If you've never heard "Don't Fear The Reaper" before then maybe you also haven't seen John Carpenter's "Halloween" from 1978 -- the slasher film so good for its time that it spawned a franchise that lasts to this day. This song features in that film, so check out that too when you can. And if you're down for getting to the bottom of the cult and its wicked sense of humor, check out "Flaming Telepaths" off their "Secret Treaties" album.

Back when there were stereo systems people owned, there was sometimes a volume level meter, either an analog needle or LED lights. The normal top end volume before distortion would have a ZERO on the needle, or all green lights for the LEDs. Above that point, the needle could go farther, and there were a few red LEDs to indicate over loaded volume. This song is the only one I ever saw that would either PEG the needle all the way or light all the RED LEDs. And it never got distorted.
