Also check out the king of the zone game mode by Kais, a 3 team battle mode that could be crazy good! 🤪 It feels so good to be back in control of the games we play, not hoping on some studio to do what we want, and almost always being disappointed .. I grew up playing mostly mods, CS 1.6, Desert Combat 😉 that's why I was so excited when I heard the idea for OHD. So now the dust settles and the haters move on to hating something else, we can just get on and do this.

Bluedrakes' vision to put features that are brought up by modders into the base game is an amazing thing. Most games on the market rarely change over their lifespan. But OHD promises to make the mods a part of the official base game, meaning new players will be able to jump right into a more refined and polished experience without even having to open up steam workshop. Just open the game, select a server with counterstrike mode, and jump right in, no additional work is needed on the player's behalf. Personally, I have downloaded a shit ton of mods for CS 1.6 and as always it is a hit or miss with compatibility and stability. The Devs working to make mods more integrated into the base game is amazing for a person like me who just wants to play the game that I enjoy.

It's a multiplayer shooter, so could be a game mode similar to that perhaps. Binaural audio is super important though or 3D sound of some sort if possible.

Modders have been working overtime! This is really incredible for the 1st week. Can't wait to see what ideas people come up with next. What I would like to see is a thing for making Machinima video game movies. Allowing you to insert props/characters on a timeline, control them, then rewind and add another character, etc. Add custom sound effects/voiceovers at any time, attached to any object/person/prop/location. Have a simple waypoints system for camera movement, with various ease-in/ease-out methods. Add custom coloured light sources to the map for setting the mood of the scene, especially at night, and also allow adding various filters to the entire screen (film grain, colour correction, etc.). Make the controls really easy-to-use for seeking forward/back in time and moving around the map (bookmarkable locations to jump to, and fast free-flying). Make it so simple to use that any casual gamer could make a full movie in it. I've wanted this in video games forever! I wanted it for Quake 1 in the 1990s, but the movie making tools for that game were a real pain to use. But even with those crappy tools people still made 2.5 hour long movies with voice acting, custom camera angles, added custom sound effects/graphics/props. The Minecraft mod set for doing just that looked pretty complete, but I didn't get around to downgrading Minecraft to try it out. Also, Minecraft is a bit goofy looking for making more serious movies. An engine like Operation: Harsh Doorstop would have much more realistic looking scenes!

As a developer that has played the game on launch I can 100% see the potential, all it needs is one fun game mode every once in a while that picks up hype and the base game to be bug free to really blow up. And besides the issues at the start, I think its all fixable and was a much better launch than No mans sky (a commercial project) but even No mans sky was saved by mods and bug fixes. Here its also different, developers can do whatever they want, they don't even need to learn alot of new thing because most know unreal a little bit. And no mans sky mod support was very limited. To Bluedrake: I see your vision, don't let the negative view of these people influence too much. They can bring you valid improvement ideas but you should not think it was a failure, because it isn't. People should only judge the state and potential of the game and not see it as an completed game for hardcore tactical shooter players, because thats not what ophd is about. Who cares that there are missing features, who cares that there are some bugs when its free and people with the help of the team will improve all of that.

Really excited about this project! I've been following for some time and its looking really good! Im an old guy, basically stopped playing FPS games after the third CoD or something like that. Finally, after a decade and a half with stupid gamemodes and gameplay with lootboxes, gamepass and you name it, looks like we're going back to the good old style with this one. And for all the modders.......haha cant wait to see what comes out the next months. This is probably what a lot of people want, just look at all the mods for games like Half-Life that is still keeping the game fresh. Well done main guy, this is huge!

People think they get the point of this game but they really don't. Yes it's meant to be a community tool that allows for insane creations to be made for free, but more importantly its a free showcase of the talent that backs the project. This game is an advertising campaign/Resume (even if the devs don't realize it lol) and I wouldn't be surprised if this studio/group of devs get absorbed, bought out, or invested in thanks to this title. It worked for Garry Newman, theres no reason it shouldn't work here. I understand that gmod and O:HD are similar in fewer ways than they differ, but the similarities are the aspects of gmod that made it a fantastic game for building fantastic communities around fantastic fan made passion projects. It is quite refreshing to see. Well Done!
