Had a great 1.5 hours of fishing. Brought 45 bluegill to hand using the Diplomat Extreme Area Trout Rod. Lure was a Bison and or a Root Beer Float colored Trout Magnet on a Daiwa Gekkabijin 1.5 gram jig head. The reel was a Daiwa Ballistic FW LT 1000S-P spooled with Varivas ES 2 Lemoni Ester Line....2.3# test. With the temps approaching 100 could only stay a short time. I came to this video trying to find a good abu garcia panfish rod for THAT lake. Small world....I fish there atleast once a week. I just moved here a couple of years ago and it is the closest fishing spot i have found and i love it out there. I set my kids up with panfish magnet baits and weights and the fish go nuts. My son caught 12 bass the other day on a watermellon red panfish plastic. Have fun, keep up the good work, maybe ill see you out there some day.

Brilliant video Randy . Glad to hear your getting rid of those kidney stones . The amount of fish you have access to is amazing . Those fish looked like great fun . If i catch 10 fish ive had a good day . Im so impressed with the 6'6" Abu Garica carabus extreme im gonna get the shorter sister rod . Even though the 6'6 is a solid tip , its not as soft as your 6'2" diplomat . From what ive been reading , comparing the two , the 6'6" is more crisp and slightly more parabolic and the sensitivity is incredible . The recovery of the tip is something else . Its my favourite rod including my BFS rods . The 6'6" is the most sensitive rod i own now in my opinion and 1g jigheads with a trout magnet just fly out on the cast . Its an amazing rod . I cant put it down . Even still . Seeing how much you fish your diplomat extreme , Ive got to have the 6'2" . I mean Ive just got to have it . I got to try that self hooking tip . No doubt about it . Im beginning to think im becoming a true ultra light angler . I havent taken out my BFS gear in a while . Dont think i will be for a while either . I was gonna get the Tenryu Rayz Spectra BFS casting rod . Doubt i will now . I want that self hooking tip . I look forward to your next video . Sore lip em all .

Great video. I was briefly in Saudi Arabia in 95, 97, 98 & 99 setting up ground support equipment to test radar and antenna arrays for their F15’s. A lot has changed since then. I too was a lot younger. Stay safe, well, cool and positive.

i have the older 6'10 light action fine tail banshee. it is by far not my most expensive jdm rod but for blue gill and shellcracker it is my favorite. i have it paired with a shimano sore bb reel. comparable to a 1000 size. i spooled with varivas 2lbs area master limited super pe (which requires a lot of attention to line management and a leader) . i use that set up more that any other combo i got its just fun to fish with.
