what about a vapour barrier? didnt you just cut right through the poly wrap?

Some houses have it, some don't. If that's a concern to maintain that function in your part of the world for environment concerns, then inwall/ceiling speakers may not be an option.

What about the wiring?? :-/ I mean it's a pretty good idea, but if your wiring isn't there for the speaker it seems that this suggestion might not be that well thought out... Not being a hater, I'm just making an observation!

+Mark Jones I feel around for the wire. I leave a coil so that I have the option of where my cut can be afterwards, then I can reach down the stud bay or over to the adjacent bay and have enough to make the adjustment. At that point however, the blown in will be a bit harder to suppress. Not a big deal other than coming down on me. I can still push a larger piece of batt up there after I manage my wire situation.
