Like this? Before Toby, Gene's master was an old janitor, who worked at Toby's school. The janitor had noticed how Toby didn't have any friends, and he had gotten him out of lockers many times and found him soaked and sobbing in the bathroom after school. So when the old man retired he decided someone else needed Gene more. Toby didn't even need to use a wish to scare off the bullies, now that he had a 6 foot tall friend following him around.

Vicente Ramirez, Batman never had any superpowers. Everything that he was, he worked for. He made the gadgets and everything. With Superman, it's just what he is. Everything was granted to him, in a way. Toby worked to get himself to where he is without Genie's help. Kinda like how Batman did, so he didn't really need Genie. I'm not sure if this is what the symbolism was, but that's what I got from it. And I apologise that this is more than a hint if you wanted to figure it out yourself.

Okay, first time I watched this, just now. Went back and watched it again, from the top. First: writing, directing: both absolutely spectacular. Timing, pacing, editing, all as close to perfect as they possibly could be. Second: acting. Everyone from Gene to Jirard were cast perfectly, and the actors did wonderfully with them. But most important of all: That last scene with Bertie and Andrea, in the bed. I mean. Jesus. Acting perfection, ESPECIALLY when it comes to Andrea, her expression were beyond deep and incredibly well done for an unorthodox role to fill. Hats off to her, that was Hollywood worthy and a half. Overall, I came into this, no idea what to expect beyond having seen some of Sammy's work before and I was just blown away. Bravo to everyone involved in this unexpected cinematic masterpiece.

@@GingerKat23 I like the ending as well for a similar reason. Because I like Jirard throughout most of the film, I need the ending (especially the last line) to remind me what a terrible thing he wished for. In the extended version of the film that I like to think about/make up inside my mind, I hope that that line makes Jirard reflect on his actions, push him to find Chris, and somehow undue the damage he caused in his relationships.

sammy paul you cant just end it like that seriously but well done! it was a perfect balance of like everything. i enjoyed the small appearances of comedy too (things like the dunce hat - brilliant). the actors were fantastic as well
