Tommy Emmanuel's brilliant arrangement of the 1930s jazz standard - Blue Moon. Hello, Thank you for this great tutorial! I am however commenting with concern. Indeed, it seems that KZbin does not accept tablatures on videos anymore. Gareth Evans had this problem with KZbin and had to transfer all his tablatures to his website. I think you should check it out before KZbin decides to close your channel. 😔

Hey man, I appreciate your concern, I did hear about the Gareth Evans controversy but I think I should be alright (at least for the time being), if I stay away from doing too many big pop songs where the rights are owned by the big music companies, and continue to put all my tab work on Patreon. I never use my thumb on 6th string and was arguing years ago with someone who claimed that there are pieces that one just cannot play without, citing this as a prime example. I was determined to prove him wrong and did. Why don't I? I did once use my thumb but injured it doing so and had to stop (I strained the ligaments around the top join levering it over the fretboard edge and it took the best part of a year to recover). To date I found nothing that one cannot play without thumb with a bit of ingenuity. Camilo's arrangements and TABs are very good, aren't they?

No worries Richard, I understood that. Using the LH thumb is a crucial technique to develop for this style

@@CamiloJamesGuitar It could well be the case that I am the only person who has ever hurt themselves doing it, perhaps, in which case I was unlucky, but, it was very painful and for a long time and so I should like to mention what I think I did 'wrong'. I tended to have inside of my top thumb joint right on the guitar, so that the the joint tended to be levered open over the fingerboard edge. It is that that strained the ligaments I think, and ligaments take a long time to heal. I can see now that it is possible to fret while keeping the thumb just off the edge, except that I am not going to risk it again. I have a friend who plays the piece with thumb and he says he throws him to watch me because of the very different fingering I have to use in places.
