@Erika5 I’ve never experienced that here in HB or Newport, only on small days like 2-3ft is when I see some wave storms out there. I rarely see any paddle boarders though. Newport and HB aren’t really paddle board friendly due to the close shore breaks. I live near Brookhurst in HB and it’s only during weekends that it gets crowded but the crowds have been dwindling due to the weather slowly changing. Sometimes you just gotta shrug it off and enjoy just being in the water! Usually once I catch a wave or two when it’s crowded and the men around me see that I won’t bail a wave and I can actually surf down the line and compete they leave me alone. It’s all about sitting in the right spot when the crowds show up 😉

I've never surfed a day in my life, but I love watching competitions and surf movies...I cry every time a surfer catches a big wave, it's mortifying but I can't help it. There's something so primitive and peaceful about it. And I could watch Kanoa talk about surfing and surf movies for hours, he's so funny and engaging 💙🌊

Most guys don't realize how big of a name this guy is in surfing. He placed 6th overall last year. This guy was also the youngest rookie in the world surf league in 2016 at just 18. He's the equivalent of a steph curry or a sugar ray robinson in surfing.
