People shouldn't mock this guy. He's humble and strong enough to talk about it openly. This really speaks to the cause of poverty. It has to do with one's ability to manage money. This is precisely why giving money to the poor doesn't work. This happens with lottery winners as well. This is an education issue and a values issue. I personally know people on extremely modest income that are well off, and people with very high income who are broke.

not necessarily true... some people are honestly happy with a 100 million or 20 million. I see the point you are trying to drive home though. I personally want between 5 - 15 of liquid assets. That should tide me over until I retire and allow me to live a very very very comfortable life and never ever have to work or want more. It is also obtainable too. Yes living a great life is important but you want to live a long life that has a good quality for a long period of time. If you have kids you need to be able to send them to school give them the best... Again I know what you mean and what you are trying to say but unfortunately you need money in a lot of cases even just a bit to enjoy somethings in life. You want to go on vacation you need money. You could spend all your money and have the best day of your life or you could be smart and spend way less and have many good DAYS in your life. You could also do good with the money. For example I want to one day start an educational foundation for the under privileged youth. It is a lot easier to get other peoples money to put towards scholarships when you can tell them HEY I put 5 million of my own money.

His story is very inspiring. To most of the people that are watching this and didn't know yet, Antoine has already bounced back from bankruptcy. He's now an analyst on FS1, and he also gives financial advice to young athletes - keeping them from making the mistakes that he did. He had a humble beginning, got drafted, became an all-star, an NBA champion, and then became bankrupt almost overnight. Not only was he willing to admit to the mistakes he made and blamed no one else, he also did not give up, and now he's bounced back. Kudos to this amazing man.

@HP3TV8 жыл бұрын
This is not uncommon. Like any other discipline, one must be taught how to manage money. People from affluent families are taught from an early age, so it becomes a second nature to them. In this man's case, his mindset was based upon an environment of limited resources as a child. People with less tend to emulate the materialism that they see of wealthy people in the media, without understanding the process behind the imagery. When a person who is undisciplined in finances becomes rich, they blow it on status-defining materialism. I'm sure the demands on him by his family and friends to upgrade their lifestyles was pretty stressful as well.

I like high-end cars and maybe even a special home but at no point would I take a check and go straight to a real-estate agency or car dealership. A bugatti is nice but unless you're convinced you aren't someone who is trigger happy with their wallet you shouldn't live outside your means. A $750k home and a $50k car should be enough for a nice life. After that it should be the people in your life who give it meaning. Be grateful you can buy groceries every day and afford to pay your bills and sit down and watch T.V or a movie with your family without worrying about work, unpaid bills, or the car. I think that's one of the creature comforts people take for granted.

I cannot tell a lie. 110 million is a TON of money. But truth be told, I squandered thousands upon thousands of dollars on various things because I didn't have a plan for my money. I cannot judge this man harshly for I can relate in a way. In the end it's not the amount he lost that matters. It get clicks for sure but poor money management has made fools of us all. Hats off to him for owning his mistakes and moving on. He can be wealthy again.

I suggest putting, most of the money into, dividend paying stocks. Keep some in a moneymarket fund, to take advantage of cyclical stocks, and put some into a small business that your passionate about. Go talk to a good financial advisor.

Real talk here: I was a bartender/manager at a high-end, hip-hop based night-club in Chicago, dubbed the "The Ice Bar." Hence, I had the privilege of meeting Mr.Walker, quite a few times actually. And, I must say, Mr.Walker was EXTRAORDINARILY kind, generous, and good-natured. Mr.Walker took it upon HIMSELF to MAKE-SURE everyone was having a good-time. If he had a 1,000$ bar-tab, he'd leave 2,000$ EVERY-TIME. Meaning, he'd leave a 1,000$ TIP to the staff at the club. He may be "broke" now, but MANY people (who have had NDE's) report that when you pass-away, your life is "judged" and EVERYTHING you've done is reflected upon and reviewed. Then, Mr.Walker will get to see, first-hand, how many people he affected with his kindness and generous actions...

This man is a hero for the economy. He is a super rich person who spent his money back into the economy. There needs to be more people like him. One person's savings is another person's debt. If Antoine had selfishly held onto and hoarded his money, then others won't be able to pay down their debts.

people who save thier money normally have it a bank or an invesmtnet fund, that money is then lent on to people to grow thier business, buy a house etc etc (i.e it is useful too)
@mrzack88810 жыл бұрын
Fred Falke still a loan. it's better to spend it than to lend it. That spent money becomes somebody else's savings so therefore the super rich doesn't need to have all that money in the bank and does the economy good when spending their excesses. Also, banks dont need your savings to lend. Banks loan first, then that loan becomes somebody's savings.

Allow my kids to blow all the money they receive when there 21. When they are broke and out of luck hopefully they will learn a valuable lesson about spending wisely and give them the rest of the money I saved for them when there 30.

A lot of fancy cloths, parties, women, drugs and very few even tipped me. They would argue about how high my meter was and some even threatened me if i didnt turn it off.others gave me bad credit cards. I had no choice i never wanted to end up dead on the streets of los angeles. Imagine my commercial insurance was so high almost 600 a month, plus maintenance, plus gas, plus licenses.
