I just think that the logistics would also need to be accounted for in that scene. There would need to be something that will fight the group of white walkers that will 100% be alongside the Night King otherwise it's very convenient that he is alone to fight Bran. That could be done via Jon and other valyrian sword wielders. Apart from that, it's a great idea and is much better than the stupidity D&D pulled.

I got goosebumps at this specific idea and imagining how that fight would look, especially if visually the scenes would cut every once in a while and you have a different actor playing the part of the fighter.. like cutting from Jamie to sir Arthur to ned stark and jorah,, and maybe the last blow would show that it's brans' actor yielding the sword.. that would be epic

D&D could have got help if they wanted plot lines, and scripting for interesting conversations. They clearly understood what audiences generally wanted and what worked for a television show. So they were still valuable to have around. It's literally they just didn't care about the show or their careers anymore. It's really odd as anybody else in a spot of being offered 6+ years of guaranteed job security in a very technically challenging position they loved for 3+ years would be thrilled to stay put.

@@swaggery This is exactly what I've been thinking. There's no way the same writers who improvised Tywin and Arya's scenes just became so bad suddenly. The obvious and logical truth is they stopped caring. They were handed a lot of money to produce up to 13 seasons if they wanted to and hire a capable team of brilliant writers (including GRRM) to help them make this the greatest TV show in history and cement their legacy. But no, they were banking on the promise of Disney to write their own Star Wars story. They took something that was so special to millions of people and turned it into complete dog sh*t. I'll be honest, watching Supercut's videos on this show feels cathartic for me. I'm basically pouring out all these emotions of anger and it feels like I'm punching anything in sight. @StefunnyStrange10 ай бұрын
This rewrite gave me chills! Like holy s**t was this AMAZING. It kinda makes me angrier though… about what _could have_ been if seasons 5-8 had competent writers and those two doofuses weren’t running the show into the ground. I don’t even expect D&D to think of anything this great because they’re just NOT this smart or creative. Still, they could have AT LEAST brought a writer in to assist with wrapping everything up. But D&D were just too big-headed and too ego-driven, and they just HAD to be the ones to finish the story and be the ones responsible for subverting everyone’s expectations. 🙄 And it was a colossal FAIL. I’m glad their selfish decisions led to their reputations being ruined and losing the deals they neglected the show for like Star Wars. Many fans trusted them to do this show justice so I don’t care that fans are still harassing them about that god-awful ending. They deserve the hate they get. If you are reading a script to the cast and it is jarring to the majority of them and you see a room full of negative reactions, which we clearly saw behind the scenes during the table read…only an arrogant FOOL would choose to still move forward with this story. If your cast is laughing, looking uncomfortable and appearing dumbfounded while you’re reading the script, it may be time to scrap that scrip! But D&D were just too arrogant and thought they knew better than everyone else including George. The audacity!. I remember once they even suggested in a BTS clip that they enjoyed NOT listening to the cast and ignoring their concerns. For instance, they enjoyed killing off Selmy after the actor confronted them with his concerns of killing the character after he read the books. It was like a sick game to D&D. They enjoyed playing God. Anyway, this ending didn’t just fix Bran, it also wraps so many other plot points up as well. It also ELEVATED scenes from earlier seasons. This would’ve had fans going back again and again to rewatch episodes and try to spot the clues they missed. With each great idea you had I was like “F*CK!” and would throw something across my room in frustration. This fix made me excited and angry at the same time.

My favorite part was when “Bran” was dueling the Night King and how he used all the best parts from the great swordsman of Westeros. It’s so satisfying because Bran always dreamed of being a knight. I hope George sees this video. Peace ✌🏻 P.S. I still think Bran would make a better Hand to someone like Jon or Young Griff, but he's probably going to be king.

@jimm6070110 ай бұрын
I think you touched on, but ultimately missed a very important opportunity with this. If the route you were going here was to have Bran warg a dead person, and show hints towards the Lord of light.. i think you should go all in. Dont have bran learn "influencing the past is bad" have him simply learn that the night king is a threat if he's traveling earlier than a certain point. Have him travel to the past to learn and experiment, understanding that past events are fixed things he can't change, but can be involved in. Have him learn how the night king resurrects people, and have him experiment with it himself.. on derric dondarian. In my mind this makes the battle of winterfell a two parter. Part 1 is essentially what we got, right up until the night king swings his sword down and its blocked by an unseen sword. Part 2 skips back to bran saying he needs to go somewhere, and is bran exploring past events. His careful observation of the night king learning how to resurrect the dead. Bran trying and failing a few times to find the right magic to do so, he learns the reason the former apprentice took on the mind of the first white walker was to hijack the magic of the children. Bran can't do that, so he looks elsewhere, to a modern magic, and he finds dragons. We learn that bran interferes with the funeral of Khal Drogo, he becomes the intent behind its magic that allows Dany, not to survive being burned in the flames, but to be revived from her death in the flames. He draws power from the dragons in the pyre and this in turn awakens them. From the point on, Bran is drawing his resurrection magic from the dragons. We see a flicker of red in his eyes. We then move forward in the story, see bran successfully resurrect Berric Dondarian, explaining how Thoros supposedly did so without intent. We see other examples of bran experimenting with the magic, learning that much like the night king, warging into someone you have resurrected becomes much easier, as though they're bound to you, and we see a quick montage of him spreading prophecy in the same way the night king did, through seers and dreams, prophecies about the Prince who was promised... before finally seeing him stood above Jons corpse. Watching Melisandre trying to work her broken magic and faith to resurrect him, Bran simply raises hand, and Jon gasps. With that gasp we are back in Winterfell, brans warging eyes now burning red as fire instead of milky pale, and we follow the blade to see Jon, with the same eyes. Jon, previously unable to best the night king now stands there, warged by Bran, and the fight ensues as it did in your version. Bran taking advantage of the knowledge of better fighters, allowing him to finally overcome the night king. Jon is released, but disturbed, he feels betrayed, violated. He can't look bran in the eyes, and struggles to even find the peace of mind to celebrate his great victory. I think doing it this way helps in a couple ways, but the biggest is that it gives a weight to the prophecies. The Princes who was promised was Jon, but.. for all the prophecy came true, Jon was merely a tool, a sword for the one who was guiding those prophecies. It would also set up Jons choice to leave better. He's not just exiled to far north, he also doesn't want to be around Bran. Bran, also, happy to have a sword in the North, should the threat not truly be gone.

I absolutely love it. Is there a reason, you stopped at making Ser Jorah's eyes red? It seems like it was a short detour to make Bran the true power behind the R'hllor, Lord of Light, which would make the dark pupil, the Great Other.

One criticism. The Long Night needs to be long. Multiple battles. Multiple losses. Driving the living further South. Increasing the Army of the Dead. And the Night King's death shouldn't mean the death of all the White Walkers, just a majority of the wights. The rest of the White Walkers should still control their small divisions of the Army, and each must be taken out. There's a fanfic called "Ned Stark Lives" which does the best job I've seen of making the Long Night actually a long drawn out and desperate affair, while still maintaining military strategy and political intrigue (though those 2 are not on the level of GRRM)

I love all of this except the worg into jorah, i think a more appropriate choice would have been beric dondarrion. It fits the red god theme, the death and resurrection theme, the swordsman theme etc. the only issue being beric would need a valyrian steel sword, but that could be setup earlier as well.

Unbelievably creative story telling but one thing I would change would be for Bran to warg into Jamie. Would be poetic for him to be the one to save Bran after pushing him out the window and would allow Jamie to be the unbelievable sword fighter that he was before he's right hand was chopped off.

Anyone killing the night king other than jon snow would be idiotic as one wrong or unfulfilled prophecy is subverting expectation and could be a great surprise but ignoring 5 or 6 prophecies each one confirmed the other and all of them pointing to jon is just bad writing and that's why jon parents reveal is a big deal because it's like the last piece of the puzzle which removes any confusion about azhor ahai and showing that jon's moral and actions were always aligned with his destiny and his tragic life prepared and positioned him perfectly to fulfil his goal and destiny Lastly I think brann becoming an emotionless potato was a bit weird as he should be weird and depressed but brann stark dying in the cave didn't explain his demeanour especially when we saw the previous 3 eyed raven who held the burden for way longer than brann and no one could be drastically transformed in an instant no matter the circumstances

11:59 isn't it common knowledge in Westeros that Daenys the Dreamer foresee the Doom, prompting Aenar to move the Targaryens to Dragonstone?

Bran influencing the past made me think of the Knight of the Laughing Tree and how Bran wanted to be a knight even just for a day. I also think Ser Jorah dying and then revived is possible since it also happened to Benjen Stark but they used dragon glass to prevent him from fully becoming a wight. Bran being the king will also allow him to nurture future three eyed ravens with ease.
@caseyhart499910 ай бұрын
My only problem with the idea of Bran being the knight of the laughing tree is that I was always under the impression and there’s significant evidence to back this up that is that Lyanna is the knight of the laughing tree which is really cool imo.

David and Dan are insane. They already had everyone hooked to the show due to the amazing dialogue and complex story telling of George. They didn’t need to keep fantasy elements to a minimum they needed to listen to George and not just think they can do everything better.

I disagree, an omniscient character is easy to write. D & D can write the story in anyway possible with any outcome they choose first, then add Bran in to guide the story down that path. The problem is, they abruptly had him announce his goal with no context.

Instead of him warging into an undead Jorah, how about he wargs into an undead Jaime? Jaime could die somewhere before that (maybe while protecting brienne). I think it would be very poetic for Jaime to be the one to "save" Bran, when he was the one who pushed him off the tower.
@darrenevanherison344110 ай бұрын
great idea. it would be really touching not only for the audience but also the characters, imagine how arya,sansa and the rest of the characters would react and at the same time jaime sacrificing himself brienne is really great cause brienne was one of the main reasons why his sense of honor (however if jaime gonna die protecting brienne then their love confession in episode 4 probably will done earlier, cause jaime and brienne will be more protective we each other and jaime's death tragic for brienne AND jaime/bran being the one to kill the night king makes him earned the titel Kingslayer HOWEVER instead of humliting title he will be remembered as the man who killed the night king (even tho it's bran warging into him it's still fells great thinking about it) and jaime's first kinglsaying saved an entire city, but this time his second kingslaying saved the entirity of Westeros.some book fans even believe jaime is the prince that is promise azor ahai. even thought this is a touching end for jaime's characther (or jaime's body should i say) i think we should keep him alive couse king's landing subplot. REMEMBER THE WILDFIRE THAT THE MAD KING WANTED TO USED TO BURN THE ENTIRE CIT OF KING'S LANDING IS STILL THERE AND IN THE BOOKS, THERE IS PROHECY WHERE CERSEI IS KILLED BY HER YOUNGER BROTHER. at first glance this "younger' brother might be tyrion, but many book fans believe it's jaime cuz he came out of the womb after cerseri and this could meen in the books cerseri become the "mad queen" (i could still be daenaery thougth) so jaime might have to save the king's landing a second time killing his twin. jaime had loved cercsei and shit on honor since book 1 but in book 3 and in the show after he lost his arm, jaime lost a part of himself and he must face his past trouma and become a more honorable man.

I think if we would keep the narrative of Arya killing the night king, we could make the evil three-eyed raven a past disciple of jaqen h'gar who went rogue, like arya. There could be a dialogue with Arya and jaquen in which he speaks of a student from long ago who became obsessed with the many-faced god, and tried to become this persona of death, ergo, he become the three-eyed raven to gain knowledge and becomes the night king to be the closest thing to death. And arya, with the training and bran with the knowledge, can both work hand in hand to defeat the night king

This rewrite is pretty good, but I really wish people would stop quoting Bran when he says "Robert's rebellion was built on a lie." It wasn't. Lyanna's alleged abduction was far from the only thing that motivated a rebellion from half of the kingdoms. I swear people just forget that Aerys burned people in the throne room for fun, including a high lord and his heir, because Bran declared the rebellion as "built on a lie."
