"These really good Sony speakers" Sucky glue makes them pop out, added magnets on the back for ultimate ricer status. Yes nice speakers indeed lol!
@First_Take.8 жыл бұрын
The magnets on the back are to counter the magnetic field put out so it doesn't screw with the equipment around it. Its an indoor sub.
@travis47988 жыл бұрын
That's one theory. Though I've never seen it actually work unlike a shielded motor.
@baronhussein8 жыл бұрын
Travis Piper Magnetically shielded speakers. So we can put it next to a monitor. CRT tubes doesn't like it when a pair of speakers with non-magnetically shielded design put anywhere near them.
@whatismylife35467 жыл бұрын
Travis Piper The magnet on the back isn't for looks. It's for magnetic shielding. The woofers were out of bookshelf speakers, which were sometimes placed next to TVs. With the shielding, the woofer wouldn't kill the TV.

Really? These are just cheap 1990s mini system woofers! I have one, and it is nothing special. Some other Sony stuff that is actually my definition of vintage (70s, 80s.) might be that valuable.

I have one of these, and can literally run it to it’s safe mechanical limits (all the way up, all the way down.They don’t bottom out, and they don’t get hot. I am talking in the 200 watt range, or maybe it’s around 100 clipped. The glue is strong, and would take some pro stuff to really blow it. So, get this woofer. It is a good product, unless it is crazy overpowered with over 1,000 watts. This amplifier easily put out as much power as an American wall outlet (120 volts).

Dr0p Syndrome can't tell if you're serious or not. but he has them hooked up to an amp that is way too powerful for those subwoofers. all speakers have a desired power rating and he just exceeds that by a ridiculous amount. if you have a proper system playing them at full volume shouldn't do any damage

Something similar happened to me but with an extension cord. This morning, I noticed my piano didn't turn on, and the lights in our hallway didn't turn on. Me and my dad went in my basement and checked the breakers. One of them was tripped. Apparently the broken extension cord tripped the breaker and completely burnt and melted the plug, and literally burned a hole in my bedsheet!! I'm lucky my bed didn't catch fire and I'm also lucky that it didn't happen while I was sleeping. The reason why this happens was because my bed was pushed against my wall and bending the extension cord. Well, lesson learned.

I have the same speaker pretty much. It is probably the only speaker you had that I will ever have except maybe an Onkyo version of the LG center/satellite woofer with the exact basket and different cone. The front of the basket is not black and the terminals are more funny looking. Same dust-cap and cone. Exact same surround. I would not call the glue “weak” though. It definitely can not handle 2800 Watts though. Is was probably blow-able with half the power used in this video.
@djijspeakerguy46285 жыл бұрын
Sorry. This comment was supposed to go in the speaker blow of the small LG speaker. I can’t figure out how it got to this video.
