Blown Away By BOA Fit Systems Laboratory and Performance

We recently had the opportunity to travel to Denver, Colorado and visit ‪@BoatechnologyInc‬ headquarters for a behind-the-scenes look at their testing facility and laboratory. We also got to learn about all the studies conducted, how their technology can improve performance by 10% while also offering a more comfortable and repeatable fit. We admit, before heading to BOA’s HQ, we just thought the product made it faster to get in and out of shoes. What we learned and saw in terms of performance enhancements, studies conducted, and the depth of their knowledge blew us all away. As riders, we’re willing to spend some serious money to get a 10% improvement in performance, yet with BOA-equipped shoes, we were able to watch gains in real-time in their performance lab with some impressive data acquisition technologies.

Great interview. I love my double BOA mtn bike shoes. Dialing in the upper and lower lace is awesome. Just got some ski boots with BOAs. They work great as well. The engineering and product are pretty impressive. I’m surprised at how durable they are.

I have some Crank Brothers Mallet shoes with BOA and I love em. Nice to not have laces, but after I while, I just ended up sliding my feet with a shoe horn into em, cos i1m lazy... I see there's a 50 usd price diff between Boa and lace on the shoes I have, and wonder I might just go for laces now. I also smashed my Boa mech when I hit a rock, but that was after 2 years of use, and ofc that's user error. Unfortunately they're beyond repair, but all I cared for was not smashing my foot, so I'm happy with the outcome.

I use flat pedals and lucky RC shoes are the onlyones who care about us flat shoes boa system.

I’ve got a old Bell MTB helmet in the shed that has a Reebok Pump pad fitment system. Gotta love 90s technology

I'm a mountain biker by nature but golfer by looks I own like 5 pairs of ecco shoes with BOA, they are waterproof and extremely well made to suit my lacing laziness. Glad they starting making MTB shoes with BOA I might change style 😂

Haha. That’s awesome! They are kind enough to send me a pair of BOA golf shoes, so I can suck just as bad but look (a little more) the part. 😂

Just waiting for Five Ten to use BOA on flat pedal shoes. Laces are impossible to tighten when there's 100 criss crosses and are wet! Every pair of laces on my shoes have snapped.

No, not at all! Would recommend checking on a potential warranty with your local bike shop or where you purchased them.

If it's not warrantied you can buy spares, the plastic fins in the button are probably stripped... It's often easy to replace...

Yes and no, marketing people are marketing people. Sadly often engineering has issues communicating with media, or just a lack of time 😂 TBH if you want to be disgusted watch vids about MIPS. Terribly deceiving marketing. If you can read in between the lines and know facts about the tech it's terrible. I'd say the scam term is pretty weak and saying it's a fraud would be unproven. Yet 😂

We didn’t talk to many marketing folks in his video. In fact, most interviews with were PHD level biomechanics specialists or engineers.

thats a brand using cheap laces....... Nike etc use cheap and terrible laces on their shoes but continue to charge massive for their stuff.
