to me this rotation makes no sense. each wheel will only ever been in the same 2 positions. that won't wear evenly.

I'm a beginner and have begun to skate 14 miles or so on the side of Route 9W, north of Manhattan. There are long stretches of smooth and creamy asphalt where I'm learning to gain some speed. However, at times, small stones and pebbles take me completely down. I have unexpectedly fallen down quite hard. Tips? Feedback? Thank you!

I recon new places with bicycle before trying on skate paying attention to the surface quality and slope. I'm quite used to cycling in crowded streets when I hit the streets on skates for the first time, I'm already doing things right! Yet skating demands higher situational awareness because you also need to pay attention to the ground. In fact, you do need to sometimes look down on the ground but still be able to scan the road ahead for cars and people with peripheral vision and vice versa.

How often were skating? That’s important to know to judge relative progress.

I'm currently skating 40 plus miles a week for months now.. it's great for cardio as I have seen a great amount of my mid section shrinking.. is that to much?

Didnt drpve Rollerblades since I was 17 (I was actually quiet good). Now I just fell so hard, 28 years later and with 60 pound overweight lol. I thought its a good workout for me and my dogs together. But they just dragged me and were so excited they didn't listen to stop....probably because I did not stop either lol. Guess I have to re-learn it a bit first before I dare to take my dogs on the leash with me.

I just upgraded my skates this year after using soft boots and went with the FR2s over the 1s since they come with the rockerable frame and the 1s don’t. Didn’t realize that until I looked into it more, but very happy with the FR2s

the background music is almost as loud as your narration, which makes it hard for me to hear you. it takes a lot of energy to do so. it's the saddest thing about youtube for me, when content creators put hard work into their videos, only to make their background music so loud that i can't make out the narration without getting a mild headache from trying to do so.

You call this beginner? How you call people like me? I go forward in front of my house, the whole block. Slowly.... I can plow stop. Lemon drops back and foward... I go well backwards but forward i open but it stop in the middle, so i can't close again. No scizors. I turn around step by step. No skills. I fear i will never improve....

I love skating but it's hard for me to enjoy at the moment because of how terrified I get and how embarrassed every time I fall. I want to get better but it's hard for me to motivate myself. I searched "inline skating motivation" and found this 😊 thank you.

when you transition to backwards do you put your weight on the front wheels? Because thats the only way i could archive the change of direction today. I tried to follow your instructions, but when i do one foot after the other, its getting very bumpy. Just using the front wheel as a pivot point did it, but i dont know, if i have a good foot position for the stopping then..🤔 I'll have to try next time more

Ha! funny. I watched your skate molding with hot gun video because I bought a pair of Imperial jade 4x80 in 42 cause there was no 43. I decided to risk it and indeed the skates were quite narrow for my foot. Definitely not the right size. What I did was to use your technique and expand the toe box. I really had to go to town with them if I wanted to keep them so I did the molding around 8 times until there was enough room. Part of the fact I did it so many times is that I didn't want to make the plastic shiny so I always went carefully. Now I just love those skates. With red laces and red LED wheels they simply look stunning. The Imperial boot/cuff is super stiff (you can tell is plastic and fiberglass), I really love it, definitely one of my fav setups.

Hi, just come across your video, I know it’s 4 years ago, did you have to mould the top cuff too? I have a damaged ankle and need to mould my boot but need to know if I need to mould the cuff too. I look forward to pain free skating again :) I do hope you’re able to respond. Many thanks in advance.
