Thank you, absolute perfection! I love the versatility of subbing in cherries or diced peach wedges and being able to make it different ways all year long. One could double the streusel and put a layer in the centre as well. The flexibility and ease of this recipe should make it a top ten for everyone.

I made this cake last night for friends and used 1.5 cups of frozen boysenberries. It's one of the best cakes I've ever tasted! I added the zest of a lemon to the batter and added both vanilla extract and a few drops of almond extract, also I sprinkled some sliced almonds on top. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful recipe. Ty dear for your good thoughts requested earlier , this cake was perfect, two friends dropped in for chai and enjoyed a slice and took some home. My neighbor children got the rest.
