It should be mentioned that this arm doesn't work for lighter microphones or smartphones. The middle joint simply has too much tension. Even after unscrewing the tension screw completely.

Would it work with a hyperx quadcast s?
@Rajivrocks-Ltd.2 жыл бұрын
Indeed, if you want to buy this thing be very aware of this fact. I managed to make it work but I can imagine with cheaper and lighter mics it would be very hard to position this thing in more intricate positions.

4:43 is a deal breaker imo. better to pay extra $30 for the gator frameworks BM3000 for better build quality and to avoid the spring issue.

Just bought one of these, ISO good looks at it, and this is 'zackly it. Thank you, sir.

pretty sure you can just oil the spring and it won't make noise for years.

I just bought this boom arm and it sucks. Can't use my Shure SM58 mic and it's a nightmare to adjust it. Also how tight or loose does that tension bolt needs for the specific weight of any mic? I thought the issues were with me so I was grateful to see this video. Not worth the money

I’m still using mine with my Shure SM7B and it’s been great. It’s been over a year with the Shure with no issues personally.

If you can return it the NZXT Boom Mic arm works with lite mics

I just got mine. I am ready to send it back. The elbow joint will not stay where I put it. I have adjusted the screw and all three side adjusters with negative results. Too hard to bend. NO! I will not recommend this boom arm. :-(
@1UpNerdcore3 жыл бұрын
You must have a light microphone. This is heavy duty for heavy duty mics. A light one won’t work as the tension in this is to much
@Reblwitoutacause2 жыл бұрын
I found a solution to the fact that I use a VERY light microphone ( < 1 lbs ) I just hang the lightest kettlebell I own off of the arm, near the microphone! It -almost- can outweigh the tension! JK. This arm is getting returned ASAP

Nice out of the box...BUT... I have gone through THREE Blue Compass Mic Booms in tree years. Yes, it looks nice but it does not hold up. ...and I mean HOLD UP. Three of them have died after about a year. I guess the Blue Compass is fine, if you never move it up and down. The lower arms loses all it's tension. On a positive note the, The Blue Compass people replaced the first wto with no charge. When the third one died, that was it, no replacement....just slightly out of warranty. And no help from Blue Compass on clues as to how to fix the erection problem. It won't even stand up on it's own weight. I do not recommend this mic boom when you may need to move the boom often.

Got one of the brass euro thread adapters stuck in my hyperx quadcast boom arm attachment (that they don’t sell replacements for) & my return window is almost up for this piece of shit boom arm, so I guess I’m fucked & stuck with it! Nice! Guess Blue assumed we’d all be using super expensive $1k microphones that weigh 20 pounds, it seems like a microphone that heavy is the only thing that’s able to keep the arm from rising due to its stupid tension. & yes, I tried multiple different tensions, I even took the fucking screw out all the way & nothing improved. The only time I’ve seen the arm work really well is completely extended on some podcasts, other than that it’s a piece of actual shit, get the Rode PSA1. They’re priced the same.
