Well, Here I am 53 years old sitting in my office in tears. In March of 2020 I lost my best friend, My soulmate, The love of my life to a heart attack at only 55. We had seen you solo and with the band probably 15 times. He used to call me and sing this on my answering machine. You were " our" band. Your messages hit us both deep and hard. The last thing he said to me was, I will be calling you .. then he went on to sing the song. I can't thank you enough for all of the wonderful memories listening to you. We didn't have any kids, so I thought I would be alone for the rest of my life. Until just now. I am part of the Blue crew. Not alone. Thank you. ~Peace and Love~

This song has SO many different levels of love. The love for my daughter, the love for my daughter's father who has passed away, the spiritual side - the love I experience from God - with my brokenness, he took away the old and shows me new love and grace everyday, "I can't believe you actually picked me" ...no matter where you are on life's path...you can never take away the Love of God. Thank you to Blue October!

Rachel, I just wanted to let you know that you're testimony touched me deeply... Thank you for your honesty and sharing your pain and doubts - we all have them but many hide them or deny them. Stay strong and true, my friend, for your Father knows who you are and who you will be. You are a beautiful woman and stand out as a treasure because of your brokenness and decisions to not grow bitter, but instead, grow into a testimony of Jesus's grace and love!! The REAL STORY is this: Justin wrote this for his girl's birthday as he didn't have any money for a gift at the time! :) This is a love story of how there is still good in the world and people help others despite the ugly surrounding us everyday. It also happens to be my boyfriend and I's song as he travels a lot hence "calling you"...this can be interpreted in so many ways! That's what makes BO so versatile!

my dad showed me this song one night on a car drive because we had left to go back home...it hurts listening to this it's way too emotional it's good music but I just cry when I listen to it. I can relate to the lyrics, it's not that I'm tired of my parents I love them dearly, and nor is it me trying to be older and mature, it's just that I feel like I don't see them often due to work and it's sorta hard to hang...love your parents for what they do, keep them and always love them, they do this to keep you from having to go the wrong way.

The line in blue skies "I want my daughter to jump into my lap, I want to tell her daddy's fine and always plans to be" that is my favorite line in the entire song, I think of my dad, I still see him every summer, but that's less time with him. Upon hearing that song I immediately fell in love with their sound and bought the album "Foiled" just on the strength of that one single. Since then I have bought every album they have released since and most of their back catalogue too. The only albums I don't currently own are "Answers" and "History for Sale" so until now I hadn't heard this song... TBC...

My best friend sent me this song after my ex who I thought was the one, completely shattered my heart. I cried like hell and replayed it for weeks. I then realized why my homies family was in love with this band. It's the open soul. I grew up around music that turned your emotions off and this and Pink Floyd just awoke some feeling inside that I only got when I was really young from the bond I had with my mom. Was taught to ignore my feelings and to push them down and deal with them by myself. You don't have to do that. This world is so beautiful. It's so ugly at the same time. You have a choice to wake up everyday and focus on either or so do yourself a favor and choose to see the beauty man. People wanna see you smile 😘

In the realm of emotions, where souls collide, There lies a band with hearts open wide. Blue October, their name echoes in the air, A vessel for words we all long to share. Through verses profound, they paint a vivid scene, A dance of words that touch the places unseen. With introspection as their guiding light, They lead us through darkness, into the night. "Hate Me," a cry that pierces the heart, Unveiling vulnerabilities, tearing us apart. "Into the Ocean," a journey within, Where waters cleanse, washing away our sin. "Calling You," a plea to a love so true, The ache of distance, longing to break through. And "Home," where solace is sought, A refuge within, where battles are fought. With each song, a story, raw and alive, They uplift our spirits, helping us survive. Their melodies hold power, their lyrics so, Transcending time and making wounds heal. Oh, Blue October, your music we embrace, A balm for the soul, in this chaotic space. Thank you for your artistry, your genuine voice, For reminding us all, we have a choice. So, let us raise our voices high in praise, To Blue October's brilliance, in countless ways. May their words continue to inspire and igniteGuiding through the darkness, towards the light.... It's the least I can do, Is to write something back. Thank you for every time you helped me through with the magic of your songs. 🍀✌️

I didnt pick these guys but I picked some bands of this era and genre and they put this song on it outta 600 songs. I remember listening to these guys back in highschool but forgot about them after awhile. But anyways I fell in love with this song cause it kinda explained my current situation and love for my significant other that was at home hoping and praying I get better. I played it to her at a visit and she absolutely loved it and played it alot then after that. Unfortunately after a week of being outpatient She lost control of her car while going to a counseling session of mine later in the day and passed away. This is the first day I listened to this song since. My life has forever changed since then.

I love this song! My boyfriend dedicated this to me:-) Interesting the new look at it now that I realize it was written for his daughter not a girlfriend or wife. Oh well still makes sense to me.

2023 and still listening to this song. I remember listening to this back in high school on my iPod. This song has much more meaning now that I have 2 daughters 💕

This was my song with my wife (married 10 years together 17) and we hit a rough patch so I came here to send her this song since her car cant play the cassette tape or cd I had originally put it on :)

It's so humbling and terrifying to have children...I dont like having anything outside of my skin that can be harmed outside of my arms reach...the wish of this parent is that my child will hear my whispers in the wind but follow their own heartbeat with their footsteps gracefully(with guidance) and faithfully(daily).

This song makes me think of my dad so much. My dad killed himself in the early summer of 2015 and I miss him so much. This band has been a part of my childhood and is still a part of my teen years. Its helped me through so much hate and anger towards my parents and helped me through all the pain they caused. I hope to one day take my mom to a Blue October concert. Justin thank you for your powerful words they have helped me through so much.

I have a daughter, I try to be the father I never had. She's the most beautiful thing in the world to me. I have so much pain, I hope she understands. I never wanted this. I'm always scared to hurt her, to be cold and distant like my parents were...I'll accept whatever punishment her heart feels is necesary.
