I saw Blue Crush years ago and still remember this scene. What I love about the interplay between the song and the scene is that they are both huge! There is this grandiosity, size and weight between hearing that enormous guitar, the big-bottom-end of the bass and those tom drums chugging along and seeing this visual spectacle of these big, giant ocean waves just building up and the girls coming face-to-face with the force of the ocean. Fantastic! Ever since I watched that movie, every time I hear "Youth Of The Nation", I think of that scene.

I saw Blue Crush 3 times in the theatre and about 30 times on dvd. Greatest surfing movie I’ve seen. Awesome soundtrack, great actresses! Made me want to sell everything for a plane ticket to Hawaii, a burnt out station wagon, and learn to surf 🌊 🏄!!

When the jet ski hits the water a few seconds in and the song starts, it flooded me with so much nostalgia. When I was a kid this film was my nightlight. And it grew into a film I would later watch in my preteen/teen years to cope with my PTSD. (I hated cartoons) I'm in my early 20's now, only a few years older than the film itself. And without a doubt is and will always be one of my most sentimental films. Can't believe it'll be 20 years old next year. Times a burning fuse...

I just watched Blue Crush for the first time. Back in the day I always figured it would be a cheesy stupid film that I'd hate. Now, 22 years after the release of this film I finally watched it and I am glad to say I couldn't have been more wrong. Love this film! And next to Point Break, it is one of my very favorite surfing films. Just a great film all the way.

this is awesome. Thanks for putting it up. The main actress looks so uncomfortable on the surfboard on her shots, but the double was ripping it. This is a great underrated teens growing up type movie. I liken it to lords of dogtown or thirteen.
