I liked this a lot. It showed that being trans isn't a before and after jump, it's a process. Scarlett/Scott/whatever his name is didn't say "hey guys, I'm trans. Here's my new name, now I'm off to cut off all my hair, bind my chest and magically pass 100% immediately" and I really appreciated that, and also, the ending showed that you can be happy being trans BEFORE figuring everything out.

See THIS is what we need more of in the traditional media. Not only does it deal with LGBT+ issues, it does it absolutely incredibly. It captures what I have not seen before. the very beginning of a transgender person's transition. With people like Caitlyn Jenner, it was a huge jump because most of her process was hidden. It also captures the even slight generational differences. Not to mention it looks incredible! It's free of stereotypes and is just very honest. I couldn't ask for more. I could go on and on, but overall I'm astounded. It looks and sounds and is amazing. Great job guys!

Also ironically I just dyed my hair red lol. This gave me a wide smile on my face by the end, I feel like it describes a transgender person breaking free from the conformities and finding themselves with the people that accept that and leaving the ones who refuse to accept them in the dirt where they belong. Thank you Bertie for making this film, and having it miraculously show up for me in this time of my life.

I just finished and can I say WOW. Like an all caps wow. I've been waiting for this film all summer and I'm in love with it. The characterisation is beautiful. I fell in love with Scarlett so hard. Like dude marry me. I felt his pain and sorrow and just general feeling of being lost. Poppy rocks as an actor ta, thank you very much. I don't know much about cameras and all that lot but can I just say I love the massive focus on each character when they gave a line of dialogue. Because each line just seemed massively more important when you did that. I wish my band could have a bad ass sound like Blue Sushi. I admire the dedication in the music. It was awesome. You've made me cry as I was watching this but I cry at most of your films because I'm a big girl's blouse. Khyan was so great at playing a detached asshole that I could feel rage bubbling under my skin. I was so ready to strangle his clincally-spoken ass. Personally, I believe this is one of Bertie's weaker films. The emotional impact seemed forced and some of the dialogue, especially in the second scene with Bertie and Poppy, was awkward and not very believable. I just felt like this film aspired to be something that it ultimately fell flat trying to achieve. The supporting acting was fantastic, however, and always, the film was visually stunning.
