Great info. I was using cloned cameras to generate alerts but never thought to disable recording even though it wasn't needed.

I have almost the same issue with my front yard alerts. I get text messages about movement, but it is usually shadows or light dancing around. Doing it this way would be a great way to detect an actual intrusion onto my property and weed out the alerts I care nothing about. Thank you.

In my zone crossing video I explain that when I create two zones (Zone A and B) I do not overlap them. If I left it like that with only Zone A and B (No zone G in my example), Blue Iris wouldn't be monitoring the space between the two zones therefore it wouldn't ever trigger. Thats why I do the "filler zone" (Zone G) Keep in mind blue iris is only monitoring motion in the GREEN areas that are filled in. Blue Iris would not see an object passing from zone A to B if it is not monitoring the area between zones. Truthfully you can just overlap the two zones too, I just like doing the filler zone to make sure im covered.
