Clean field. Do you ever incorporate sawdust on the hills? Here in the Pacific Northwest we use sawdust instead of peat more cost effective. Also noticed your beds are flat on the top to ensure fertilizer doesn't roll off in the alleyway and most farmers have the drip irrigation attached from the trellis wires if there multching

Honestly, there is nothing that can replace peat moss in our expert opinion. Yes, there are lots of people who try to get sawdust to produce the same results, but it just won't happen. Peat moss is the way to go. Yes the sawdust is more cost effective, but it just doesn't produce the same results as far as blueberry bush growth and overall yield of blueberries per acre. Our blueberry plants are very cold hardy for your growing zone in PA, not to mention that our blueberry bushes are now greenhouse grown or raised and that's a pretty big deal because most online sellers today, including all the big box stores and most nurseries all use temperature controlled greenhouses to raise blueberry plants, but that is good for the sellers and bad for you the buyer, because cold hardiness is not something you can see until it's too late.
