This song is a classic example of what is meant by timeless music. It is now 30 years old but it sounds like it could have been written yesterday. You could listen to it again 30 years from now and it'll sound like it could've been written the day before. And Jim Cuddy on vocals.....whoa. The guy has such an incredible and soulful voice.

This still brings a tear to my eye. Reminds me of the lover that got away. My sister worked at Sunrise records back in the nineties and gave me this song on a single ( one song) cassette. I was more into rap and rnb but this song touched me and have always loved it. Amazing artist. Always great music. How can one song make you feel so many things 😢😊

takes a while for the soul of the music to sink in ! first you have just sit back and feel the lyrics and let them sink in to your consciousness. music is different these days its hard to find songs like this or bands for that matter.

Basil and me remained friends for many years after the “5 Days in May” tour. Dead Hot Workshop was thrown out of the club first show. Birchmere Ballroom. No talking between songs! They immediately knew we were trouble. But however we loved them and became friends. Basil actually left the tour bus to ride with us in our van. What a great dude. Love these guys.
