Dickie Peterson was one of the nicest people I ever met.
@Buzzramjet5 жыл бұрын
Five years later to answer but I agree. I met him when they did a small tour and were in L.A> at the Coconut Teaszer playing. Had him autograph their first album. Bought he and Paul drinks. Hell of a nice guy and a lot more humble than I expected for the first heavy metal band creds.

He still sounds as good as ever! R.I.P. Dickie! x

In '69 I was thirteen and I was spending a few days at my grandparent's house. I'd brought along a stack of 45's to try out on their state-of-the-art stereo (better than my General Electric plastic Wildcat phonograph, but you'd laugh at it today). My grandfather asks me for a disc so we could try it out. I was searching through the pile to find something I thought he might like, but too late...at random he grabbed this. I can still picture him dancing around pretending to get into the music!

I feel like he is still alive. How could anyone with that much expression and liveliness be gone?
@Billvis777 жыл бұрын
Thanks Janet, his death is a huge loss to me, I feel like we were just getting started.....I do a lot of bass guitar work and I do it with him in mind. I think he'd be interested in some of the cool projects and that I built the bass he was meant to have and it was played by a bassist in a major world touring band....BB

This song was off of their great album Vincebus Eruptum. IMO BC just wasn't the same w/o the heavy screeching guitar of Leigh Stephens.

They named a hit of acid after these guys. Blue micro dot became Blue cheer. Far Out.
@pennyhere71468 жыл бұрын
Since I discovered Blue Cheer not too long ago, (where the hell have I been? ), it never occurred to me why blue dot became blue cheer. Really interesting.
@MrKmanthie7 жыл бұрын
Blue Cheer was a "brand" of acid that the legendary Owsley Stanley whipped up. I believe the acid came first -plus, if you look on the back of Vincebus Eruptum there's this wigged out, psychedelic "poem" credited to Owsley...
@rockinronist3 жыл бұрын
@@MrKmanthie So right Know Name. There is a BC profile on You Tube and Dickie says that the Acid name for Blue Cheer came first. BUT the name Blue Cheer originated in the 1960s from the laundry detergent Blue Cheer. I saw an unopened box of it years ago, but the seller wanted $80 for it.

Fuzz-Tone lives on. I can't see pedals but it does sound like one of the original Fuzz Faces with Germanium transistors that defined the sound of Rock on the 60's. I remember the one I had back then which I augmented with a Cry Baby Wah-Way. Get a Fender Super-Reverb amp driven with a Strat or Tele and what else could an aspiring rock star need? LOL I always claim that the Army draft ruined my chance at fame, but of course I'm exaggerating a lot. LOL
