Tell me about it! I'm in Hull, East Yorkshire and there are not a great deal of places I could potentially do a longer skate flow. City Centre ranges from some good surfaces, to horrific cobbled streets, tiled paving with large gaps. Some alright car parks and of course the Hull University. I'm envious of WHITTYskater's locality!

Do you get beeped at and people yelling at you too? Towards the end of my skate session I get a little out of it and do risky things. I just took a fall on some rocks on the side of the road luckily was ok. I’m learning to stay out of cars way and jump on the curb when it’s tight. The trails are too dirty and the townspeople like seeing tricks. I’m trying to nail my toe roll and toe Footgun

@@kimimaro1983 plus you guys get rainy winters. I’m depressed thinking about being confined to skating in my basement this winter, but I’m hoping to find a good parking garage and when the road is dry I’m going to head out.

I could watch your skate flows for an hour so don't worry about the timescale ...... Your technique is so good to watch & use to pick up tips as I'm still learning & still at the bambi stage unfortunately ..... due to lockdown & winter & yobs causing the local multi storey to close down overnight due to their antics I haven't skated since October ..... I'm waiting for kids to go back to school as I feel a bit of a fool at nearly 49 yrs young but I've been putting the boots on every night & rolling back & forth between the living room slippery solid wood floor & not so slippy kitchen vinyl floor. It's practise in a way but I have noticed, even though bending my knees into the right stance etc, I'm still very stiff/tense (scared of hurting myself) so am still getting the power achy back syndrome plus I've noticed when out, the surface has to be smooth as I've found I can trip myself up over the slightest bit of loose gravel or any foreign objects that my skates would happen to hit ..... hopefully that will improve this year with practise once we get back to normality & nicer weather ..... Please keep the clips coming, very mesmerising watching your perfect skateflow & a good teaching reference to help me progress. Many Thanks @WHITTYskater!! 👍

Hi I have a question about skating. So I've just picked up a pair of Oxelo MF500 (86A wheels) as I'd read reviews of them being good beginner skates at a cheap price and decent quality. I've skated before just recreational in a rink/sports hall but I'm now freeskating around the city. I've noticed the inner half of my wheel are wearing quite a bit. I should state that I'm skating on quite badly damage roads and have been practicing stopping, alot of t-stop and attempted power stop so I appreciate they will wear away. I was wondering if you had any tips for the 'way to skate' or if I should try to distribute my weight towards the outside (although I feel like this hurts my ankle as I'm pressing against the side of the cuff if that makes sense?
@whittyskater3 жыл бұрын
My inside edges wear quicker as well and that's because they get used more when I do stops. I just rotate my wheels often so it's not a problem. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
@LeHosko3 жыл бұрын
Just been out this morning practicing braking and flow. Really getting a feel for it now but I only do it in a car park at yet. Once I'm confident will good level stops, turns and jumps I'll hit the streets and so be ready for whatever comes my way. I'm on 80mm wheels, would you recommend 90 for mixed terrain?

Need to get back on the skates, and leg injury has kept me off since last year but I think I'm close to healed up and ready to go. This video is really helping me to get that desire to roll back. How did you size up the liners? I'm thinking my FR1 might be a little too big, but going Intuition might meet I need to go down a size on the FR shells. Any tips?

I went down a shell size in the FR. Normally i used an eu43 but went with eu 42.

Nice to see a longer video. All the best mate. Take care PS. How are those Revolver wheels?

Glad to hear you got out finally last week. I think the last 6 months have been my leanest skate period ever for me since I started. Roll on spring/summer and hopefully an easing in the lockdown rules. As always buddy thanks for watching 👍 Revolver wheels are ok so far. Got a feeling they won't last as long as the undercover though but seem to do the job.

I prefer the camera angle from behind you so I can see where you're going and understand the context of your skating actions. Thanks for watching. Unfortunately holding the camera behind all the time is not an option for me. It's harder to balance and also makes my arm ache so can only do short bursts.
