Blue Aeroplanes live at the Fleece, Bristol - ...And Stones

The Aeroplanes' pre-Christmas gigs at the Fleece are always highlights of the year. Last time I posted a cracking performance of Colour Me; this year I've gone for another one of the band's most enduring creations: ...And Stones. This came right at the start of the set (Wojtek still has his shirt on - always a giveaway) with Gerald very happy to allow an extended introduction as both band and audience warm up. Angelo's playing is supremely lyrical as always - and we especially like that magisterial expression on his face... bit like a Roman emperor surveying the crowd jostling below. Recorded on December 7, 2012 using a Flip Video camera.

The most underrated band ever, should have been massive. Perhaps, that would have taken something away from them though. Raw talent over glitz and glamour commercialisation, they stuck to their roots and for that should be respected. A loyal following the band has never abandoned, and in kind the band has never abandoned them. How is this for a thought, a concerted effort to take them to the top. If it can be done for Kate Bush it could be done for the Aeroplanes 😀♥ Going to see them in Glasgow in April 23, cannot wait. Thanks so much for posting this. Special.

I came on board as a fan with Beatsongs after reading a fantastic review in either Rolling Stone or Mojo.. And after all those years, I'm still the only one seems to have ever heard of them here in Toledo, Ohio...USA. Underrated doesn't seem to do them justice with their amazing ability to make their music lift-off & soar. I'm still a sucker for "Colours" & their rockin cover of Paul Simon's best kept secret masterpiece....."Boy In the Bubble".
