he have that they didn't ? - what bran can do that BR couldn't ? - why TCOTF would sacrifice their lives for bran ? - how come BR didn't foresee the attack on his cave ?

Benjen tells Bran (and us - the audience) in S06E06 'You're the Three-Eyed Raven now' but the show does not make it clear/explicit what that means exactly (which causes my confusion to great extent). I had expected that the show would give us a lot more details in Brans Season 6 storyline; that the Three-Eyed Raven would really give detailed explanations (what he wants, where he needs Bran for, what he knows of the White Walkers etc.) and actual training to Bran (about magic, greensight, warging, etc.) (which I really had been looking forward to) but instead we only got those flashbacks (which were revealing and I really liked, but were overall not enough to leave me satisfied with Bran's storyline).

This video is an example how the information of the books may be analyzed and how you may create at least not bad ending for the TV show. Everything seems logical and connected. The three main plots (rivalry between Starks and Lannisters, Targaryen rise, King of the Night) should have climaxed probably in the battle of light and darkness (including mystical and magical powers). 3 Eyed Raven is evil AF. He's the real villain IMO. Been using everybody to serve his purpose. They're like chess pieces to him. He wants Jon to fight Dany so they wipe each other out. Then it's easy pickings after it's over.
@austenleversage56335 жыл бұрын
No no, he wants them to fight to create Azor Ahai. I almost think it was a bet between the 3 eyed raven and his lover/sister. That is why they are each on one continent and their actions are separate and almost conflict with each other. A Song of Ice and Fire, Ice being Jon Snow and Fire being Daneyrs. Neither is evil or good, they are only the ingredients to create Azor Ahai. However in the tv series they made Daneyrs go full bad guy, and shat the bed with the NK (which should have spread more throughout Westeros, and required greater combinations of forces + Euron Greyjoys collection of magic to actually defeat.) Imagine having to forcefully work with Euron to kill the NK after losing half of Westeros. It would have been much more epic. The tv series seems to be going "we are going classic, hero saves the day", and "other hero turn anti-hero that the real hero needs to stop" as the twist. I hope there is some mention in the final episode of Jon Snow being Azor Ahai. This is my theory.

Something that gives me the shivers about Bloodraven is that his one red eye is described in a similar manner to the eyes of Melisandre and Lady Stoneheart. For all of them their eyes are like the most alive and powerful part of them at first glance. Catelyn literally looks dead now, but her eyes are described as powerful, red, kind of glowing and terrifying, very similar to Bloodraven. Could there be some connection between the powers of the Lord of Light and the powers of the old gods, despite Melisandre viewing the old gods as non-existent (when Bloodraven and the children of the forest explain otherwise), and their servants such as Bloodraven and Bran as servants of the Great Other? She's been known to misinterpret her visions. Also, through the show it is suggested that Melisandre is actually an old crone disguised by her glamour, with her ruby throat necklace thing. Perhaps the ruby does actually keep her young, not just change her appearance. When Jon spars with Mance, thinking its Rattleshirt, he notes that Rattleshirt is faster than he ought to be. We later realise it's because it isn't Rattleshirt. So Melisandre if she's just using a glamour should be as feeble as an old woman right? But she's not, so maybe she's using something else. Perhaps she is keeping herself young and an effect is the red eyes, similar to Bloodraven, who never technically died, just like her, but became akin somewhat to a wight just like Lady Stoneheart. And the wights of the Others have eyes described in a similar manner, just blue. Perhaps that could indicate the difference in the beings behind such powers. It will be very interesting to see what happens if Jon is resurrected in the books too. I doubt it will be like the show. He will be changed, physically and mentally. The question is how much? Lady Stoneheart seems to be so fucked up physically because she was rotting in a river for days, as for mentally, the time may have done it, but also she was resurrected using the life of Berick, who'd been a shadow of himself after six resurrections, struggling to remember his former life, and if I remember right, he didn't eat or sleep, just like Coldhands. The question is, if Melisandre resurrects Jon, how well is she going to do it? Is Jon going to be obviously dead like Catelyn? Or is he going to appear alive like Berick, but not truly be so? Is his death, the betrayal of it and all his years of pent up anger he's finally allowed to unleash on the Boltons and Lannisters (as death frees him from his oath) going to turn him into a monster? Will he still be able to Warg with ghost? That one is very important in my opinion. That will be another link between the old gods and R'hollor, as Brydnen despite his condition seems to still be able to skinchange. And also, will he be able to warg into Viserion?

Although the show didn't go this deep into Bloodraven's history it does in retrospect make the end a bit more disturbing..........and less disappointing. Hopefully, Martin will flesh out this idea more whenever we get the last two books.

Azor Ahai is such a legend in the GoT universe that I can't help but be reminded of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Maybe this character and maybe some of his underlings are really just reincarnations of previous entities. Maybe John Snow is just the new Azor Ahai.

d j I don’t think you grasp just how extensive the lore is and how impractical it would be to incorporate into a 10 episode or less per season show. The lore and show are two different things.

Pierre Cano azor ahai isnt a focus of the show that much, just something mellisandre seems obsessed with. Maybe you think it is because the community keeps trying to guess about it so much, but in the shows its such a background thing not so much a huge reveal sort of thing. I dont think we even heard the full prophecy on the show at all. The books & the show are two different stories now because grrm didn’t finish in time. Dont think of it as your story ruined, you’ll still get it in the books. As for the tv story, i love that they made it Arya, it was visually pretty badass, and honestly I don’t think its fair to think Arya trained with assassins and on her own and went through that huge journey just for her big thing to be to kill an old man with his guard down (show version obvs)

@Chiaros5 жыл бұрын
Didn't you hear? He's Azor Hotpie, the Pie that was promised! If not for him, Arya wouldn't have killed off the white walkers. And King Bobby is the reason Arya and Hotpie met, so it's all really well written. Indeed, indeed.

It's a good thing Arya didn't ask Jaqen H'ghar to kill the Night King, because then there wouldn't have been any dramatic showdown at Winterfell.

So in the end... The Night king and the Blood raven. Where the oldest players in the game. • The Night king was just trying to stop him, before he got to Westeros/beat him to the throne. •The Bloodraven basically killed Bran/overtook him, let everyone do his dirty work for him, believing he's still Bran...somewhat •Then finally got the Night king killed by setting a trap for him and getting Arya the flying ninja to shanked him. • Got the throne and will continue to let everyone think he's still Bran, never really letting them mourn the death of their brother.😳 I'm not gonna lie, l honestly just thought DandD picked Bran at random from a hat, to be king but maybe...just maybe l was wrong and they did actually care about, some of the lore of the show. 😂🤷♀️
