I live in Australia, after emigrating from the UK (England) 40 years ago. I am now 73 and have one question. I both countries you qualify for an aged pension at 65 years of age. How can we get the governments on side, to legislate against the actions of the supermarket giants, fast food outlets and food manufacturers, to provide guaranteed ‘healthy’ foods to cover even 50% of their saleable products, when it is in the government's interest for you to retire at 65 and be buried at 66 years of age? Living for a further 10 to 15 years longer is a nightmare scenario that would keep politicians awake at night.

My 100 y.o. neighbour was born in Ikaria, Greece. Irena turned 100 last November 2021. She has lived in Australia for the last 35 years. Irena does her own cooking, shopping and cleaning. Her father lived till his death at 107 on Ikaria. She has nephews who own a hotel in Ikaria, on the land that belonged to her father. Her father would have lived longer except, unfortunately was overcome by fumes from a lamp.

Somehow I associate the Aspen Institute w The Kochs. Because of corporate rule, we've destroyed most of the world diet, not to mention the environment. For us to be able to eat "blue zone," where do we get the pesticide, carcinogen free food? All of our corn is Monsanto GMO. Corporate greed has to stop. We can easily find the ways to promote longevity, but not under our current system that puts profit above people.

Some valid points. And, one thing I got from this video is to start where we are as make the choices we can make. Maybe we have pollution near us; we can still eat more vegetables. Maybe we can't afford organic or it isn't available but we can still walk more. If our knees don't allow waking more we can join a faith community to increase our connection. Most of us who watch this video can make some healthier choices and many of us, by choosing to reach out, can help our communities to be healthier.

Aspen Colorado is a great place to be in since the air is probably cleaner. 1 in 10 in our planet now die from air pollution. Being in a more rural area will minimize exposure to chemicals. Not retiring also helps people live longer. Being part of a community like the seventh day adventist church helps. Having lots of close friends also helps. The healthy eating pattern seems to be cheap unrefined staple foods and vegetables. The Greek islands and Italy islands ate whole grain bread (unfermented or sourdough fermented). It is hard to replicate their diet bec they have hundreds of wild plants. Okinawa ate mostly sweet potato, purple sweet potato and vegetables. Japanese also eat lots of wild plants. If want to eat healthy, the best thing to do is actually to avoid eating in restaurants. The animal products industries are very powerful so those following plant based diets will probably remain at 1%.

Not necessarily true that there is less pollution in rural America. That is where they spray to kill weeds and pests. This floats in the air to be inhaled and seeps down into the aquifers. Living in a place where you drink well water is considered a risk, not a benefit.

The idea isn't that you have to have the most pristine food or places to move, it's just that you eat a healthier, mostly plant based, diet and you move naturally... @@bensonmbewe4064 regarding to the ingest of animal food in blue zones, it's misinformation what was presented here. While local (organic) vegetables are present in every meal, either goat, pork, fish, chicken or beef are present at least once every 2-3 days, if not more often. @@mark2designs607 You get it. Humans have ate meat forever, but just since the last century started having a problem with it. It's obviously not the meat as a food, but what the animal ate. The problems started when animals started being fed with grains. Even if you get no hormone meat, if they were raised on GMO crops the meat will contain a disproportionate amount of Omega 6 to omega 3, and this is exactly what causes inflammation. If the animal is eating grass as they have for their entire existence, their meat contains the perfect omegas ratio and we get no adverse effect from it. Also the only reason why saturated fat became a problem is because of the hyper-carbohydrate consumption. Before ultra-processed food being consumed daily, no one in history ever had a problem eating 6 eggs with butter and bacon. The majority of presenters, media, doctors, nutriologists and "health experts" are married to misinformation because the studied all these books with outdated information. They'll still tell you having high cholesterol is bad when instead of focusing on the HDL to triglycerides ratio or won't even differentiate between the normal LDL and the small particle (oxidized) type of LDL. And the top chefs still using toxic industrial "seed" oils instead of extra virgin olive oil to cook because they don't even know about the polyphenol protection at high heat, and still using carcinogenic pesticides like aspartame and sucralose as sugar alternatives instead of monk fruit extract or stevia, or even sugar alcohols. They'll also recommend drinking red wine because that's what blue zoners do but fail to point out that their red wine is a completely different breed and what you can get at the super market is full of glyphosate and deuterium which render useless any potential benefit of the resveratrol content. Agendas instead of complete information...

There's also an unofficial Blue Zone in Skane, Sweden with a large amount of centenarians for the population. It's a fairly harsh, cold climate at times and their diet is richer, and has a lot of meat and animal products in it. Animal products aren't the problem. It's the processed, America-style foods, overeating, and being lazy and overstressed. Even the Blue Zones, many of them raise cattle and or goats/sheep and not for fun. Generally speaking, no. 4 out of the 5 blue zones are predominantly Christian. They wait until marriage, and tend to marry earlier than other Western countries. Their marriages are stronger and have record low divorce rates. Within marriage, sexuality is solid but no infidelity or libertinism. Solid sexuality in a committed marriage leads to better social relationships and stronger families. Okinawa is not a Christian country but not significantly different.

He (the presenter) is a snake oil salesman. An example when talking about Sardinia is that for Italy itself the island is ranked 14th for longevity, these populations are dominated by plant heavy diets on the coast where most of the people live and rural animal based diet towns further up the mountains. Yes they do eat plants as a side but it is not the major part of their diet, even dairy is a much larger part of diet.. These towns are ranked the highest for longevity.

@@scottw2317 Exactly. The blue zones are usually used to try and sell a vegan diet. Most of them are not even close to vegan with the exception of Loma Linda, Ca because they’re mostly Mormons. The only commonalities I’ve seen in all the blue zone research is 1. Stay away from processed foods. 2. Eat in modest quantities. 3. Stay moving throughout your life. 4. Enjoy life and maintain good relationships. No veganism required.
@scottw2317

@@mark2designs607 I would not say eating in moderation but rather eating to satiation with some practicing periods of fasting and feasting like the greeks. The other aspect was the long lived people of Loma Linda when they were tested, some decades earlier, were quite excessive in their intake of eggs and dairy. Statistically though they were not all that much longer lived than the red meat eating Mormons of Utah.

If we pose dark matter / dark energy interchangeability, we can see how, by merely living in that extra dimension, we can do seamless tissue-health trans-locations. We can skip the deterioration that ageing has on human tissues. Via the closer, more thorough dark matter / dark energy relationship, we’ve simplified human health in easy, extra-dimensional terms. Closer adherence to dark matter / dark energy terms allows us to skip entire phases of bad science. It’s as though, when we live in universe-spanning time-space, we can extra-dimensionally lift out of the present and connect the past with the future. To best do this, we need to do it on a regular basis. If you think about it, it’s like when, in many-minds consciousness we use a universe-spanning energy phase to lift out and above a lesser space, then we immerse ourselves into it to get better over-views. We know that e.t.’s do this, and they all live longer than we do. Living in an easily inter-changeable, universe-spanning context, they enjoy gently-lofted lives of universal peace. With the added intelligence of giant-brained whales in our mix, so should we. re the above: Let’s look at this with improved, extra-dimensional physics definitions. If, long ago, the observable universe expanded away from all black holes, that would have added mass and vacuum energy to the black holes, as it does today. If, at plus-or-minus light speed, energy is really change in extra-dimensional order-in-complexity, then, given the 5 to 1 ratio of dark matter to atomic matter, time is better explained as extra-dimensional order-in-complexity. Consistent with this insertion of extra-dimensions into our science, we re-define mass as alternate time-space, or alt t. In other words, we’ve added super-fluid, extra dimensions into every part of Einstein’s equivalency. Outwardly, nearly-instantly expanding dark energy is, by definition, super-fluid because it falls up and out. So, in our alternative to the big bang, an older, condensed phase extension of the universe poses multiply more mass and vacuum energy in its black holes. In super-liminal phases, that would be expected. In other words, our newer parts of universe didn’t occur at the end of 10 99th to 10 120th year black hole evaporation phases. Given that the universe is accelerating its expansion, we should assume that older extensions of universe will have done the same, hence we don’t see them visually. However, their dark matter phases still register, right here, where we are. The only way to see this all clearly is to frame it all in terms of dark matter / dark energy equivalency. The inter-changeability of dark matter and dark energy in an adapted version of Einstein’s equation explains how black holes gain mass as the universe expands, even without absorbing atomic matter. If we expand all relationships outside of black holes, that has to affect black holes internally. So, in place of energy and mass in Einstein’s equation, let’s put dark energy and dark matter so that we get a better, intuitive view of the relationship. Now, our extra-dimensional re-phrasing makes perfect sense, and we can see how we experience condensed dark matter phases across super-luminal, fraction-of-the-universe expanses in many-minds consciousness. The Californians adopted a diet that was given to Adam and Eve who lived in Paradise, in the garden of Eden before the fall, meaning before they became mortal. Then a diet was given to Noah and his sons following the flood, that was given to all mankind. Genesis 9:3-5 first tells us to eat meat, then mentions herbs, but in the sense that: as the herb, all things were given to us to eat. It then prohibits the consumption of animal blood. I find the reason for the longevity of the people in the blue zones to be far more likely caused by their activity, they're grounding with family, community, and religion, and their tendencies to slow down, then with their diets. All groups had different diets. some of them ate some meat. Most of them seem to eat whole foods, and that may be the dietary key right there.

Very interesting but that’s not the all story , it is a bit too romantic. There is more genetic involved than what it says , if it was only a matter of the 9 factors he mentions , which are certainly very important , there would be many more blue zones than only 5. There is recent studies showing that these people who live passed 100 years have a superior immune system and that’s not the only biological factor , these centenarians also have a better microcirculation . Following the 9 factors can add 10 years to your life on average but cannot add 20 or 30s that you need to live 100 or 110 years old .

I come from a long line of centenarians. They're 7th Day Adventists. I'm not, my parents and siblings aren't, my mother's siblings aren't. They all quit the way of eating early on, I took it up when I was 12 for ethical reasons. They're on all kinds of medications, had all sorts of problems. I haven't. I don't know, that's just my little anecdote...

There are studies that point to healthfulness being more determined by diet than genetics.Yes, there's a "longevity gene," and there are "cancer genes," but these have to be switched on. And that appears to be more affected by lifestyle than genes. USA makes a great laboratory for "control" experiments that would be unethical to perform on purpose. People from blue zone countries immigrate to America. 1st generation iqmmigrants, who have not intermarried with Americans, come down with the same cancers and diseases that are very low in their country of origin, but shared by their neighbor Americans WHEN they adopt the American diet and sedentary lifestyle, also losing much of the social network of support they had in their country of origin. So their supposed longevity genes don't give them the same advantage as their parents got from it. Coversely, qsome of these immigrants may have genes predisposing them to cancers that are only switched on in America, when they adopt westernized diets/lifestyles, while their parents may have those same "cancer genes" but did not get cancer, because it wasn't switched on, in the home country. Note that some of theq blue zone people are smokers! This aqain shows that the good effects of a healthful diet and lifestyle can outweigh the risk of known carcinogens. This is born out in The China Study, by Colin Campbell. I think the variables in say smoking, drinking a bit more alcohol, eating more meat, etc, show that there is no one silver bullet. It is a combined effect of the many factors described in the Blue Zones book, that combine together,, synergistically to benefit people. And when people do the most important things positive than negative, ie. Healthful diet, physically active and socially interactive, it appears to be a thumb on the scale, tilting people towards health and longevity. Maybe that is when a lucky gene gets to shine. As for myself. I really don't have a desire to live to be 100. But during whatever time I do have on earth, I want to be healthy and able to live independently and joyously.

The have millions of sheep in Sardinia and Crete (5 times more than humans) but they don’t eat them. They are grilling them over charcoal every night when the American scientist sleep. But they don’t eat the grilled sheep. They eat strict „Mediterranean“ which is plant based! The 100-year old Japanese guy goes spear fishing everyday to provide his family with fish but they rarely eat fish. Yes, yes, yes it’s 95% plant based on Okinawa, too! 👍🤣🤣🤣

Feeling Empty? What does it take to be a Christian? Faith in Christ Matthew 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. The Gospel 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Faith Alone in the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ (God) to Forgive your Sins through His blood. By believing in this you have become a new creation in Christ, and have a promise you’ll be with the Lord in your death, but also have the Holy Spirit living in you forever as a guide for you. If you believe, from that moment on to eternity you are saved (No matter how much you struggle with sin after). Romans 3:23-25 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Romans 3:10-12 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Hell or Heaven? Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 23:13 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? HELL IS A REAL LOCATION ALL NON CHRISTIANS WILL BE THERE AND ARE THERE John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Heaven or Hell? A PRAYER FOR SALVATION THROUGH FAITH “I know that I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believe that Christ died for my sins and rose three days later from the grave. Thank you for forgiving my sin on the cross. You alone Jesus is now why I have forgiveness and eternal life. Thank you in Jesus name. Amen.” If you have prayed this with faith you are Forgiven and now in the Body of Christ. Welcome brother or sister. Remember saying a prayer does not save you, having Faith does in Jesus and what He did for you. I encourage you to find a Godly Bible believing church as well God Bless

Left brain approach, even adhered to the straightest hypothesis and correlations, can never get to the supposedly holy Grail. At best is passive: something that we shouldn't do. I used to think also that we're body, mind and spirit, a three legs stool. Now I think we're all spirits making physical journeys, with physical manifestation. Keep spirit on track ( that's why mental/physical vices lead to early demises), everything fall into places. What you deserve NOW cannot be explained away by physical or emotional laws. There are sages that live to be more than hundreds ( not just centenarian) with only one denominator: to them, physical lives are apparatus to finish their missions ( Mandela, although shortened his life by 2 decades with that incredulous physical/emotional strains, sure was no adherening to any blue zone rules). And the reverse is true with many Marathon runners; big family and "community love" traditional remote country folks in China, India, Middle East, Asia; vegetarians, gun lovers ( their families, friends and innocent by-standers, esp. children. It's ironical that Missouri was chosen ) Maybe we should look for blue dots, not blue zones ( the denominator of these small areas, again, is the absence of these American vices) that connect us into a Quantum celestial blue sky?

Did you really just write "The ritzy carrot consistently heat because care coherently radiate vice a handsomely neck. zesty, macabre substance" (sic) with the intention of communicating anything understandable to anyone in particular or simply whomever is able to decipher this word salad, or are you purposefully trying to break language? It makes me wonder what logic model actually assembled that string of words the first time because if it was a biological human that did so... wow... that's some impressive gibberish skills you've got there.
