A super power that we give AI to speak to all the animals that we eat or skin, to speak in an unknown unknown language.

Not a hidden mathematic structure. Its like double abstraction: the relationship between the term to describe a female sibling and female parent will have the same relationships across any "space" (language) that make use of those meanings - if we didnt have the specific terms, how many of the same concepts would be used to describe them uniquely? "Female" and "related" are 2/3 most important terms, the same, and the way "female" relates to other terms will be the same in all languages that use those terms (like queen, grandma, aunt). Could call it anything, the word itself is a symbol, but its relation to all other words is what gives it meaning.

I've always assume there must be additional information in birdsong among a community of birds (like reporting what they observe), as it is quick the risk to keep signaling where you are to predators. Perhaps AI can find something we've missed.
@lawerancelanham
@lawerancelanham Күн бұрын
After pondering for a moment, I'd think you would need to know every reaction to a given signal from a particular animal. Even then it's going to be generally assumed responses or results

I think you’d need to ask animals to perform basic tasks a number of times and expect them to perform that same task at least 75% of the time. Or if there a usual response to a call getting that call back. It’s non verbal but for example a wolf responding to a howl with a howl but extrapolated into much more specific language.

This is nonsense. Any farmer or smallholder knows that we can ALREADY communicate with animals. The main point is that they have their world and we have ours .. and they are happy to say Hello but then they want to move right along.

Anton Petrov a science communicator on KZbin has a video about plants making noise when we damage them, cut them up ,(such as onions) and when they go unwatered . apparently they do communicate, quite loudly (up to 130 decibels), but it is above our hearing range (800 - 10,000 hertz ) so greater than 10,000 hertz
