A lot of it comes down to how each person is viewing the potential metagame and/or decks they are expecting to play. In the end, none of us are going to likely be better than 60%-ish correct.

At 23:13 to 23:44, theres a slightly audible ad for Lexus in the background. So some interesting lore about Bloomburrow: their season's aren't determined by the changing of the weather but by the emergence of Calamity Beasts whose presence causes the seasonal changes. As a result, they name their seasons after the generalised effects/powers of the Calamity Beast that causes the change.

Today's favorite is the bounce frog, there are sooo many good cards with good triggered abilities when resolved, but that don't hold up on the board. I think the best card of the day was Innkeeper's Talent, but I'd be lying if I said my favorite wasn't Colossal Dreadmoose.

Innkeeper's Talent would also give your planewalkers ward correct? And could be used to double their counters? Seems like something that could be reall cool

Exactly what I was thinking, yeah. I'm hoping to see a mono-green resurgence and this could be a solid contender to make your stuff harder to kill.

Yeah, the 2nd and 3rd level have far more applications than just buffing creatures with +1/+1 counters. At level 2, your planeswalkers get ward. Your battles get ward. Your sagas get ward. Things with oil counters get ward. Lands like Blast Zone. Even other types of counters on creatures like shield of flying counters. Then as you say, at level 3, planeswalkers will gain loyalty faster. Sagas will progress through their chapters faster. Also, player counters double, so poison counters from toxic creatures or spells that give poison counters double.

I'm going to wait a few weeks after this set releases before I craft anything. With OTJ, everyone was getting hyped up for Gisa and Colossal Rattlewurm. Now they're practically unplayed and cards like Three Steps and Ancient Cornucopia are the premier cards of the set. That being said, I am excited for some of the cards from the set, like that red 3/3 that can disable lifegain. That card is going to be hated lol. I also like dawn's truce for control, I think it might see play at like two copies to protect token generating Planeswalkers. Interesting stuff!

I was looking at the cards that have come out and it’s seems that each color pair has its own creature type that only really appear in those colors Azorious: Bird Orzhov: Bat Boros: Mouse Selesnya: Rabbit Dimir: Rat Izzet: Otter Simic: Frog Rakdos: Lizard Golgari: Squirrel Gruul: Raccoon Keeping this in mind should help understand which other cards you would play in each different creature type decks.

Stargaze is a bat 😢 It even says so in the flavor text. #batsbesttypal Bats have multiple cards referring to stars and the cosmos in this set. They must be some kind of mystical seers or something.

that 1r mouse is crazy. you're playing random 2/2s with haste in mono red to begin with, and this is a hard upgrade. maybe a tool that can bring mono red back in contention with w/r convoke?

I wish I could say I did. I only know a handful of words in German and I no none in Japanese. Spanish I could probably get by. For these videos I'm simply looking at translations online while recording. :)

Nah, it's significantly different. They are different cast speeds. No flashback. One has a loss of life attached. And Stargaze can potentially see a TON of cards late game which kind of makes it a tutor of sorts.

with the cards that have the expend 4 option.. can you pay 4 for a spell that actually costs less to get the benefit?

Nope. It's gotta be according to the pips on the card. What you're doing in the proposed situating is actually paying 1-3 for the spell, then just wasting the rest. Wasted mana doesn't count.

You have to spend at least 4 mana that goes toward the cast of a spell. Things like Offspring or Kicker count, but you can't just randomly spend 4 mana on a 2mv creature for no reason. You just end up with 2 mana in your pool, that go away unused when you move to the next phase.

We've only seen about half the set I think. And with Jace being a fox, there still might be some. And if there are, there might not be many as foxes generally play the role of predators, so we might only get one or two.
