GEORGIA RESIDENT. Hello Jason. You saved my Zoysia Lawn. Using the wrong herbicide, Tenacity rather than Celsius! The Celsius was a GAME CHANGER! Please suggest Pre Emergent: Second question. Can I seed (patch) now. Non-pre emergent area.

Hey Jason, which pre-emergent would you recommend for a centipede lawn that has some poah in it
@lawncarelife3 жыл бұрын
Good to hear from you. It's going to be tough to get rid of Poa at this point in centipede. You will need to put out a pre-emergent in the fall to help with that. You can use prodiamine or a low rate of specticle in the fall. This time of year, I apply a low rate of pre-emergent to help with Summer weeds. I am using prodiamine on centipede Lawns. Any post-emergent that you use now on poa may cause damage to the centipede, especially if it already has some green in it. If the lawn is mostly dormant then you could use a product like Celsius as a post emergent

Can i use glyfosate to kill poa in a dormant bermuta?

It's my understanding that DriveXLR8 and St. Aug grass aren't best buddies and that it'll kill St. Aug. Is that correct?

I am planning on using Specticle G or Flo this fall due to the amount of Poa I had to deal with this year. I’m trying to figure out the most efficient and effective way to do it: G vs Flo. For Flo I’d be using a backpack sprayer: how much per gallon? For G how much per 1000sft?

Great video! Best pre emergent for sedge in St Augustine before spring? Planning on Stonewall currently.
@lawncarelife3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, I don't think prodiamine will help with sedges. You most likely will have to use a product like prosedge or certainty once they appear

great video Jason. Do you have any experience mixing Dimension with Gallery 75? Both are made by Dow, and the labels says they can be mixed together in the tank. Gallery is a broad leaf pre emergent. Thanks.
@lawncarelife3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I don't have experience with Gallery. Sounds like that would be an effective but costly application
@johnfetter32523 жыл бұрын
@@lawncarelife Thanks again. It is very expensive, but I get about 8 months of broadleaf pre emergent control with it. Hopefully it will be generic, and thus cheaper, soon.

@@jonkiser2020 Fort Worth Texas. Label states 8 month coverage. I put it on early April and have had great results. The bottle is about 150 bucks, and the bottle lasts 2 seasons.

@@johnfetter3252 yea it’s expensive, but not really with that kind of control for that long. Thanks for sharing. I’m going to look into that more!

Am I understanding it correctly Prodiamine is good in the fall for winter Weed and in the early spring for summer weeds
@JoNathanB19763 жыл бұрын
It's good in the fall for winter broadleaf weeds like henbit but is not very effective against poa annua. You would need to add something like simizine to help with the poa. Prodiamine is great for spring time application against summer weeds because the main target is crabgrass. But it is also effective against a number of broadleaf weeds like corn speedwell. In late spring or early summer i like to add an application of Gallery to fight the broadleaf weeds like chamber bitter. With Prodiamine it is key to remember the max annual rate of 0.83 oz/1000sqft meaning that the total of all your applications for Prodiamine for the whole year should be no more than that maximum. Going over that is just wasting money and potentially encouraging herbicide resistance which will make the preemergent less effective.
