The card you were looking for is Regal Bunnicorn Consolidating comments here to avoid spamming : Remember that we literally have LANDS that make you pay life 1 so lunar convocation would be very VERY easy to enable in any deck that has any form of lifegain. The archetype player names are (according to WoTC themselves) : Timmy : Timmy is what we in R&D call the "power gamer." Timmy likes to win big. He doesn’t want to eke out a last minute victory. Timmy wants to smash his opponents. He likes his cards to be impressive, and he enjoys playing big creatures and big spells. Timmy cares more about the quality of his win than the quantity of his wins. For example, Timmy sits down and plays ten games. He only wins three games out of ten but the three he wins, he dominates his opponent. Timmy had fun. Timmy walks away happy. Johnny is the creative gamer to whom Magic is a form of self-expression. Johnny likes to win, but he wants to win with style. It’s very important to Johnny that he win on his own terms. As such, it’s important to Johnny that he’s using his own deck. Playing Magic is an opportunity for Johnny to show off his creativity. Johnny likes a challenge. Johnny enjoys winning with cards that no one else wants to use. He likes making decks that win in innovative ways. What sets Johnny apart from the other profiles is that Johnny enjoys deckbuilding as much as (or more than) he enjoys playing. Johnny loves the cool interactions of the cards. He loves combo decks. Johnny is happiest when he’s exploring uncharted territory. Spike is the competitive player. Spike plays to win. Spike enjoys winning. To accomplish this, Spike will play whatever the best deck is. Spike will copy decks off the Internet. Spike will borrow other players’ decks. To Spike, the thrill of Magic is the adrenalin rush of competition. Spike enjoys the stimulation of outplaying the opponent and the glory of victory. Spike cares more about the quantity of wins than the quality. For example, Spike plays ten games and wins nine of them. If Spike feels he should have won the tenth, he walks away unhappy. About ral, you should remeber him he was already in ravnica when we were playing, already an izzet PW, already doing storm stuff, wasn't an otter back then though xD. Also reminder that storm counts opponent's and non creature spells as well Now here the pice of resistance : Ygra. Ygra is a combo piece, you probably remember the cat oven decks we had back then in standard ?? well now imagine if the cat were food themselves ... well thanks ygra you don't have to imagine. Now for standard we have camelia and experimental confectioner that are two 3 drop creatures that generate tokens when food is sacrificed, but what happens if those tokens get turned into food ?? Well you sac token you get more token, if you have an unlimited sac engine (bartolomeh is looking at the food while drooling) and a payoff for stuff dying (ellas il kor pings on each creature death, scavenger's talent mills on each permanent sacrificed) and you have instant win combo there. Probably in a selfmill shell (to maximize use of scavenger talent and we could probably play the lich knight conquest to sac foods to bring all our combo pieces to the field in one go). This would make a great combo deck IMO (yes I'm a Johnny how did you notice) about frogs design it's actually really simple when you think about it, frogs .... bounce, THEY BOUNCE !!!! it was in front of our eyes the whole time. PS those frogs look like they would work well with that turtle that risen reefs when you play a creature with higher toughness than power as they have both the bounce/blink synergy and most frog have "thick bottoms" to quote a friend of mine

One card I think will be fun to run in Lizards is Laughing Jasper Flint, since he's a Rakdos Lizard and a lot of the Bloomburrow lizards are Outlaws (Gev is a Mercenary, for example)

Cruelclaw is going to be the next big thing in Commander, probably in Standard too. The cards you discard as part of the cost of his ability can be reanimator targets.

Great stuff, Mogwai. Can't wait to see what you come up with now that you're fully unleashed on a fresh meta. One thing I'd mention, though, is that there is an exception to the "multi-colored mana = limited trash" in this set, and that is the Pond Prophet. That card will be an absolute staple in the Simic Frog bounce decks because it's so very well-enabled by Worrywort and provides a great "reverse cascade" effect as you bounce the Prophet, replay to draw a card, then bounce back one of the one-mana creatures (especially the one that puts a +1/+1 counter on something.) The Pond Prophet is absolutely viable if the Frog Bounce archetype is relevant at all.

Just in time before the release (the term for mana creatures is "mana dorks," btw)

I think the star forged sword is intended for the bird decks that buff non flyers, and then having the ability to move the sword around to buff specific creatures you want to lose flying.

I know I'm going to be experimenting with with the Jund Colours at the beginning of rotation purely because Cruel Claw has me so excited. It has such insane deck building potential. I'd also be super curious to see what you could do with Grixis eventually. Grixis Rodents could be a tonne of fun!

Green and Black both had some of my favorite cards, so my vote is Squirrels! That color combo also has access to the only Calamity Beasts good enough to be playable IIRC.

I'd love to see your take on otters with Ral. I'm wondering if Lilah's got a spot to make it faster to get the ult after you drop him, or if she's been nerfed too heavily by rotation, especially given there's no multi-coloured instants or sorceries in this set. Also I would love to see the Mycotyrant deck with Three Tree City.

Tbh I would probably play cruelclaw in either pure rakdos, or mardu (WBR). The deck would be 4 cruelclaw, 4 etali's favor and no other spell that is technically less than 3 mana. And by that I mean that it will be full of virtues (Tbh I only consider W for the white virtue to enable token into favor), of cards like phyrexian fleshgorger, no one left behind (costs 5. but if you want to bring back cruelclaw only costs 2), the trumpeting carnosaurus that can be discarded to deal 3 or that other one creature that gets discarded to give -2/-2 etc). OR maybe a simpler safer bet would be to make a lower curve deck without any of that stuff, not trying to go for the "big plays" but instead assemble a deck full of hit and draw cards (bronco, gix, glissa etc) and just drown opponent with value while keeping pressure on them (in this deck we probably wouldn't play anything that costs more than 4, but allowing cruelclaw to cast even a bronco or a removal for free is a big tempo gain, and since the other cards fill our hand we are bound to have extra lands or duplicate legendaries to bin to her). That would be a much more stable deck, but probably less fun xD.

Lizard aggro w/ that red ixalan god (ojer axonil?) as top end could be neat. Can turn a lot of pings that lizards inherently have into 4 or more dmg, that just blows people up very quickly.

I really don't think the white and black villages are much worse than the others. I think Mudflat Village is actually fairly comparable to Takenuma, for example, recovering a creature from the graveyard at the cost of a land. Takenuma is much broader and a decent bit stronger, of course, but the way I see it is that Takenuma can be a land in the early game OR a spell in the late game while Lupinflower and Mudflat village can be both.
